Differences
This beginning was sent to me by @MayceeMouse who wanted this to be a gay story about people who can turn into cats.
I roll around lazily in the patch of sunlight, reveling in the feelings of warmth and security that blanket me nowadays. If it hadn't been for him... I shudder to think what might've happened to me if he hadn't taken pity on that poor, malnourished, dirty fleabag of a kitten in the gutter that I had been 2 months ago...
Time to mess things up real good. Sorry Maycee :P
It had been a day like any other. I, as one of the cat people, was being oppressed by the other animals in town. It had been a rough time for us since the dog people took over our nation. In some cities, we cats were being left on the streets, in hopes we would starve.
I wasn't lucky enough to live in one of those towns. No... I had to spend my days in one of the places where the cat hunts were still going on. Day after day was spent hiding or running away from the hunters after stealing something to feed on.
The hunters knew about me, it hadn't been long since one of them caught me, the escape costing me my right hind leg. Since that day, they had been trying to get another bite of me. Just like people say, "Once an alligator gets a bite of you, he won't rest until he gets the rest too."
And as a three-legged cat, running away wasn't the easiest thing to do, especially while carrying a roasted mouse, and with a missing leg, my human form wasn't of any use either. But I kept running, jumping over fences and hiding behind corners, trying to escape those hungry alligators.
Just when I thought I had survived yet another day and wanted to crawl into the sewers where my two only friends were waiting for me, I was grabbed by my tail and pulled back out. With no way of defending myself, I was flung through the air and against a wall.
"I found the three-legged!" I heard the man who had thrown me scream. It didn't take long until I could see the alligator, which I remembered well, running towards me. He had a devilish grin on his hungry looking face, and I could feel myself giving up. I thought for sure I would die there, poor, malnourished, and dirty, my dream of having a home to share with a loved one fading.
Only moments before the hunters reached me, I was suddenly grabbed and pulled into the air. I looked up with my body hurting from the crash with the wall, and could see a big eagle carrying me away. Before I realized what was happening, we were already too high for me to change into my human form to free myself.
"Don't move, your wounds need treatment," the eagle suddenly said. His manly voice sounded gentle, caring even. I had no chance to free myself without falling into my own death, so I didn't even try to defend. I looked in the direction which we were flying in and could see a big mansion coming closer. But before we reached it, I felt my consciousness fading, I had lost too much blood to stay awake.
It's been two months since that day. Two months since I woke up in this warm bed, with the sun shining into my eyes. He took good care of me since. My wounds got treated, and I got multiple warm meals per day.
The mansion we now share is huge and had many spare rooms, so we even could get my two friends out of the sewers and into a cozy home. They promised to look for a job and pay rent, but that might not be an easy task to accomplish for two small frog twins. But he promised me it's alright, and by now, I trust him very much.
Although I would have never imagined my loved one to be a male, and a bird at that, the dream of sharing a home with someone special is more than just a dream now. And although we might be of different races, our human forms make it work. And with him, I'm sure it will keep on working.
