I plunged deep into my thoughts. What did I need so badly? 

I'm losing it. No one can stop me.

"Please." I begged her, delirious in my fever. "I need you. I can't stand this. I need your help. Don't go."

This had been my one time I felt close to her. She'd always been like a sister to me. But this time she finally felt like... More.

The one time in my life I wasn't alone was when I didn't feel it. Ironic, wasn't it. 

I had always tried to be with her. Anywhere, whenever. And I always thought about her. Apart, but still together.

I felt her vaguely. A presence near my body... To which I wasn't connected in my present state. Just my luck. Never feeling her when she was near me. Always feeling her when she was away.

This hurts. Someone help. Quick. I can't stay like this any longer. I'll die if this continues.

If this state of mind and body is not forever, at least we are together

I'm not alone. She'll always be with me. When I'm gone she'll think about me maybe. I'll be there watching her. Helping her.

My lips are crackled. It aches to speak, but I have to. I can't say her name. She's been worrying about me. "Are you okay? When will you wake up?"

I interrupt her abruptly. "You'll never be alone. I'm so sorry I had to do this to you. I...I love you."

And then I'm at peace, flying to... Where exactly? I'm an atheist, is there a Heaven? All that matters now is that she knows. And I'm dead, too.
