Resembling a hedgehog????? (Why is there even a word for this)

When will you ever use this word in a sentence? Seriously, give me a sentence where you could use this word.

The only time I have been able to use this is when I saw road kill on the road and said its erinaceous as we always see dead hedgehogs on the road (Sad I know) But gosh, the person that came up with this word must be a bit erinaceous themselves...
