Laura Peck and Clara Sparrow (her new"sidekick" ) go on a trip to paris to celebrate solving themurder maze case. The first week everything goes normally besides amysterious letter that arrives at their hotel room that says thatit's supposed to be for mr Tourneau, but during her secound week an unimportant hollow lead fish sculpture from the egyptian wing ofthe louvre . Later during the week, different museum relics dissapearas well: a medeival stained glass window from the cluny museum depicting the sea , a medeival boat paddle from thearts-et-metiers museum, a vivid blue canvas from the george pompidoucenter, and a blue mayan necklace from the Quai branly museum. Nobodyknows why so many things where stolen at once , especially since noneof them where particularly important or famous. A few days laterLaura hears three men talking about the stolen museum peices, soeavesdrops on them. She hears that their boss mr tourneau is stayingat the globe hotel in room 370 (laura is in room 703) and wassupposed to receive a letter with information about deciphering thecode hidden inside the museum pieces but never received it . Beforeshe can hear more, they discover she is spying on them and has to runaway.she opens the letter addressed to mr tourneau and finds a weirdcode that she can't understand . The next morning she sees a manwearing an id badge that says mr tourneau on it walkout of thebuilding and get in his car he gets in a phone conversation withsomeone while he's in the car so laura has time to hide in the bootof the car before he goes off. They arrive at the edge of pontd'alma and he goes through a secret door hidden by a statue on thebridge and laura follows him. Once inside, she finds out that thefive relics contain peices of a code meant to give information of ahidden entrance to the heavily guarded room in the louvre thatcontained the mona lisa (wich they intended to steal ). Then , theydiscover laura hiding behind a door listening to them . Luckily ,laura had left the secret door open and an italian tourist had walkedthrough, witnessed tourneau threatening to kill laura and had calledthe police who arrived just in time. The police arrested the men andthanked laura who was given unlimited acces to all of the museums inparis (i know , it's a lame gift)
