(@WW) [Scriptorial] Setting Description Entry

(It's honestly really bad I'm really sorry)

"Pearface! Pearface! Pearface!  Sedgeheart said that you'd tell us about what's outside of the camp!"  An excited squeal shattered the once peaceful evening mood as a fluffy little grey kit bounded towards the Elders Den, often stepping on several tails of warriors who were sharing tongues after a meal.

In response, an elegant white she-cat with stunning eyes and a warm smiled chuckled back in response as the little kit neared the den, huffing and puffing whilst the Clan returned to murmuring with one another about the day's happenings, "Did he now, Mintkit?  I suppose I could tell you about it then..."

"Yes!  Oh thank you so much!  I've always wondered what it would look like, but Tansystar and Aspenwhisker always say that I have to wait till I'm an apprentice like dumb Pikepaw."  Mintkit finished angrily, huffing to further express her point.  At this Pearface let out a small mrrow of laughter, her green eyes filled with mirth as she exclaimed, "Okay!  Okay, I'll tell you about our territory."

Mintkit excitedly clambered into the nest that Pearface had previously been resting in, and quickly made herself comfortable against Pearface's side, her ears perked and ready to listen.

"So,"  Pearface began, "Our territory is incredibly large, at least to you, and our territory, as well as our camp, help keep us safe, and help us survive.  You see, our camp is situated between two rivers, which is why you can sometimes hear water, if everyone is quiet at least, and because the other Clans don't like to swim or get wet, they've never attacked our camp.  Outside of our camp island, however, is a wonderland of places to play, hunt, and explore. "  A happy look glazed over Pearface's eyes, and a look of wonder appeared on her face.

"I remember when I was an apprentice, the first thing I got to do was explore the territory, and.."  Pearface trailed off, happiness radiating from her as old memories recrossed her mind.  "And it was wonderful.  When you first cross the river into the territory to the left of the camp, you're met with sand, and then huge swathes of grass that gleam in the sunlight, a few trees are dotted around, allowing birds a resting place. "

Memories clouded Pearface's gaze as she continued, "The training hollow isn't that far from there, but if you keep going pass the grassy plain, there's a huge marshland. Tons of birds with long legs and beaks fly around overhead, whilst tons of little toads and minnows swim and hop around your paws below."  Mintkit was drinking in every word, building an imaginary picture inside her head of the wonderland the Pearface was describing.

"Then, you have to stop at the border, and turn towards the lake.  Once you break past the swathes of grass, your paws will meet the mixture of pebbles and sand that is the lake shore, and from there you can see the island where the Clans gather together for the gatherings.  Regardless, the lake has such a wonderful smell, the smell of crisp water and sandy shores wafts through the air like leaves in the breeze."

Mintkit tried to imagine what that would smell like as she listened, scrunching up her nose in an effort to smell it from where she was, "The pebbles roll away under your feet and give way to course sand as you get nearer towards the lake, and once you finally reach the blueish water, you'll find that it gets a lot deeper than you'd think, but I don't think you'll need to worry about swimming for a little while yet."  Mintkit, who had been getting a little sleepy, roused indignantly at this statement, but before Mintkit could open her mouth to contradict Pearface, she continued on.

"Then, you'd have to cross the river again, towards where the Greenleaf twolegplace is, but, true to it's name, the twolegs only come during Greenleaf.  Anyways, there's a bunch of trees and birds there, where you can hunt voles, mice, and plenty of other ground creatures, though I've always found it best for having races with other apprentices, and goofing off with other warriors." By this time, the sky outside was almost completely dark, and Aspenwhisker had already gone inside the nursery to sleep, disregarding her one kit completely, however, Mintkit was already half asleep, not minding the absence of her mother at all.

At this point, Pearface felt that it was best to finish her little description there, so she finished it off by saying, "By then, little one, you'll probably be so tired that you'll barely make it back to camp."  At this, a chuckle was heard from a dark brown tabby tomcat who had just entered the reed den, "I remember you were like that when you first got to see the territory."

"You were the same,"  Pearface purred, and Mintkit soon added, "I can't wait till I get to be an appren.. apprentice..."  And with that, Mintkit's green eyes closed as Pearface gave her a gentle lick on the top of her head.
