Prompt: Season//Summer//

Students were all gathered around the Hogwarts express gathering their stuff putting their luggage into the train. They were all saying goodbye, when a small trio could be seen a tall redhead, a frizzy haired girl and a messy black hair head were gathered in a circle talking among themselves.

They had just finished their fourth year at Hogwarts. They were talking about writing to each other that summer. All of them knowing they probably wouldn't see each other until some time between the summer vacations.

Ron was talking amiably with Harry about what he was going to do that summer, and he couldn't wait until Harry came over and visited maybe they could play around of quidditch, Hermione was glaring at the them, she saw they weren't even mentioning the summer homework they had been assigned. She huffed and was about to start her lecture on the importance of getting it done early rather then later.

The chatter completely stopped when, a girl walked in between the circle they had made, she looked directly into Harry's green eyes, her mouth curling into a smirk. She didn't even stop to stare at his scar she just smirked at him while making eye contact and kept walking to where she meet up with her friends.

Fred and George, who had come up behind him patted Harry on the shoulder, when he looked at her retreating form a little dazed. She had sparkling blue eyes "Who was that?" he asked looking to find the girl once more.

"That was-actually I have no idea who she is?" Hermione said trailing off looking at the direction she had walked off too.

"That my dear know-it-all friend,

"Is Marie Barns-,

"the brilliant-,

"beautiful-,

"fellow-,

"prankster-,

"fifth year-,

"now sixth year-,

"Ravenclaw,"

Fred and George both finished saying.

"The fact that she looked at you and smirked at you Harry gives you props, she usually glares at most lads," Fred added looking a Harry with a devilish smirk. Harry got a deeper blush.

"Wait a Ravenclaw who pranks?" Hermione asked her head titled a little.

"Hermione," George told her with a tsk, sound of his mouth "that little Ravenclaw is brilliant, she's top of her class, it's no wonder why she got sorted where she was but, she's a little devil when she wants to be," George finished.

Hermione was surprised, but she didn't say anything else.

Harry looked to where she was talking with her friends, he was surprised she didn't even glance at his scar, she just looked him in the eyes. He didn't know why he was feeling so sick when he looked at her straight brown hair.

The trio got onto the train, they found somewhere to sit when, Hermione said she needed to find Ginny to ask her something, Ron said he was just going to take a nap and to wake him when they were at the station in London.

Harry got comfortable in his seat, looking out at moving trees, and land outside. When he he heard something crumbling in his robes pocket.

'Hello Harry,

Your a real cutie you know that? Write to me this summer maybe you'll make it a fun one this year.

Sincerely, Marie Barns.

Harry tried to calm his racing heart and blushing red face, oh merlin Hermione had just came in he turned away looking out the window again hoping she wouldn't see his red face.

On the other side of the train sat said girl Marie Barns thinking of the note she's managed to sneak into Harry's robes, he was such a cutie his hair all messy, and his dazzling green eyes, she hoped he wrote to her this summer. Her summers were always so boring, she usually stayed at home with nothing to do. Given her mum was a half-blood and her father a muggle, they lived in the muggle world. She didn't have any muggle friends, and her school friends always left on vacation to some part of the other side of the country.

It'd been two weeks into summer and Harry had gotten no letters from his friends, godfather, no one at all it was making him angry why weren't they writing to him? He knew they got the letters as Hedwig always came back with no letter attached.

He was laying on his bed when he remembered the note, from Marie, damn it! If his friends wouldn't write to him then he'd just make a new friend hopefully.

'Dear Marie,

I'm sorry I didn't write to you sooner, I hope you haven't been to dreadfully bored, how's your summer been so far?'

Harry'

Harry sent the letter, a day later he got one back.

'Dear Harry,

By all means Merlin, Potter I was wondering if you'd even gotten my note, I've been so dreadfully bored as you so nicely put it that i've finished all the summer homework already. It's been so awful. You live with your muggle relatives right? I also live in Muggle London, I was thinking maybe we could meet up if we don't live to far away from each other,

Marie

Harry read the letter with wide eyes, by Merlin this girl was smart if she'd already finished everything, he wrote back saying they could meet up at a local restaurant, where the underground trains passed. She quickly agreed a day later.

They set up to meet in two weeks, Harry was eagerly awaiting the day to come, he wanted to get out of his relatives house.

You could tell it was a summer day when they met up, that day it decided to be the most hot, dry, day ever, Harry wished he had some shorts to wear. Yet when he saw Marie walk in his breath was caught in his throat. My she looked amazing, she was wearing shorts that weren't to short mind you, with a shirt with thin strips and a cover up top. Harry felt really underdressed now.

"Hi Harry!" Marie told him happily sitting down in the chair in front of him.

"Hi," Harry got out, he gave himself a pat on the back for not stuttering the simple word.

They started chatting about, how it was going, their lives and friends, Harry talked a lot about Ron and Hermione, while Marie told him all about her best friend Luna Lovegood, and a Slytherin girl Daphne Greengrass.

"I always liked to talk to people younger then me, it feels like everyone my age is just stupid or big headed." Marie said when Harry asked her about her two best friends who were a couple years younger then herself.

Marie then grabbed her bag and started looking through it, she then handed Harry the Daily Prophets.

"I remembered how you said you weren't getting any news, so I brought you the latest ones," she told him.

"Thanks, Marie this means a lot," Harry told her grabbing her hand, then quickly letting go of it, with a small blush. He started to read the paper.

Marie sipped her tea as she waited for Harry to finish his reading, she looked at him with a smile seeing his face express many emotions as he read through the paper, she started to think about how she'd never really talked to many guys, they were all annoying and thought too much of themselves, well maybe not all, but most of the Ravenclaw men were.

Harry Potter, she never really thought she'd be talking to him! Of all boys, yet Harry wasn't like the others, he was nice, smart, funny. He liked to hear her talk and not just of himself. She hoped he continued to be like this, she was actually starting to really like him.

It might seem weird how they were soon becoming really close friends and all because of a note Marie had managed to enchant into his robes, they both still laughed at how random it'd been of her too do, but they were both grateful she did. They continued to meet up after that, they took walks at the park, they went out for lunch together, then the incident happened. Dementors had attacked at Little Whinging, of all places!

It was boiling her mind, what were dementors doing in muggle London? Had it been Voldemort? Had they escaped from Azkaban. She could still remember Harry's frantic letter from a few hours ago.

'Marie

I've been attacked by dementors, well my cousin and I, don't come over please, there might still be some and I don't want you getting hurt, I've been expelled from Hogwarts for using magic in the presence of a muggle, don't mind Hedwig she's sending letters to Ron and Hermione. I'll write to you later.

Harry.

'Expelled! for defending himself?!' Marie thought angrily to herself as she looked outside her bedroom window.

She took Harry's warning and didn't leave her house even though she wanted to so badly to go and check on him, Marie sighed deeply, her summer was going to get boring again, Harry had been her summer go to friend and now he was gone. She hoped they could still meet up.

Her wish didn't come true though, after that he couldn't go out incase that something else bad happened. Only on the second to last week of summer holiday's did they both decided to meet at Diagon Ally hopefully.

Marie was looking for her school supplies when she saw a group of redheads and messy black head which was short, he must have cut it, she thought to herself, they had just walked into Flourish and Botts, she decided she would try and scare him.

She was creeping up behind him, when she saw Fred and George look at her, she brought a finger up to her lips, they smirked devilish and nodded at her. As she got closer she noticed Harry was getting books after books piled onto him by his friend Hermione.

She raised her arms and brought them to his sides and poked him while yelling "Boo!" she burst out laughing when she saw Harry jump up in fright making drop all his books.

"Marie!" he yelled angrily, but couldn't help laughing as well when he saw her holding her stomach in laughter. Ron and Hermione were looking at him and Marie laughing when they finally calmed down enough too talk.

"Ron, Hermione, this Marie Barns, we started talking during the beginning of summer, she lives in muggle London close to where I live," Harry told them as he brought Marie closer to them.

"Hi," she told him with a bright smile, they smiled back at her,

After that they continued to shop for their supplies, when Harry and Marie decided to walk around for a little before they left. Hermione was looking thoughtful maybe it was at how close they seemed to standing next to each other and not seeming to notice, or at the fact she hadn't seen so happy before. Hermione decided then that she would talk to Harry later that evening.

Harry was walking Marie back to where she was meet her parents when, she looked at Harry and stopped walking all together. Harry turned to look at her, she looked at him with a thoughtful expression.

"What is it?"

"Nothing I just wanted to thank you," Marie smiled at him.

Harry got a confused look on his face.

"For making this summer one of the best one's I've ever had," Marie smiled brightly at him, Harry ducked his head down, then looked back up at her.

"Your welcome," Harry told her grabbing her hand in his to squeeze.

Marie then leaned up and kissed his cheek lightly and left to where her parent's were waiting, Harry didn't turn to look at them knowing her very tall, muscled dad would be glaring daggers at him. He saw Fred and George coming out of a store and he knew they'd seen everything.

Harry knew that once he got back to Grimwald he was going to get the teasing of his life, by both his friends and godfather, but he didn't care, Marie had kissed his cheek. He grinned happily, this summer had turned out to be one of the best, even if Dumbledore was ignoring him, the thought of Marie was making it all better.

He couldn't wait to get back to Hogwarts.

A/N Wow! This didn't turn out half bad!! :) Hmm this is a first I've also never written about Harry before :) I hope you enjoyed it, hopefully it wasn't to cliche, and random. :)
