My Way Out
That one silver thread
The rugged gravelly path ahead of you
To which your knees will split open and pour the deep red blood onto the road
And let screams of frustration rip from your throat from the pain.
Keep going, three more feet!
But it still feels too much...
It's as if you won't make it, the pain is too great.
Just fall and die here because it's too much.
Because I give up.
But why? The thread inches closer and you crawl forward
Ignoring the rocks digging at the skin of your palms
And shredding your knees.
Just try, try to stand now.
Ignore the way the rocks and gravel dig into your feet and rip your heels open
Causing fiery pain to well up inside.
Almost there, take one step.
Now grasp the thread, forget the way your body is shredded to pieces
By the razors of fate
Change your path.
Change your destiny.
Behold! Your life is within your bloodied palm.
Continue to the light, it illuminates the world you bask in.
Just a few more inches and you'll be there.
You've chosen the path
No more razors.
No more pain.
No more suffering or agony.
Just the world you want to live in
The life you created.
The light covers you in a golden Halo
And holds you in a motherly embrace.
Kissing you with sweet daffodils and dousing you with the savory chocolate touches.
Utter bliss is the only way to describe the feeling.
A mother's gentle touch.
The way she weaves the thread and embroiders golden stitches of life.
