Personality: Medea is cold and closed off, she is very ambitious and goal driven. She doesn't allow herself to have time for feelings which leads to her bottling them all up which will come back to bite her in the ass. She is comfortable in dark settings and hardly flinches at anything like murder anymore. Whatever hopes and dreams she had as a child were quickly and now her one goal is to take down Harry Potter and the ones who would dare resist the death eaters. She is extremely cunning and a terrific liar with a talent for self preservation. The only side she's on is her own. She doesn't give a damn who wins or loses, she's just doing what she needs to do so she can survive. Deep down she truly wants to make her father proud of her. She craves the love and affection she was always denied but is too afraid to open herself up.

Description/Introduction: The noble house of Iaculus was a pureblood line dating far back before the rise of the founders. The family carried gifts and curses unheard of in the rest of the wizarding world. Each generation was blessed— or cursed with their own. Once an Iaculus would reach the age of eleven it would awaken and slowly develop, becoming stronger over time.

The noble house of Slytherin
first rose to prominence when the arguably most famous member of it helped found a sanctuary for young witches and wizards to learn and control their power. The clan possessed a rare ability that allowed it to converse with reptiles, more specifically snakes, one of the biggest prides of the clan.

It seemed a cruel fate when the last of both clans, two promising young people turned to the ways of the dark, their gifts wasted. Tom Marvalo Riddle and Hera Serena Iaculus seemed to think otherwise. With that rose a fragile alliance, one that would ensure the gifts of both families would continue on. Gifts for the both of them to twist to their own wicked benefits.

Plot/OC backstory: Medea was born a few months before the downfall of Harry Potter. Just a few short weeks after her birth the alliance between Voldemort and Hera was broken, Voldemort emerged victorious. However, when he was defeated by the boy who lived Medea was given to one of Voldemort's most trusted death eaters, her uncle. For the first few years of her life she was raised in near isolation until her uncle grew tired of taking care of her. Soon he became convinced that Voldemort had truly been defeated and no longer saw any point in dealing with the pesky child.

Her memory was wiped, save for her name, and she was dropped off at an orphanage in a small town in Britain. There she would spend the remainder of her childhood years. People tended to avoid the odd girl with odd abilities who'd shown up in the middle of the night with no memories and liked to talk to snakes. Sabotage was rife in the orphanage among the children. It wasn't very often that they would get the chance for a family and they tried to make the best of it.

They were certainly not above ruining each other's chances. It was the easiest to get them to discount Melinoë. Especially with the help of one of the caretakers. She was a stern and superstitious old woman who thought of Melinoë as devil spawn. More times than anybody could count she tried to have an exorcist called on the girl or tried to lock her up (Very few times she'd succeeded) the next best thing she could do was to warn everybody who came in about Medea.

Medea grew up mostly alone. She was both afraid and feared. Often she snuck out of her window into the nearby woods. There she met a snake and its hatchlings who she quickly befriended and often took back home into the orphanage. The next time an exorcist entered her room he left with a fatal snake bite on his leg. McGonagall made an appearance at the orphanage to deliver Medea her letter. Medea took one of the little snakes with her to Hogwarts. She was also given money to buy one more pet and chose an owl.

Her initial impression of Draco Malfoy and his group was far from a pleasant one, mainly because Draco thought that she was a muggleborn. However, once she revealed that she had parseltounge by setting her snake on Crabbe & Goyle (They'll be fine, just a night in the med wing). Draco switched up quickly and tried to get her on his side. When she refused they went back to hating each other. During summer break, word of the elixir or life incident spread to her uncle's ears. He hurriedly took her back, Voldemort would be furious with him if his weapon wasn't ready when he returned.

When Medea returned to the orphanage she found that the snakes had left due to her absence. She didn't know where they went and didn't get the chance to either before her uncle whisked her back to his house to start her 'training' over the summer she was taught her history and trained in the dark arts. During her second year she grudgingly joined Draco's gang, all of whom were aware of who she was now which made her a partial leader. Technically they were ready to follow her instead of Draco but Medea didn't really care that much, she was fine with Draco being the ringleader.

Over time Medea and Draco start growing closer. During the fourth year she was present in the graveyard when Voldemort returned but remained hidden until Harry left. Her very first interaction with her father taught her to fear him. After his return her training grew even more brutal with severe consequences if she failed. Voldemort tasked Draco with killing Dumbledore both to punish Lucious and because he recognized her as a weak spot for Medea. Medea eventually turned against Voldemort in the final battle.

Other things to include:

—The Iaculus family are all named after characters from greek myths

—Medea is a siren. She can hypnotize, lure in and kill people with her voice.

—Medea is treated more like an object than a person by her father the Death Eaters. She's just a weapon in their eyes.

—Medea had a brother named Typhoon. He was the original weapon. He had very little magic of his own but could steal it from other people or enchanted objects. If he took enough he could strip somebody or something of their magic.

—He was tortured to death by Voldemort after conspiring with his lover, Regulus Black.

—He was a cautionary tale for Melinoë, a warning of her fate if she turned against Voldemort.

—Medea doesn't bully the Golden Trio but she doesn't stop the others from doing it either

—Medea doesn't care much for Quidditch

—I understand that a character having the last name Slytherin might be a turn off but imo that's probably what Voldemort would have his kids called. No way in hell would he use Riddle and he never seemed fond of the Gaunts but he would love to flaunt that he is a descendant of Slytherin
