"To the town square! The governor demands that everyone who is able goes to the town square!" The townspeople yelled the morning after Peter and Elora arrived in the small Calormene town that Edmund had ti go through.
Elora and Peter were swept away in the crowds as hundreds of people all went the same direction.
Startled exclaims of "Ooh! It's an execution! Do you think it's an execution?" Went throughout the crowd.
Peter grimanced.
"It's an execution of some sorts. See there that's the executioner." Peter mumbled. Pointing around.
Elora squeezed her eyes shut tightly. There was once the Narnian rulers had to have someone executed. No one liked it, but she knew from stories that the Calormen's enjoyed killing and therefore executions were a normal occurrence.
Peter looked at her, making sure she wasn't going to start crying or something. A few guards tugged and pulled roughly on a chain. About ten or so prisoners were in the line. Elora looked at them, pity in her eyes. She caught the eye of the last man in line and she was frozen, then it seemed like her world had fallen in around her as she recognized the mop of nearly black hair, pale skin too pale for a Calormen's, and dark, dark brown eyes.
It was Edmund.
