Elora looked startled as a knock rang through the room she was staying in. When she opened it she was even more shocked when it wasn't Peter, but a young boy about seven or eight.

"A man named Peter said to meet him at the town fountain immediately. He said it is urgent." The boy said. Elora quickly put her boots on.

"Oh. Okay. I'll be there. Also did be pay you?" She asked. The boy turned to her and gave her a grin, she saw he was missing his front teeth.

"Yes, ma'am! Quite well." The boy showed her a shiny, gold coin. Elora smiled and gave him two more.

"That's for helping and not running off." She said. He bounced excitedly.

"Wow! Wait until my mum hears about this! Three coins in one day! Thank you, ma'am!" He exclaimed, she watched as he ran off into a house nearby, beaming with joy.

Silently she went down to the fountain. Peter was down there already. Since it was the middle and hottest part of the day, not many people were outside.

"What's wrong?" She asked. He looked up.

"Nothing. Actually nothing much." He mumbled. He scratched his chin.

"Is..." She trailed off. Peter looked up.

"Is Edmund dead yet? In a way, yes. He's dead to the guards and everyone in town but-"

"He'll always be alive in our hearts?" She half asked, half stated dryly.

"Well, that is sweet."

Elora turned around and paused. Edmund was standing behind her. He was laughing, whole, and hale.

"Oh Edmund! You aren't dead!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms around his neck. He chuckled.

"It's not often one hears that." Edmund laughed. Elora punched his arm softly.

"You probably hear that too much in a year than one does in a lifetime." She muttered. He laughed and kissed her softly.

"Yes. Yes. Mostly true." He said. She leaned against his shoulder.

"Okay. Do you know what house is his?" Peter asked. Edmund shook his head.

"Where is whose house?" Elora asked, suddenly confused.

"Ilden's. He sacrificed his life to save me from being killed. He had three children." Edmund explained. Elora nodded.

"Yes we should help them." She whispered.

Suddenly a small cry rang through the silent streets.

"No! Don't take me! Please, sir! I don't wanna leave Ellie and Brennan!" A little girl screamed. A man was half-dragging her down the street.

Edmund sprinted off towards the man."

"Missy, your grandmother is too old to take care of three younguns. It will be better. You can work in my fields for one meal a day and-"

"Excuse me, sir. Did you pay for her?" Edmund asked. The man squinted at Edmund.

"Yah. I did. Three crescent actually." In a flash Edmund had twenty crescents in the man's hand."

"I'll take her from you." Edmund said. The man looked at the money with greed, let go of the little girl who was crying so hard she made not sound and walked off after shoving her towards Edmund.

The little girl looked at Edmund, tears streaming down her face as she clung to his legs tightly.

"Please take me back to Ellie and Brennan." She whimpered. Edmund smiled sadly and detached her from his legs.

"Listen. Your name is Liah. Right?" He asked. She nodded.

"Yes." She whimpered. He smiled.

"Well, Lady Liah, how about we go find your siblings." He said softly. She looked up at him, hope sparkling in her bright green eyes.

"Really?" She asked. He nodded. She hugged him again.

"Thank you! Thank you, sir!" She said. He chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"Come one show me where they are."

Getting the rest of Liah's siblings was more difficult than expected, but eventually he and the selfish old lady the children called grandmother agreed in a price, and without a word of goodbye, Edmund, Elora, and Peter took the three children back to the inn they were staying at.

Getting the children to sleep was difficult enough. Liah wouldn't let go of Edmund, Ellie was wide awake, and Brennan would wake up and  crying every time Elora put him down in the bed.

Finally Liah fell asleep and Edmund unwrapped her arms from his neck, Elora got Brennan to stay asleep, and Ellie was fast asleep on Peter's lap.

"They are adorable." Elora stated, as she stroked Liah's hair.

Edmund was nearly asleep himself. So Elora looked over at Peter, who looked deeply engrossed in thought.

She smiled and Peter looked at her.

"Are you going to adopt them?" He asked. Elora shook her head slowly.

"No. Probably not. I was thinking that maybe Peridan and his wife would adopt them." Elora said softly. Peter thought for a moment.

"Yes. They have always wanted children." Peter said. Elora looked over at Edmund.

"I suppose I'll have to wake him up. He looks so peaceful." She said, she began to stroke Edmund's hair.

Peter chuckled.

"I can't move. If I move this little badger will wake up." Peter said, motioning to Ellie. Elora laughed and rolled her eyes.

"You've slept in chairs before." She stated. He smiled.

"Yes. It is quite comfortable too." He said. Elora shook her head and laid down on the bed, glad it was a large enough bed to fit her, Edmund, Liah, and Brennan without being incredibly crowded.

It seemed as soon as her head hit the pillow she fell asleep.
