The Mandela Effect

The Mandela Effect is a term for where a group of people all mis-remember the same detail, event or physicality. It is named after the instance in which a large group of people all shared the same memory that Nelson Mandela died prior to his actual 2013 death, usually some time in the 1980's.

As you can see, the Mandela Effect relates to something that a big group of people that remember a detail, event, etc., that is different than what it really is. 

A lot of people think that this is because we are now in a parallel universe. In another universe, it was the way people remember, but then we were suddenly switched to another universe where it changed. 

These people believe that our reality has changed. What we remember was real until our universe, our reality, had changed, then that did, too. 

This is very complicated and hard to explain, please bare with me. 

An example? 

Well, there are tons. Literally, you look it up, and you will find way too many. 

The one suggested to me was the Berenstein/Berenstain Bears debate.

Is it E or A? Is it Ein or Ain? 

The theory goes like this: The popular series of illustrated children's books is officially called The Berenstain Bears (named after their creators), but that can't be right, because we all remember them being spelled "Berenstein," which means not that we were all wrong but that their spelling changed at some point...

As children, we remember the title being 'BerenSTEIN Bears,' when in reality, it has actually (always?) been 'BerenSTAIN Bears."

Honestly, I remember it as BereSTEIN Bears. I don't ever remember it being BerenSTAIN. 

How do you guys remember this? BerenSTEIN or BerenSTAIN?
