Max and Ruby 

There have been conspiracy theories out there for years about this children's show. However, one question seems to keep popping up for everyone who is familiar with the show - where are their parents?? 

Well, after some research, I have found a ton of conspiracy theories of this: 

1.) They're actually adults. Ruby is taking care of her feeble minded brother, pretending they're children to make him feel normal.

This does seem logical, if you think about it. She does seem to be more than just a "little" older than her brother.

2.) Max and Ruby died. This is their imaginary afterlife. Their parents are still alive, but their grandmother is dead, as well, which is why she sometimes appears. 

- someone else says that their grandmother is terminally ill and is in between. 

This does make sense as to why their parents would never be around. Although chilling and sickening to think about.

3.) "Max was forced to help Ruby kill their parents and was forever traumatized by it, hence his mutism (?). After the incident occured, Max had trust issues with Ruby, which is why he rarely listens to anything she says."

This is dark man...

4.)" People the creator explained this. She said "We don't see Max and Ruby's parents because I believe that kids resolve their issues and conflicts differently when they're on their own. The television series gives kids a sense about how these two siblings resolve their conflicts in a humorous and entertaining way." That's the real reason."

This was a comment on the article. 

5.)  Many think their parents are dead and that this urn proves it. 

6.) Some suspect they died of wolf attack. 

If it were a wolf attack, though, it would lend a hauntingly dark subtext to the episode where the siblings acted "Little Red Riding Hood." 

7.) Some suspect Max killed his parents. 

8.) Some suspect Ruby killed them. 

9.) Some suspect the parents killed themselves. 

10.) It's in an apocalyptic setting. 

11.) Their parents were in a car accident. 

At one point, there is a picture of their family. Some suspect this was taken before their death.

This last one is not a theory. It's an actual explanation from the creator of Max and Ruby herself, Rosemary Wells. 

Wells told Nick Jr., "We don't see Max and Ruby's parents because I believe that kids resolve their issues and conflicts differently when they're on their own. The television series give kids a sense about how these two siblings resolve their conflicts in a humorous and entertaining way."
