2.2 : Heck of a day
Same dream. Same ending. A tear dropping from Kyungmi's eye.
"How long have you been sleeping here, Kyungmi?" she looks over her shoulder to see her mother.
"Eomma," her heart leaps out of joy, embracing her mother in a warm hug.
"I missed you so much dear... It seems like you haven't been taking care of yourself recently." she says. Underneath the clothes, underneath the makeup. A mother still sees through her child.
"Are you alright Kyungmi?" her mother asks however she easily dodges the question. "How is father?" she stands up from the waiting chairs then walks towards the inside of the room in parallel to them. "I heard he had surgery earlier."
Her mother frowns. Nonetheless, she answers her. "He did. We went back from the operating room while I waited outside. When we came back, I saw you here outside of your father's room, sleeping. I didn't want to wake you up so I—"
"Appa?" Kyungmi calls out for her father, the moment she sees him.
"K-kyungmi?"
"Appa!" Kyungmi says, rushing over to her father's side, gripping his hand.
"Seokjoon," her mother says surprised but not really. Well... Kyungmi has been sleeping for about 3 hours since she came. "You've woken up!"
"H-how are you Appa?" she stutters, looking at her father with so much distress.
"My lungs are still working perfectly fine." her father jokes. "The operation earlier was just a minor one."
"I see... but you still get me worried, appa," she says holding her father's hand tighter.
"Don't worry about me, Kyungmi," he pats her in the shoulder.
"Dear why don't you have a snack?" her mother offers. "There, we have strawberries." She points at a basket of strawberries on the corner. Kyungmi makes her way towards it and grabs a handful of her favorite fruit, munching on it happily.
"In all honesty, you should've let me be here," her father mutters. This makes Kyungmi stop from munching on her strawberry. "What do you mean?"
"The cost in this place is expensive—"
"Appa... you know money isn't a problem—"
"But it's not your money, it's his—"
"Stop it, Seokjoon," her mother We talked about this. He'a already giving us so much. Paying for your medical bills. We can only thank him enough. He even dropped by to give us those strawberries."
Dropped by those strawberries? Kyungmi eyes look at her mother, confused. "He's... not here... He's still back in the states."
"B-but the nurse said it was from a guy..." her mother states. "It was just dropped by yesterday night. Nevertheless we should still be grateful..." Kyungmi's mother changes the subject trying to prove a point to her husband. However, the daughter disorients from her parents. They're voices, faded in the background. Going into her own little world as she goes near the basket once again.
This time not to grab another handful of strawberries, but at the little card, she recently noticed, that's tied on the handle. She walks slowly, eyeing the little card. She pulls it and folds it up.
Initials written on it.
J.JK
the scene morphs as Kyungmi finds herself in a scene she's all too familiar with. After all, she's been dreaming about it every night.
"This is the end of the Jeon clan!"
her eyes meet a young man's.
Jeon Jungkook.
Kyungmi's knees give in. She falls to the floor, tears falling from her eyes. Why was she crying? she doesn't know. She doesn't know the significance of that to make her feel emotionally in pain. However, she is. Her heart droas and her breathing becomes uneven.
This attracts her parents' attention. "Kyungmi?" her father's voice sounded full of concern. Kyungmi glances at her father—
"Father no!" a scene of her father getting beheaded was in front of her eyes.
Kyungmi shrieks. Her mother runs to her side. Her hands are now shaking.
"Kyungmi. Kyungmi. Are you alright?" her mother calls out, rubbing her sides to try to calm her down.
"Eomma, eomma—"
Kyungmi goes back to her visions, this time, her mother gets stabbed.
"EOMMA!!!"
Kyungmi shrieks even more, curling into a ball rocking herself back and forth. This has never happened to her, nor did she see those visions ever.
"It's gonna be okay sweetheart. Everything's gonna be okay." her mother chants into her ear. Meanwhile, her father gets off his bed and rushes towards them.
"Taemi, call a nurse—a doctor—anyone! I'll look after her," her father orders. Her mother nods and stands up. However, she is stopped when Kyungmi holds onto her wrist.
"E—eomma," she tries to make sentences. "I—it's okay now. I—I'm okay," she assures her parents, trying to control her breathing.
"Ap—pa, you can't go out of bed," she leads her father back to his bed. Although, he pulls her, making her sit on his bedside.
"Starlight, what's wrong?" her father asks. Although, the lady doesn't answer.
"Dear, tell us what's wrong," her mother sits down beside her grabbing her other hand.
"I'm sorry... I—" she begins apologizing. In her parent's mind, she did nothing wrong. However, in order for her to talk, her mother says, "We'll forgive you if you tell us, what's wrong."
"Please?" her mother adds. For seconds she still is silent, but then she speaks.
"Eo—eomma... I see these visions, these dreams... I see people getting hanged, beheaded, stabbed..." she looks at her parents in the eye.
"Eomma, Appa... I saw you guys die,"
Her parents look at her in horror. "What do you mean? What are they like?"
"We're wearing hanbok... we seemed like royalty."
Her father drops her hand, eyes widening. Her mother notices her father's actions and confronts him. "Do you know what this is about?"
"Maybe..." her father mutters. "My bloodline has descended from a line of Kims. From what my grandfather told me we descended from the stray Kim. The prince Kim Taehyung..."
Can it be that Kyungmi's visions are visions of the past?
She did recall someone named Kim Taehyung in her dreams.

Kyungmi leaves the hospital and heads over to the city's library, Seoul Library. The sun is about to set, but that's okay because the library closes at 11pm today.
She enters the huge building. The place wasn't all new to her for this is a place she's all too familiar with. This was the place where she goes to when getting information and inspiration on projects. Knowledge gives her inspiration. Although this time, she needs knowledge to give her answers. She skips the front desk, a pair of eyes is attached to her. Kyungmi doesn't notice however and continues her journey to the second floor, the History section.
As she climbs up the empty stairs she notices footsteps behind her. She looks behind and there is no one there. Kyungmi sighs. She is having one heck of a day today, from visions in the office to vision in the hospital, whoever was following her (if there are any) is definitely not helping.
She continues climbing up and enters another whole room. A bunch of people in the silent library section. She asks the librarian if they have any books on korean royalty history, specifically during the empire. The lady nods and searches some information in their system. "Korean empire," the book is titled and then Kyungmi heads over to section K.
She begins searching books but she notices someone following her once again. She leaves that aisle and hides behind a bookshelf. She glances back to see who is following her.
The one following her... a librarian?
That lady on the front desk at the entrance...
The librarian loses her and begins searching left and right. That's when Kyungki decides to speak up, "Why are you following me?"
Kyungmi freezes, the immediate feel of cringe erupting in her body. Dumb, she mentally wacks her head. What if I just didn't follow the Library rules and she was there to warn me?
However, what she got was a strange reply.
The librarian falls to her knees and says, "M-my princess. It really is you!" tears fall from the lady's eye and bows down to the "princess" in front of her.
But to be honest, who is she?
Kyungmi finds herself in another execution.
"That woman right there is not a witch," she hears herself say. Referring to the person that is about to be executed.
"My princess, strange things occur with her around." the general tells the princess.
"That is just an intuition general. It may be good to have intuition, however acting without proof is not valid. You can't take a life without evidence. The accused is innocent until proof is given," she says as she walks over to the place full of wood. The young lady was supposed to be burnt to death. However, not in the princess' watch.
"Princess—"
"There is no such thing as witchery," the princess cuts the rope, freeing the lady.
She steps back, bits of memory come back to her—wait no, visions.
"Aerin?" she somehow knew the name of the lady. She recalls things that she didn't know whether she should recall.
"I am glad you're back," the librarian/witch (?) says with a happy face although Kyungmi kept her confused one.
"What is this..." Kyungmi questions. "Was that true?"
Kyungmi wacks her head, mentally once again. Of course Aerin didn't see what she saw. Unless...
"Oh no..." Aerin mutters. "That's right..." she sighs sadly.
"The spell was already forbidden, my princess. And it is more forbidden to tell you," she explains. "However..." she smiles, a glint of mischievousness seen. "They didn't say I couldn't show you," she says, whipping the air before a book and a flower appears in her hand. "Not directly, but perhaps history can tell," she mutters silently.
But then she turns back to Kyungmi. "I-I can't talk to you princess—I mean... Ma'am. Not unless you know," she says, handing over the book and flower on her hand.
"How will I know?" Kyungmi questions, accepting it.
"You will know if you want to know. As for your visions and dreams, it depends on you if you want to believe," she simply answers.
"I may owe you, prin... Ma'am," her 'ma'am' sounded forced. "But I'm afraid I can't help you in this part," she frowns. "It's your choice," she ends before walking away.
Once she leaves her vision, she inspects the objects on her hand. It was the book she was looking for, "Korean empire" and the flower... a lotus flower... one of its petals has a freshly engraved, "rebirth" written.
In a cell was Kyungmi crying. She didn't want to let go. She just couldn't let her lover die.
"Don't worry about me princess—"
"They're going to hang you Jungkook! I can't just—"
"Perhaps I can be of assistance, your highness," a young lady enters the cell.
"Aerin?" the princess sniffs. "How can you..."
Sparks leave The lady's hands. Kyungmi couldn't believe it. The general's intuition was right all along. "Y-your a witch?"
"A good witch, my princess. I owe you my life, hence I will help you," she humbly explains. "I can conjure a spell to let your story have a... happy ending. However, your consent is—"
"I consent," Kyungmi dumbfoundedly says.
However, Aerin shakes her head. "It's not that simple your highness... it depends on your next life whether you still want to finish this life—"
The princess is already out of her mind. "I don't care whatever it is I consent!"
"Kyungmi you are making irrational decisions—" Jungkook reasons.
"And you are about to be executed in minutes," she glares back to her lover.
The scene becomes blurry. Aerin's voice is last heard. "All will align and you will meet again. It may not be exact but it isn't a coincidence."
Kyungmi stumbles back again.
Thud!
She bumps into a bookshelf, a few books landing on her head. Her bum meets the floor with an oof as she clutches the book on her arms and the tulip on her hand tightly.
"Are you alright?" a male voice peeks through. Kyungmi looks up and sees the man she sees on billboards. On screen. On picture. On her dreams.
"Jeon Jungkook?" she mutters.
This has been one heck of a day.
---
The princess is walking through the halls of the palace in search of a particular Counselor. "I told you Myungki, I can handle myself. Go do the other stuff you are in need to do," she tells her friend.
"But Kyungmi—"
"Ah, that's one of the sons of Counselor Jeon right? Young master Jeon Jungkook," Kyungmi stops to see a Young master Jeon Jungkook looking lost in the palace grounds.
She walks over to him, and once the young master sees, he goes stiff.
"Young master Jeon," the princess greets. The young master forces a smile, greeting them as well. "Princess," he bows. "Myungki," he slightly nods.
"Have you seen Councilor Jeon?" she asks. "King Seokjoon has asked me to disperse a message to him."
"I see..." he replys. "I'm on my way to see him too. Chohee noona told me he's at storage," he mentions one of the servants in the palace.
"Ahh... Chohee unnie..." she mutters. "If that's so, I'll go along with you." She turns back to her friend. "See Young master Lee? I'll do fine. You can go now. I know you have stuff to attend to," she tells her friend.
This leaves the princess and Young master Jeon alone as they make their way to storage.
---
They push the storage doors open once the princess unlocks the doors with the key hanging outside in the key holder. The palace has a large storage full of the Empire's wealth. Sectioned into different parts, such as food, weapons, art, jewelry, and a lot more.
The two enter the storage and begin searching. Heading over to the different sections but no luck. The Counselor Jeon isn't anywhere to be seen.
Creakkkkk
Both heard in the distance.
Both look at each other.
"We're in here!" The princess shouts as they run to the entrance.
Although, once they got there, the doors were shut.
"Shibal (Fuck)," she curses. Noticing her actions, actions that are definitely not a princess should act, she covers her mouth.
Jeon Jungkook grins. "I never knew such filthy words would come out of the princess' mouth. Not gonna lie, it's kinda hot," he says, his flirty side surfacing.
Though, she looks at the man in pure disappointment.
"Ughhhh..." Kyungmi groans, sinking into the floor. This is only when the other notices how she looked tired. Sleepy even. She must be exhausted from all her work...
However, being petty won't do them any good. The only way to get out is if one opens the doors from the outside. Hence, the princess stands up, deciding to lurk around the huge space. In particular, something caught her eye.
Jeon Jungkook trails behind her. Meanwhile, it seems like she's heading to the art section.
"Oh god..." she gasps, trying to light on positivity as a smile forms on her lips. She takes out a painting stored away with many others. "I've been looking for this everywhere. I can't believe they changed this painting or a lousy portrait of Uncle..."
I look at the painting. It is indeed beautiful.
Wait... It's...
...
"Make a move on her Kook." Jimin's voice rings in the young master's mind. Young master Park, one of his friends along with 6 others, including the three royal princes of the empire.
A smirk forming appearing on his face.
"Your favorite number's 8 right?" The princess nods slowly, a confused look on her face.
"What? H–how did you—"
"Give me 8 dates, and I'll make you fall in love with me."
She blinks. "What? Jeon Jungkook, what you're saying are way out of context. Plus, how did you know my favorite numbers is—"
"Out of context, I know but give me 8 dates and—" he glances at the painting in the princess' hands. "—I'll make you fall in love with me."
She scoffs, "Me? Kim Kyungmi, the princess of the eight clan of the Kim Dynasty, fall in love with you, the heartthrob of the Empire? Hah, that'll happen when pigs fly."
However, Jungkook's flirty side has taken over. He moves closer to her, their faces only an inch apart. "But what if I do make you fall in love with me...? Will you marry me?"

lol.
