Chapter 2

Dazai and Chuuya didn't beat around the bush; they always went straight to the point.

That was the reason they had chosen to stay at an incredibly expensive five-star motel on the other side of Yokohama.

The building was gigantic and quite decorated. It had fountains and waterfalls cascading from the top floor, and the lights were so numerous and bright that Sigma considered it the main source of light and visual pollution.

It didn't take him long to find the lovebirds. They were on a sofa in the lobby, passionately kissing. Sigma wondered if they were still drunk or if their horny mode had no off button.

He approached timidly and cleared his throat. The couple separated to look at him, and Dazai eagerly stood up to embrace/suffocate his friend.

"Sigma-chan!" he greeted, hugging him tightly.

"Hi, Dazai-kun," the gray-eyed one stammered, nervous about the murderous look Chuuya was giving him. "Sorry for being late."

"Just give us the money to pay for this place and disappear," Nakahara snapped.

Dazai, not entirely foolish, quickly distanced himself from Sigma. The latter swallowed nervously and pulled out his wallet.

"I have some cash and my credit card, not sure which one you'd like to use..."

Without hesitation, the redhead snatched the bills from his hand and walked towards the exit.

"I'll take a taxi. Dazai, pay for the motel," Nakahara ordered with an aggressive tone and left.

Dazai scratched his neck, uncomfortable. "Please, excuse Chuuya," he pleaded. "He's a bit jealous."

To say that Chuuya Nakahara was a bit jealous was like saying the Titanic took in just a tad bit of water, but Sigma didn't comment.

"Here, pay for the motel," he said, handing him the credit card.

"Oh, Sigma, you're a lifesaver!" exclaimed the brunette, taking the card and rushing to pay.

Sigma didn't like being compared to a life jacket, but he had gotten used to it. Since he had started university, his "friends" had taken advantage of his kindness and naivety multiple times. If Agatha called him right then asking for money to pay for a luxury cruise in the Mediterranean, he wouldn't be surprised.

Once the motel was paid for, Dazai returned to his side and discreetly pocketed the card (as if Sigma wouldn't notice) and said, "Again, thank you so much," gently tapping his shoulder. "Are you hungry? I'll treat you to coffee."

"You treat me to food with my own money; you're shameless," Sigma muttered, but Dazai had already taken him by the arm and was cheerfully leading him to a café.

They entered, sat down, and Dazai ordered the most expensive items on the menu. Sigma silently lamented his money and ordered a simple coffee.

"Well?" the brunette asked.

"Well, what?"

"How did it go with Gogol?"

He was thankful his coffee hadn't arrived yet, as he would have spit it out.

"Eehhh?!" Osamu laughed not-so-discreetly.

"How did it go with Gogol? You two slept together, right?"

"I'm scared that you find out about those things."

The food arrived. Sigma took a sip of his coffee, and Osamu split his blackberry and passion fruit dessert in half, adding a plastic straw to his chai tea.

"It's not hard to deduce. Speaking of which," the brunette changed the conversation topic as easily as changing clothes, "exams are tomorrow! Are you excited?"

"I'm horrified. Horrified and scared to death."

"Which subjects do you have?"

"Basic languages and Mathematics," the semi-white-haired one made a displeased face.

"Oh, really?" Dazai handed him half of the dessert. "Here, eat it."

"If you say it like that, it sounds vulgar."

Osamu burst into laughter.

"Well! It seems it's not so easy to tease you anymore!" he exclaimed. "Tomorrow I have natural sciences and political sciences."

"You'll do well. Fyodor and you are geniuses."

"It's not that much."

They ate in silence. After finishing, Osamu stood up and paid the bill.

"Well, thanks again for helping me with the motel," he thanked. "See you tomorrow."

"Hey, hey! Not so fast!" Sigma protested. "Give me back my card, Dazai!"

Dramatically, the mentioned one placed a hand over his heart and the other to his head.

"Am I no longer 'Dazai-kun' to you? What a tragedy! And you accuse me of being a thief! What makes you think I have your card?"

"You just used it to pay! I can see it in your back pocket!"

"So, you're checking out my butt? Wow, Sigma, who would have thought you'd be so bold?"

"Shut up! Give me back my card!"

"Uff! You sound just like Chuuya, yelling all the time. Although, he yells in a different way~"

"I didn't need to know that!"

"Come on, Sigma, anyway, someday you'll get a girlfriend, or a boyfriend, or whatever. At this point, there are more genders than names for people."

"Dazai, give me back my card, please."

"At some point, you'll have sex with someone... unless you're asexual, of course. That's valid too."

"Dazai."

"Alright, alright! Here you go," he took the card out of his pocket and returned it. "Count on you for the next time. See you!"

He turned around and left. Sigma sighed in relief. And although he didn't want to admit it, part of that relief was because the conversation with Dazai had momentarily made him forget his feelings for Gogol.
