Izuku's POV:

A couple of hours have passed since I was saved from tripping by the girl with the brown hair, in that time all the possible soon to be students have had a large assembly, where the rules of the physical exam were explained, its fairly simple from what I gather, just destroy the robots in a large city-based arena, different robots are worth different points, usually the larger the robot, the more the points. This is true accept for the blocker robot, which is worthless, so I doubt I'll have to worry about it. After that we were loaded onto different buses and sent to the different arenas. On the bus I noticed the guy with the engine quirk was going to be in the same arena with me, although due to one of my mumble fits, I don't think he likes me very much. Unfortunately, I didn't see the girl with the brown hair, although the bus was rather crowded, so I am unsure if she is in the same arena as me, although I doubt it. Shame, I would have liked to have tried talking to her some more.

That brings me to the present, as of yet I have been unable to test All Might's power, and the gates to the replica city. Due to a certain someone, there is already a rumour that I am quirkless, as a result, nobody has talked to me. A lot of the applicants are talking amongst themselves, some of them occasionally looking at me with a mix of curiosity and disdain, showing me just how far the information has spread. In the distance I hear the announcer calling out the time left till the start. "3!.. 2!.. 1!.. GO!" The gigantic doors swing open, and everybody charges in at incredible speed, still analysing people's quirks, I get distracted for about 2-4 seconds, and I am left in the dust. Finally clocking on, I run after the others as fast as I can.

Everywhere I look, all there is are bits of robot, every time I get a glimpse of a running robot, its obliterated by somebody else. There's one! oh its been cut in half. There's another! oh its been shot with a laser. So far I haven't gained a single point, and there is barely 2 minutes left. In a move of desperation, I run to the centre of the city, where most of applicants are fighting. I look around, I've got to find a free robot, got to find a free robot, got to find a free robot. Suddenly everybody stops moving, I feel the ground tremble beneath me feet. I look up just in time to see a singular robot, at least 30 stories tall, destroy a tower block in one movement, as it moves round a corner, sending rubble flying down upon us. Instantly, people run away to a safe distance, about 300 meters away from the feat of engineering. I fall down, and I back away from the blocker robot, simply watching it in terror, people are running past me, I see the engine quirk boy look at me as he races past to where everybody is congregating, leaving me there.

I keep backing away, staring at it, when a small cry of pain catches my attention, I stop moving and look down, just before the treads of the monstrous creation, is the brown haired girl, her leg crushed under a large piece of the destroyed tower, pinning her in place, in about 15 seconds, she's going to be crushed by the blocker. she looks up, and through a expression of pain, she gives me a pained smile, and mouths to run. oh no, she thinks I'm quirkless, she thinks she's beyond help, she's telling me to run away, to abandon her, to leave her to die! Tears begin to stream down her face, but she still smiles. That's it. Without thinking, I run towards her. Behind me I can hear the cries of "Get back here! You'll be killed" and "what's the quirkless loser doing?". I bend my legs, and in my first ever use of the power that All Might bestowed in me, I jump, and fly to the stop of the bot, barely getting enough time to see the girl's amazed face before she is whisked away in a blur of colour along with the rest of the world. As I approach the head of the robot, I complete All Might's instructions, "clench your buttocks, and scream in your heart..." I murmur to myself with my eyes closed, before opening my eyes and, for the first time ever effectively copying my true hero, scream at the top of my lungs, "SMASH!". My right fist connects with the head of the robot in an incredible uppercut, the head, likely weighing hundreds of tons, rips off and shoots straight up like a rocket. The body, almost certainly weighing several times more, flies back as though it were made of tissue paper. I look down and see her, leg still under the rubble, but alive, and staring up at me with her mouth wide open in astonishment. I've done it, I saved her. I did it.

All the momentum of my jump spent, I begin to fall, and I quickly become aware of the problem of the power of an experienced superhero being forced into the body of a young quirkless boy. My legs and my right arm flail behind me in the wind, the bone inside them shattered like glass, bruising already showing up along their entire lengths. what can I do to stop myself? From what I can tell, I'm going to hit the tarmac very close to the girl, maybe if I use Detroit smash just before I hit the floor, I can use the air it propels to slow myself down, but it might hit...

I hit the floor like a brick. My right side hit first, cracking most of my ribs on that side, any stretch of bone left unbroken in my right leg, was powdered. Somehow, I manage to retain consciousness. My ears are ringing, and my eyes are swimming in and out of focus, and blood is trickling into my right eye, I think I hit my head. Slowly, I raise my head, the first thing I see is the girl, her arm stretched out to me on my left side, as if she had attempted to catch me, her eyes wide open, shaking slightly, she is traumatised beyond belief. My energy spent, I rest my head back and look into the sky, which is when I notice it. Falling, maybe a kilometre or two above my head, is another. The robots head, it is on its way back down, straight down, directly on me, directly on her.

Almost instantly, I slam my left arm into the ground, flex my fingers, and drag myself towards her. While blood trickles from my mouth I shakily ask her "h-h-h-hello", I drag myself again, and I almost bite through my tongue, as I clench my teeth from the pain. "W-what's your name?", I drag myself again, I can almost reach the rubble, pinning down her leg. "O-Ochako... Ochako Uraraka..." she says, fear, worry and pain in her voice. After I final, excruciating pull, I reach the rubble, "well, Ochako" I say through gritted teeth, "Nice to meet you", I give her a smile through gritted teeth, as I use my left arm to send the rubble flying. I felt the bone snap just below the elbow, and just before my wrist. The shadow of the head has come over us now, and I put the final part of my plan into action, looking over, I see the engine quirk user had come closer, likely to help, but stopped when he saw the head. I nod to him and yell, "Catch!" as loud as I can, catching his attention. Putting the upper section of my arm behind Ochako, I send her flying towards him, and I have just enough time to see him successfully catch her, and for her to look around and see me. I give her the same grit-toothed smile that I gave before, and using the last of my energy, give her a thumbs up, even though it would only work on my left side. She looks at me with desperation, reaches out her arm towards me, and screams "NOOOOOO!", as she watches me get crushed.
