LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES. DECEMBER 2024.

The season break meant that Jacob was practically living in Los Angeles, not in a house he had purchased, but in Olivia's apartment. There was really no point in him buying a house in LA, it wasn't practical and plus he spent all his time with Liv anyways.

As the year came to a close, Jacob had spent some time in Melbourne back with his parents, they warmly welcomed him and congratulated their son on such a successful rookie season. With the aid of his father, Jacob also secured a contract extension meaning he would have a seat for both the 2025 and 2026 season with McLaren.

He made a couple pit stops before heading to America, he stopped in the UK first to sort some things out with McLaren at their HQ and see some old friends that still resided there and he also stopped in Monaco to pay the Arquette's a visit. Thierry was on an intense off-season regimen as directed by his father. It seemed like Thierry was being pushed to the absolute limit to make sure he was as prepared as possible for his debut season at Ferrari.

After stopping in Monte Carlo, Jacob finally made his way to Los Angeles. Here he was able to see Jaxon and Sophie - granted separately because both of them were busy. The season break for Formula One was the peak of the NFL season and when it was Jax's off season, Jake would be racing.

He was currently sat in Liv's apartment, waiting for her to return from a meeting of sorts. She was currently finalising her album. She was going to drop an announcement on New Year's Eve that her album would be coming out January 24th and when the album came out she would announce another tour that started at the end of February - after the GRAMMYs - and ended in August. It would be North America and Europe like her SOUR tour but with more shows.

Jake had taken a look at the provisional timetable and there were points they could see each other. Jacob would definitely be joining her during his summer break and everything else they said they would approach with a 'take it as it comes' attitude.

Before he knew it, it was a new year which meant a new season. For Jacob's birthday, himself and Olivia were joined by Thierry, Jaxon and Sophie for a day out in LA. It was sort of a joint thing for both Jake and Jaxon's 22nd birthdays, they spent the day playing mini-golf (Jax won but everyone else claimed they went easy on him because it was sort of his day), rented out an entire cinema to watch Sophie's romcom which none of the others had gotten around to watch yet and finished their night at a restaurant where they just enjoyed each other's company - filling everyone in on what was happening with their lives. Jaxon's second season was coming to an end and he was still making a name for himself in the league - his relationship with Hailee was also blossoming and they were officially an item but they hadn't directly disclosed it to the public yet.

Sophie had finished filming the second season of Euphoria and finished working on a brand new Hunger Games movie where coincidentally Olivia was asked to write a song for. Sophie was currently lined up for a few movies, one of the big ones upcoming was Barbie where she had a side role as one of the Barbies (it wasn't due to start filming until later next year) and Dune: Part Two where she was lined up to play Princess Irulan. She was also about to have her first gig as a voice actress, voicing Gwen Stacy in the animated Spiderman film. The others reminded her to make sure she looked after herself and gave herself the rest she needed and she reassured them all, stressing that she wasn't overworking herself.

The GRAMMYs were rapidly approaching and Jake spent countless days attempting to help Olivia decide what she was going to wear. The right answer which he said every time was that she looked beautiful in whatever she wore. For her album release, they attended a party together where Olivia performed some of the songs live. He was so proud of her and celebrated her success, no one deserved this success more than her. The album was so well-received and on social media fans deemed it to be the Album of the Year despite it only being the first month of the new year.

When the awards were around the corner and Jake spent every minute he could reassuring an extremely nervous Olivia. He told her that no matter whether she won the award or not, to be nominated for such a prestigious award was an achievement in itself. He did all he could the week of the GRAMMYs, he would take her out on spontaneous surprise dates to take her mind of everything. Olivia was eternally grateful for Jake, without him she wasn't sure how she would cope with all of this. He was one of the reasons why all of this felt so easy at times, it was because she had him as her rock.

The morning of the GRAMMYs, Olivia and Jake woke up in their suite at a luxurious hotel. The sun streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the room with a warm, golden glow. Olivia stretched and smiled at Jake, who was already awake, scrolling through his phone.

"Good morning, babe." Jake said, leaning over to kiss her forehead.

"Morning," Olivia replied, snuggling closer, "ready for a crazy day?"

"Absolutely. I can't wait to see you shine tonight." Jake said, his eyes filled with admiration.

As the day progressed, the hotel suite transformed into a bustling hub of activity. Stylists, makeup artists, and hairdressers filled the room, all focused on getting Olivia ready for the big night. Jake watched in awe as Olivia gracefully handled the whirlwind of preparations.

As they stepped out of the hotel and into the waiting limousine, paparazzi cameras flashed, capturing their every move. Olivia and Jake waved to the photographers, smiling as they made their way to the car. Inside, they shared a moment of quiet anticipation.

"You nervous?" Jake asked, squeezing Olivia's hand.

"A little," she admitted, "I am really glad you're here though."

Arriving at the GRAMMYs, the red carpet was a sea of flashing lights and excited fans. As Olivia and Jake stepped out of the limousine, the crowd erupted in cheers. They walked hand in hand, pausing for photos and interviews along the way. At one moment, Jake stepped back and let Olivia take the spotlight. After all, this wasn't about him, it was all about her and he wanted to respect that.

The night continued, and Olivia's name was called again, this time for Best Pop Vocal Album. She glanced at Jake, her eyes wide with disbelief, before making her way back to the stage.

"This album is a piece of my heart," Olivia said, holding her second GRAMMY of the night, "thank you to everyone involved in its creation."

The final award Olivia was nominated for, and arguably the biggest, was for Best New Artist. This was the one Olivia was desperate to win.

"And the GRAMMY for Best New Artist goes to...Olivia Rodrigo and SOUR!" The words echoed through the hall, and Olivia's face lit up with a mixture of shock and joy. Jake squeezed her hand and helped her up from the table. She made her way to the stage, the golden statue gleaming in her hands.

"Wow, this is unbelievable," Olivia began, already a couple tears falling down her eyes, "I want to thank everyone who has supported me on this incredible journey. My family, my friends, my amazing team, and of course, my fans who have stood by me. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by the people I love who have done nothing but support me in the journey and I'm so thankful to everyone in my life."

She looked over at Jake and as Olivia descended from the stage, Jake felt a surge of pride. The night had been about her achievements, her talent, and her moment in the spotlight. He was content to be in the background, content for his role to just support her and celebrate her talent.

After the ceremony, they attended the after-parties, mingling with friends and fellow artists. Olivia's arms were filled with her golden trophies, her smile never fading. She thanked everyone who congratulated her, each interaction punctuated with laughter and joy.

When they finally returned to their hotel room in the early hours of the morning, Olivia placed her awards on the table and turned to Jake who merely just enveloped her in a hug. They were like this for a few minutes, with Jake occasionally kissing the top of her head.

It was a quiet moment, the city lights twinkling outside the window, the world seemingly at their feet.
