Chapter 6: The Dinner - fWhip's Perspective

That Weekend (I'm lazy lol)

fWhip looked at himself in the mirror.

'Hey so you remember the I owe you? Well, my mother wants to have your family over this weekend, can you come?'

That was what Sausage asked.

"God why am I so nervous?" fWhip asked his sister when she walked in.

She was wearing a purple dress that had white snowflakes on it, she also had her hair down, but the bow pinned into her hair on the side of her head.

"I don't know, you look fine." She said, looking at the black suit that fWhip was wearing.

He was wearing a white shirt, black suit, and red tie.

"Mom used to say that this was my best outfit." fWhip said as Gem fixed his hair.

"It is." She said, "And plus don't you realize this is like our family's meeting each other because you guys are dating?"

"IT IS NOT!"

Gem laughed, "Earlier dad asked if Sausage was my boyfriend and that was why we were going over. When I told him no, he thought that you were dating Sausage. I told him you weren't, but I think he suspects, like me, that you like him."

"Wow thanks." fWhip said, rolling his eyes.

"You're welcome." Gem kissed her brother's cheek, "Now come on, we're going to be late."

"Hola!" Sausage opened the door.

He wasn't wearing anything fancy.

Just a gray suit and tie.

But fWhip blushed, he had never seen him in a suit, and he looked cute.

"Welcome to mi casa!" Sausage's mother said.

"Casa is... house?" fWhip's father asked.

Sausage's mother nodded, "Si! Do you know Spanish?"

"Only a bit. I'm William by the way." fWhip's dad shook hands with Sausage's mom.

"Elena." She said, and then she introduced her husband.

But Sausage pulled fWhip and Gem to show them his room.

"Ooo! I like this!" Gem said, taking a seat on Sausage's bed.

"Now, why'd you want us to have this fancy dinner thing?" She asked.

Sausage flushed a deep red, "Well... my mom wanted to get to know you guys and she overheard a conversation I had with Pearl about he I owe you thing and my mom wanted me to use that for this."

Gem nodded but fWhip was lost in his thoughts.

He talks about me?! What does he say... does he like me back?

fWhip looked up and he and Sausage made eye contact.

They both blushed.

Gem looked from her twin to Sausage, and back to her brother before saying,

"Hey Sausage, necesito usar el bano. May you tell me the directions to get to it?"

Sausage nodded and fWhip interrupted,

"You need to use the restroom?"

Gem laughed, "Looks like that study session paid off, you need to practice with Sausage more often!"

Sausage led Gem to the restroom and then came back.

They sat in silence at first until fWhip said,

"So... what's for dinner?"

"Oh! My mama's making tacos! She makes it the BEST!" Sausage exclaimed.

fWhip laughed.

"What?"

"I don't know, just hearing you say that is cute!" fWhip smiled.

Sausage blushed, looking shocked.

fWhip then realized what he had done.

"Oh shoot, sorry. I didn't mean- you are- I just..." fWhip sighed.

Why did he have to be so awkward?

It's only around Sausage when I stutter and become an awkward MESS.

There was a sudden knock on the door to break the awkward tension.

Sausage opened the door and there stood Elena.

"Hola mama! Is dinner ready?"

Elena nodded and Sausage grabbed fWhip's hand, leading him into the dining room.

fWhip sat next to Sausage and Sausage's dad, Lucas, stared at them with a suspicious look on his face as if they were dating.

Gem then sat next to her father and Elena sat down.

The food was GREAT.

"Dang Sausage, you were right." fWhip said as he made his way for more tacos.

Everyone at the table was having mini conversations.

fWhip's dad was talking to Lucas about sports and work while Gem was talking to Elena about Spanish culture.

"Told you! You never seem to believe me on these things." Sausage smiled.

fWhip laughed.

God you're so cute.
