Scarian: The Man In The Sweater
It feels so weird posting here again after like a literal year. But hi! So as stated, this mini story is over a year old. So it may be very bad. So please do not expect to be up to my normal standards like Error. Expect it to be like How The Change Has Timed or Close Enough. With that, enjoy! And welcome back to Connected
Grian's Perspective-
Grian woke up.
It was 5 am on a Monday in December.
Grian always had to wake up around 5 to be able to catch the bus at 6.
Grian was 15 and was in 10th grade. He lived with his mom and dad, his mom worked so his father usually took care of him and did the home chores.
"Grian, wake up!" His mother called.
"Coming!" Grian got up from his bed and changed into his school outfit which was a red sweater, black jeans, and tennis shoes.
He also grabbed his phone from the charger which was in his room and pocketed it.
He didn't normally brush his hair because it looked fine, so he just ran his hands through it, shrugged, and walked downstairs.
His home had two floors.
On the first floor, there was his parent's bedroom, his father's office, the living room, two bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and dining room.
On the second floor was the library, guest bedroom, bathroom, and Grian's bedroom.
"There you are. I thought you were going to miss the bus." His mother laughed.
Grian shook his head, smirking, "I always wake up at 5."
"Ehh, not always. There've been times when I had to drop you off at school."
"You only needed to do that twice!" Grian protested as he put down a plate with a waffle on it and walked over to a kitchen cabinet.
"Hi Maui! Hi Pearl!" Grian said in a high-pitched voice as his cats jumped on the counter.
Pearl has silver and black fur and is more pristine than Maui, who has brown and black fur and is very mischievous.
Grian grabbed two cans and bowls and opened them up.
His cats immediately started purring at the smell of the food.
Grian laughed as he put the bowls with food in them on floor.
"Thanks sweetie." His mother kissed his forehead.
Grian nodded and started eating his own breakfast.
His phone then buzzed.
"Who's that?" His mother asked as she sat down across from him, drinking coffee.
Grian checked his phone.
It was none other than his good friend, Scar.
Scar was also in 10th grade and has been friends with Grian since 8th.
'Hey G! Just reminding you to BRING A SCARF. You always forget too.'
Grian laughed, "It's just Scar."
"What does he want? Did you finally ask him out?"
Grian death stared his mom.
She knew how much Grian liked Scar and always messed with him about it.
"I'm just joking! But I don't see why you're so worried about it."
"It's not that easy! Especially since he's straight." Grian mumbled.
His mother shrugged and Grian walked up to his room to grab his scarf.
It was snowing and Grian frequently forgot mittens and scarves.
-
"Bye mom! Love ya!" Grian kissed his mother's cheek.
"Bye sweetie, stay warm." She waved goodbye to him as he left for the bus stop, "And remember to ask your friend for a ride home for your doctor's appointment later!" She shouted.
Grian gave his mother a thumbs up and continued walking.
The bus stop was a mere three blocks away, but Grian had to walk slowly so he wouldn't trip on the frozen sidewalks.
"Ey Grian! Wait up!"
Grian turned around and saw his good friend, Jimmy, running up to him.
Jimmy was a dirty blonde who loved cod, poppies, and Scott. They have been friends for 7 years and have always been there for each other. Though Grian was more of a prankster, he would listen when Jimmy was going through tough times. Especially with Scott. Jimmy was also 15, but he'll be able to start driving in May while Grian has to wait until August.
"TIM DON'T- "
Grian started, but it was too late.
Jimmy slipped on the ice and landed, face first, onto the sidewalk.
Grian sped walked over to his friend to make sure he was okay.
"Are you alright?" Grian asked, stretching out a helping hand.
"Yep, fine." Jimmy groaned as he got up.
"You should really not run on these sidewalks." Grian said as they started walking towards the bus stop.
"Yeah, but if I asked you to wait up you would keep on walking and act like you didn't hear me."
Grian laughed, "I would do that."
Jimmy rolled his eyes.
"I see you remembered your mittens and scarf today, how'd you do that?" He then asked, changing the subject.
"Scar reminded me."
"You mean your boyfriend?" Jimmy smirked.
Grian death stared his friend, "Don't start, Tim. You know what I'll do."
"What's that?" Jimmy asked, feeling brave.
"I can tell Scott."
Scott had cyan hair and was in the same grade as the others. He just turned 16 in November so he's able to drive them around. He's gay and has a huge crush on Jim. He loves deer, the cold, the color cyan, and he (like Jim) loves poppies.
Jimmy turned red and started shouting at Grian.
"WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"
Grian laughed, "Shut up Tim! There are kids on this street!"
"Fine. But why?"
"To get back at you." Grian smirked.
Jimmy groaned, "Please don't say anything to him. He probably doesn't even like me- "
"Oh, he does." Grian said.
"Wait, does Scott talk about me?"
Grian nodded, "Yeah, he was dropping me off on Friday and we were talking. Mostly about random stuff, but he then brought up Scar. I changed the subject and asked him about you."
"What'd he say?" Jimmy asked, eager to know more.
Grian saw the bus was approaching and said, "Why don't you ask him yourself?"
"GRIAN!" Jimmy shouted as Grian got on the bus.
Okay I loved rereading this and seeing how I wrote Grian and Tim's friendship. I thought it was cute and I still remember writing the scene where Timmy slips and falls. I remembered in in math class and checked the document and was like 'maybe I should post these sometime'.
So here we are.
I hope you enjoyed it and also, for those of you who read We'll Meet Again Some Sunny Day, remember that Scarian fluff chapter where Scar and Grian went ice skating?? Yeah I took it from this little mini story thinking I would never post it.
Sooooooooooooooooo
Yeahhhhhhhhh
Look I'm lazy :D
