Ren's Perspective-

Monday-

Ren walked into school and immediately people stopped their conversations to stare at him.

Only a couple of people just rolled their eyes and acted as if he didn't exist.

They've all seen it and hopefully they'll stop.

Ren fidgeted nervously with his backpack strap.

"Ren!"

Ren turned around and saw Martyn running up to him.

"Do you think it worked?" Martyn asked, knowing the plan that Ren had.

Ren sighed and shook his head, "I hope, but I'm not really sure."

"Well, I think they will now that you guys are together." Martyn used air quotes when he said together.

Ren chuckled lightly, "Hopefully. But it all comes down to what the Gossip Girls say and that's what makes me nervous. I hate having it all come down to what they decide."

Ren and Doc sat down in science, and everyone was staring at them, as if expecting them to do something.

Tina and Lena kept pointing at them and whispering.

Eventually, Tina walked over to them.

"Hey guys!" She smiled a sick smile, "So happy to see that you two are dating."

"Yep." Ren said, not paying attention and instead staring at the ceiling.

Tina slammed her hands on the desk and leaned in so no one could hear their conversation, "Now listen, I don't believe a second of it."

"What do you mean?" Ren said, now looking at Tina, "I love him, I- "

Tina scoffed, "There's just no way that you two actually like each other."

She flipped her hair and folded her arms, "It's an act."

"What makes you- "

"There's no way you two got together. It's impossible." Tina then walked away, and Doc and Ren exchanged worried looks.

They knew that if they wanted her to stop, they would have to do better.

Lunch-

"Come on, let's sit with- "

Martyn was confused when Ren led him over to the table where Doc, Tango, and Impulse were sitting.

Etho and Bdubs, who were sitting at their usual table, looked at Ren and Martyn before getting up and joining them.

Ren sat next to Doc, who continued his conversation with Impulse and Tango.

"Wait, hold on." Impulse said as Etho and Bdubs sat down, "Why are you guys here?"

"To stop the rumors from them." Ren said, jerking his head towards the Gossip Girls, "We're acting like we're dating."

"Oh." Impulse said, "That makes sense."

Ren looked over and saw that Tina was shooting them looks.

She clearly saw right through them.

For the next couple of weeks, Ren and Doc did everything they could to make Tina shut up about them.

They started hanging out more and acting like they were dating.

They sometimes sat by themselves at lunch.

They even once held hands in the halls.

It got to the point where even Ren started to believe that they were dating.

Luckily, most everyone stopped talking about them since they all thought Ren and Doc were dating.

But Tina never seemed to let it go, despite all of her friends moving on.

She kept whispering to her friends about them and tried to get people to care about Ren and Doc, but no one did.

Ren and Doc slowly broke out of the lie and became friends, but Ren started to notice something.

Every time Doc did something like laugh or smile, Ren's tail started to wag faster and faster and his face heated up.

"Er- Ren?"

Ren looked up, blushing.

He and Doc were in science class, finishing their project.

"Y-yeah?"

Doc chuckled, "Are you okay? You look really red. Are you sick?"

"I'm fine." Ren said and Doc smiled at him.

"Good. I'm glad."

Ren's tail started wagging and, embarrassed at what it was doing, he tried his best to get it to stop.

"Earth to Ren."

Ren snapped back and looked at Martyn.

"Yes?"

Martyn rolled his eyes and continued to eat his lunch.

"Have you been alright, Ren?" Etho asked, "You keep looking off into space."

"Yeah!" Ren smiled before making a quick glance at Doc.

"I thought you guys ended the lie." Martyn said, "Why do you keep looking at him?"

Ren shrugged and tried to hide his red face by resting his face on his hands.

"Oh," Bdubs said, smirking, "I see."

"What?!" Ren demanded.

Bdubs laughed, "You like him."

"What?!" Etho and Martyn gasped.

Bdubs laughed even harder, "You guys acted like you were boyfriends for a month, both of you really being friends, but now you like him!"

"I do not!"

"I mean... it makes sense." Etho said, looking over at Doc's table.

"Don't all look over there! You'll make it obvious!" Ren said, hiding his face in his hands.

Martyn patted his friend's back, trying to hold in his laughs, "You even kissed him and held hands with him and now you really actually like him!"

"I know!"

"Well, hey," Bdubs said, "Look on the bright side; now people won't be gossiping about you and won't care about you guys being together."

"That's only the bright side if he actually likes me back."

Martyn, Etho, and Bdubs looked over at Doc.

"I could see it." Etho shrugged.

"You guys' suck." Ren muttered.

They all laughed.

"We love you too," Bdubs said, "Now go ask him out!"

"What?! Not now!" Ren hissed, "I can't do it now!"

"Well do it today!"

"No!"

"Why not?" Martyn asked.

"We're just friends."

"I mean, I think you have a chance." Etho said, "Seemed as though he was blushing a lot in your 'relationship'."

Ren looked over at Doc who is a conversation with Impulse.

His heart then skipped a beat as Doc looked over at him and waved.

Ren flushed red and smiled nervously while waving back.

When he turned around his friends laughed at him.

"You look like a tomato!" Martyn said.

"Oh, shut the fuck up." Ren barked.
