Cassie POV

      I walk down the hallway, clutching my books close to my chest, lost in thought.

        Maybe that's why I didn't notice her. Maybe that's why we collided, though in many more ways than one. Starting a chain of events that would change everything.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

       We were headed in the same direction, both not looking at where we were going exactly. Then my books were suddenly lost from my grip and my backside was on the floor. I looked up and saw her towering over me.

       "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." She said. "Are you alright?" She reached out her hand to me, the nails covered in black polish.

     I narrowed my eyes at her, but took the offered hand. "Thanks." I muttered, straightening my white tee and black and white flannel, pulling up my jeans. I noticed she was about my height, 5'3.

     "No problem." She said, and bent to help me gather my books.

    "Are you new?" I asked her. She nodded.

    "Uh, yeah. I'm Bet. Just transferred in from NYC Prep." She replied, standing with my book in hand, pushing her short chin length brown hair behind her ears.

     "Cassie. Welcome to Michael Winchester. Home of the Mighty Spartans....." I say the last part sarcastically. She catches it and smirks, brown eyes narrowing in amusement.

      Then she tilted her head. "Your eyes....they're golden." She says. I look down.

      "Yeah. Um, can I have that back?" I ask pointing to the book. She looks down at it like she's surprised its in her hands.

      "Oh. Yeah. Here." She hands it to me and the warning bell rings.

      "Warning bell. Gotta run.....see you around Bet!" I say running past her.

      "See ya!" She says and I hear her running to.

     I had the dream again that night. The one that had been haunting me for weeks. There was clanging, like the sound of metal against metal, and I was running. The dark tunnel around me shook. Something was coming. Coming for me and I had to run. Protect it. So I run and I run and I run and for some reason.....I am crying.
