Chapter 4- Games

Spinnel chuckled, "I won't ever miss words like 'Let's play a game'...." Sandstone grunted, kicking a bit of sand into the air. Spinnel looked disappointed by her reaction, "You know, me and you aren't too different!" Sandstone gave her a glare, "Not that different?" Sandstone looked away angrily, "How could I be similar to a tainted Spinnel.....?!?!"

Steven backed away, giving the two privacy. "You were left, I was too!" Spinnel said, walking up to Sandstone. "LEFT?!?!" Sandstone spat, tears rolling down her face. "I was tormented with mourn, regret, AND that the fact she was still THERE!" Sandstone hissed, backing away. "Going up to someone you know, that can't even speak, and knowing it's BOTH you and THEIR fault! And then being in a WAR for something they could have STOPPED, but are still standing there, NOT ABLE TO SPEAK OR BREATHE!" More and more tears came rolling down Sandstone's face, angrily, she looked away again.

"I still look at Steven the same way you look at Green." Spinnel emotionally challenged, trying to meet her match. "Do you look at him angrily? So much you wanna break him? Tear him apart? But then ASK WHERE HE'S BEEN?!?! WHERE HE WENT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS IN FRONT OF YOU? HUH, SPINNEL?" Sandstone yelled, summoning her weapon. A rejuvenator, but with TWO spears of ancient gem technology. "You better not....." Spinnel muttered, trying to be in Sandstone's shoes..... But she couldn't, Sandstone had felt WAY worse then she did...... But how?

Silence felt like a blanket over them. Sandstone went into a defensive stance, glaring at Spinnel, her eyes daring Spinnel to make a move. Spinnel looked around, and then stretched out her arms to grab Sandstone. But, instead of Spinnel attacking her..... She pulled her into a hug.

"You should have never felt pain like you did." Spinnel muttered as Sandstone angrily pushed her away. "You don't know how I feel..." Sandstone spat, glaring her gaze away. "That's right, I don't, but I know how it feels to be hurt." Spinnel whispered holding out her arms for another hug. "GET AWAY!" Sandstone yelled, running. Spinnel put her arms by her side in defeat, she tried to make another friend.

Steven went up to Spinnel. "You did the right thing instead of attacking." Steven reassured, sadly smiling. "I haven't even felt HALF of what she feels, and somehow I thought we were similar?" Spinnel asked herself, ignoring Steven. "Here, I'll try talking to her this time." Steven reassured again, getting up. "Okay, half human Diamond prince." Spinnel muttered sarcastically as Steven started to walk away.

Steven followed the sound of running, for the sandy tracks weren't there to show him the way. At last, he found Sandstone. "Go away." Sandstone hissed, standing up. "No. Spinnel's right, she does know how it feels to be hurt, and I do too." Steven said, walking up to Sandstone. "Do you even know what the words GO AWAY mean?" Sandstone spat, swaying.

"You know, I should be shattering all of you and make you all brand new like you were created, and you know I could do that...." Sandstone muttered, looking away. "You can't. Just because you're hurt doesn't mean you can do all that you think." Steven said, angry. "I'm not hurt, I'm not dependent, and sure as ALL OF THE STARS IN THE SKY gonna listen TO YOU, Steven Universe!" Sandstone yelled, whipping around. Silence fell on both of them. "You might be able to win the trust of that tainted Spinnel, but it's gonna cost a gem or two being shattered if you want to gain mine." Sandstone spat again, looking away.

Steven realized she was right, and didn't say anything, Sandstone was hard enough to even think of who she is and she caused confusion. "I'm sorry." He said, trying to make it up. "Sorry for what? I'm the one that turned her to stone, right?" Sandstone laughed while a tear ran down her face. "You were just following orders, right?" Steven asked, trying to put pieces together. Sandstone nodded, and murmured something in gem language.

Steven smiled, but then frowned. "I'm sorry that it happened to you." He said, looking over to her. "And I'm sorry that I had to show you most of the story." Sandstone muttered, crossing her arms. Steven sadly smiled, "If you want to be friends, just let me know." He waved, and Sandstone waved back.
