Chapter Nine: Because It's Fun

(Breakdown POV)

It had been solar-cycles since anything exciting happened in the Nemesis and frankly, I was bored.

I sat in Knockout's and my room throwing obscure things at the younger bot. When I tossed a chunk of discarded metal at the back of his helm he sighed. "I'm bored," he stated. "Really? I haven't noticed," I replied, my voice dripping with sarcasm. Knockout stood up (he was sitting on his bed before) and walked to the center of the room. He flopped down onto the floor, faceplate down, and yelled,"Breakdown! I'm booooooooooord!"

"That's a little obvious," came a voice from outside our room. The door slid open to reveal Dragonfly who nudged Knockout with her pede. "BOOOOOORED!" He yelled again. Dragonfly placed her servo over her faceplate and chucked. "Well, I might just have a cure for your boredom."

Knockout jumped up and said,"I'm scared for my life."

"And you have every reason to be. 'Cmon!" She grabbed Knockout's arm and pulled him out of the room. I rolled my optics and rushed out after the couple. They were rounding a corner when I caught up to them and I heard a crash and Knockout yelling,"Steve!"

"Knockout play nice! Here, let me help you with that," Dragonfly said as she playfully hit Knockout's shoulder and then helped Steve. I shook my helm and Steve walked down the hallway. "So what is this 'cure to boredom' you speak of?" I asked.

"I glad you asked! Be scared, because we are going to play... Truth Or Dare!" Dragonfly grinned at Knockout's terrified expression. "What's the matter, Knockout? Scared?"

"N-no."

"Yes he is," I chimed in. "But anyway," Knockout cut me off,"Three people playing Truth Or Dare is boring."

"OH, STEVE!!!" Dragonfly yelled in a singsong voice, jogging after Steve. "Well. That takes care of that," I stated.

After a few moments of silence I spoke,"You so like her."

"Shut up!"

We had all gathered in an abandoned room with a few dead Scraplets in the corner, so Dragonfly decided to throw a few at Knockout's helm. "Why is everybody throwing things at me today?"

"Because it's fun," Dragonfly chuckled.

Just then the door opened and SoundWave stepped in. "Awkward," Knockout whispered to Dragonfly and me making us snicker. "Speak, child!" Dragonfly said in an overly dramatic voice. "I'm pretty sure he's older then you," I whispered to her. "I know, I'm just trying to get a rise out of him," she replied in an obviously loud whisper.

Then StarScream. "Greetings, Lord High Heels," Dragonfly said with an accent.

Did somebody give her hyper pills this morning?

"Ha-ha," StarScream said in a monotone voice. "SoundWave will be watching you," he glanced at Dragonfly,"too make sure you don't get into any trouble. Am I understood?" Dragonfly rolled her optics and either StarScream didn't catch it, was too dumb to notice, was hiding his frustration REALLY well, or really didn't care. "Only one condition," Dragonfly added. It was StarScream's turn to roll his optics and say,"And what might that be?"

"SoundWave has to play our little game. Truth Or Dare."

"Oh, whatever, sure, he'll play." And with that he walked out, leaving the five bots to play their game.

"Dragonfly goes first!" I blurted out. Dragon walked to the center of the room and sat down with her legs crossed. "Well, come on! It's no fun if you don't sit in a circle!" We all reluctantly sat down in a more of an oval than a circle and Dragonfly started the game. "So, Knockout. Truth or dare?"

"Dare."

"BE AFRAID!" she yelled. "I dare you to paint yourself green for two whole solar cycles." She smirked while Knockout brooded. "You go now."

"Fine. Breakdown, truth or dare?"

Dare! No, you don't want to do anything stupid. But you don't want to tell a secret. Dare.

"Dare."

"I dare you to... Wear an optic patch for two days." Dragonfly snickered and I looked at Steve. "Truth or dare."

"Uh, me?" I nodded at the lower class bot. "Truth."

"What's your real name?" I asked. "There have been rumors."

"My real name," he sighed,"is S-T-3-V-3. Bots grew tired of saying the whole thing so they just made it the closest thing."

"You do realize who you're stuck with now, right?" Dragonfly asked, glancing at a particular mute mech with a visor on. "Scrap..."

"You're going to die," Knockout stated. Dragonfly snaked him on the arm and have him a look.

So a couple.

"T-truth or d-d-dare?"

"Answer: Dare."

"OH MY PRIMUS IT SPOKE! IT LIVES!" Dragonfly spazed out. "Alright-y then, dare away, child."

"Tell him to take his visor off," I whispered to Steve. "No matter what you dare him to do you'll die anyway. Might as well make it good."

"I-I dare you to take y-your visor off."

"Y'ALL ARE GONNA DIEEEEE!!!" Dragonfly screamed. Knockout, Dragonfly, and myself burst out with uncontrollable laughter while Steve curled up in a fetal position, waiting for SoundWave to kill him.

But he didn't. He reached up to his visor and took it off. To everyone's amazement he wasn't horribly disfigured, he didn't have any glitches, he was perfectly normal. Well, normal is relative. "Wow, you're... I'm trying to find a word that means cute, but it doesn't make my sound like I like you," chuckled Dragonfly.

SoundWave slid his visor back on and asked,"Question: Truth or dare?"

"Dare," Dragonfly said without hesitation. "SoundWave: dares you to prank StarScream."

The room filled with,"Oooooo"s and several comments on what to do. Dragonfly stood up and stated,"Let us all now go fulfill our dares."

•••

"Here you go," said Knockout, tossing a optic-patch at me. We were in the Med-bay gathering "supplies" for our dares. I fitted it on my right eye and walked out of the room, bumping into Dragonfly who suddenly asked,"Where's Knockout?"

"His room," I answered and walked in the direction of said place. Dragonfly was walking behind me and after a while she said,"Who is it?"

"Well, I can't tell you that."

"Please tell me?"

"Nope." We rounded a corner to see Knockout. "What a shade of green," Dragonfly commented. "You always liked bright colors," I added. Knockout was now neon green instead of his usual red. "It was the only green, alright? But that optic-patch though."

My lightsparked expression turned sour. "I hate you." And after a moment I added,"All of you."

"So, don't you mechs want to know what I'm going to do to Screamy?"

"Frag yes!" Knockout said like it was the most obvious thing in the universe. "I'm go- you know what? I'm not going to tell you. You get to see when I'm done." Then she went off the play her prank. "You like her."

"Stop saying that!"

"Never."

•••

The next solar-cycle her plan was revealed. We were all jolted out of recharge to the doing of StarScream yelling as loud as possible. Dragonfly dashed into our room and said,"Hide me!" in the process of laughing. "Not many places to hide in here," Knockout said, still waking up.

She dashed out of the room and StarScream arrived a moment later. "WHERE IS THE AUTOBOT?!"

"I dunno," Knockout replied, now faking being half asleep. "GAH!" StarScream stormed out and
I heard rattling out in the hallway. Logical thing to do what you hear mysterious rattling recently after a Scraplet attack- go see what it is.

I stretched and walked out into the hallway to see Dragonfly climbing out of the wall. "I applaud your hiding skills."

"Why, thank you my dear sir." She fitted the panel into the wall and ran the opposite direction of StarScream.
