Prologue: Simpler Times

As the sun set on the horizon, with a slight breeze in the air, a young writer and budding artist sat inside as they created some more art and thought of more story for the art they created.

It was back in 2015...a simpler time for this artist and writer. Just having graduated high school, and going to college in the fall. So they tried to take advantage of the time they had before then to create some more stories and art for a project they were a part of with some friends they had just made online.

It was for an AU of Undertale, an indie game that had just came out at the time. It was to be called AminoTale, and would include those involved in the project as personalized versions of the main characters. But this artist and writer wanted to make their own character for it...even if it looked like a genderbent version of a main character.

...

But then things went wrong. The project was almost cancelled before it even began, and now in the present day it was all but abandoned.

Later, in 2018, the creator became involved in yet another project they had created with their friends from that Amino community, this time in a Magical Girl world with angels and demons and inbetween that inverted a lot of things. The Creator's own creation was a trans girl who would go through the struggle of recently expressing who she truly was and the struggle of her powers being tied to her own emotions.

...But it too was abandoned.

The Creator was saddened that these two projects were abandoned...not intentionally but because of the things called 'life', 'responsibility', and 'lack of time'.

Eventually though...the Creator perhaps thought it best...to just erase their part of those projects. To sever their part of what they had done, to stop hurting from the thought of not being good enough to continue their creations stories or rework their stories to be better and not so depressing.

Now, in 2021, the Creator closed their eyes as they decided to rest for a moment from a long night of work overnight as the sun rose. 'Just a moment...' They thought, as they fell asleep with the disappointment of having once again not created anything at all out of fear of how it would turn out...

And awoke in a strange hall, tiled floor with pillars lining the wall as strange twilight came through stained glass.

And with it...a sense of dread of what was to come.
