➵ Stiles The Fainter

Bang Bang - Green Day

"He's headed to the school." Scott said, reading the text Argent most likely sent him. I sat in the back of the jeep with Liam.

"Why's Parrish headed to the school?" Liam asked, standing up and leaning forward. He looked between Scott and Stiles. I looked at him flabbergasted.

"Liam Dunbar put your seatbelt on!" I scolded, grabbing him by the arm and yanking him down.

"It's not Parrish. At least not right now." Scott answered Liam.

"Okay, why's a hellhound going to the school?" Liam retorted again. I perked an eyebrow at Liam, folding my arms against my chest. He looked up at me and sighed, buckling up. I grinned.

"Cause he's got a yearning for higher education. Liam, hellhound's at the school, so we're going to the school. Okay?" Stiles told Liam. Stiles pushed the clutch forward and pressed the gas, picking up speed.

Stiles pulled the jeep up next to the curb of the school's front entrance. Scott and Stiles got out first. They both pulled their seats forward so Liam and I could get out. I closed the door gently, knowing how Stiles feels about his precious jeep. I walked over to Scott and Stiles. That's when we heard a loud clang. The three of us turned around to face Liam. Stiles slighty squinted his eyes at the younger werewolf.

"Sorry." Liam sighed. We started walking down the sidewalk, looking for Argent. He walked up to us.

"Where's Parrish?" Scott asked Argent.

"I lost him. He's moving too fast." Argent replied. I looked around the area, trying to see if I could see any signs of fire that Parrish may have left behind. Instead, I found something else.

"Scott." Liam spoke before I could. Scott, Stiles and Argent looked at Liam. "That guy's not moving at all."

Scott walked towards the dead body. I followed behind him, licking my lips. We all stopped a few feet away. The poor guy was brutally murdered. His intestines were ripped out, spilling into the wet cement. Blood soaked up the guy's chest covered shirt. Walking around him, we followed the sidewalk towards the buses. Another dead body was on the ground, a couple of feet away from the bus.

"Look." Liam nodded his head towards the bus with the back door open. More dead bodies were in the bus. I swallowed. What in the Hades happened here? One of the dead bodies lifted his head.

"Help me." He weakly breathed out. Scott and I walked forward.

"It's a trap, Nevah." A deep monstrous voice said. I stopped and looked at Parrish. Parrish stood next to the dead body on the floor, staring at the bus. Scott looked at me in confusion. Why did he tell me to stop? Why not Scott?

"Please..." The injured boy feebly begged. Scott took another step forward.

"You can't help him." Parrish turned his head to face us. A sickening ripping sound came from the bus. The boy's split body fell onto the floor, his organs spilling out. I jumped back, to surprised to do anything other than tap my charm. The Beast snarled and growled. It's blue eyes staring at us as it stood up in the bus.

"That's big. No one said it was that big." Stiles spoke. I rapidly nodded my head in agreement, nervously twirling my sword.

"I did." Liam muttered to Stiles, still eyeing the Beast. The huge Beast roared. Parrish bellowed back, setting ablaze again. Parrish ran alongside the bus. The Beast ran towards the front of the bus, jumping through the windshield. Glass shattered as it broke. Parrish sprinted after the Beast, getting farther away from us.

"What the hell's happening?" Scott asked.

"It's getting smarter."

"Mason said it's not just to transmit frequency. It's high powered. Like it has to be a really strong signal." Liam said, sitting down in one of the tables of the library.

"And that's causing it to shift?" Lydia asked.

"No. I don't think it's just that. Last night Argent said that it's getting smarter." Scott spoke, leaning against the table. "What if the Dread Doctors are trying to make the Beast grow faster?"

"With frequencies?" Stiles questioned, pursing his lips.

"No, by shifting. The frequency is just the trigger. The important part is when it shifts into the werewolf." Scott explained.

"Like Peter." Lydia added.

"Right. Yeah, when Peter was an Alpha, he got stronger every full moon. Eventually, the burns healed and he was back to normal." Scott continued.

"So the Dread Doctors don't want to wait for the full moon." Liam looked up at Scott.

"They want the Beast to be as strong as possible, as fast as possible." I confirmed. Scott nodded.

"Because of Parrish." Liam added.

"So if this is happening tonight, what are we going to do?" Lydia asked.

"Uh, we've got one clue to go on." Stiles raise one finger into the air. He went into his backpack and pulled out a piece of paper. It was a pictured of the bloody shoe print from the hospital with a yellow measuring tape beside it. Setting it in the middle of the table, Stiles continued. "This came from the hospital. Whoever's lurking inside the Beast is wearing a size ten of indeterminate make."

"Indeterminate?" Lydia looked at Stiles, her cheek against her hand.

"Oh, I know this one!" I grinned. Thank you Annabeth. "Means, it's a partial print."

"Basically," Stiles nodded at my brief definition. "It was all we were able to get considering all the fire, blood and carnage."

"How many size tens are out there?" Scott quizzed.

"Only one with Parrish's blood on the sole." Stiles talked with his hands.

"So, are we going to try to get the game canceled?" Liam retorted, fiddling with his thumbs.

"No, no, we're going to play, but we're just going to hope really hard that it doesn't turn into a blood-soaked massacre." Stiles tucked his bottom lip in between his teeth. I gave him a look.

"Okay, but, um...aren't we kind of missing out on a chance to catch this thing?" Liam looked at Scott who stood up. "We don't have the 'who', but we have the 'where' and the 'when'."

"There's too many people." Scott informed. Lydia pursed her lips.

"And we still don't actually know if it's going to happen. It just might end up being a regular lacrosse game. It's possible, right?" Lydia hoped, looking at the four of us.

"That's absolutely possible." Stiles pressed his fist against his mouth before spastically jerking his head slightly forward.

"So we're still getting the game canceled?" I hoped. Liam nodded in agreement.

"We're getting the game canceled."

"Mason you know your part..." Scott looked at Mason. Most of the pack, excluding Lydia, and I were in a classroom. Mason, Liam, Kira and I were sitting on the stools of the lab table. Stiles was sitting on a table closest to the chalkboard while Malia leaned against the wall. Scott was standing in the middle of us all. Kira, Scott, Stiles and Liam all dressed in their lacrosse uniforms.

"Corey and I break into the Devenford bus and search their shoes." Mason said.

"I take out the TV vans." Malia pushed herself off the wall and walked forward with her arms crossed against her chest.

"Right before the whistle, Coach forfeits the game." Stiles looked up at Scott.

"The rest of us are looking for a size ten with a bloody sole." Liam added. Scott smiled and nodded.

"Just out of curiosity...what if it doesn't work?" Malia asked.

"Malia, your Negative Nancy is showing." I licked my lips.

"What if we have to go up against this thing again? I mean, I hate to bring up bad memories but Scott's still healing from what Theo did to him." Malia continued, looking at everyone.

"No, he's not." Kira spoke up. She looked up at Malia.

"She's right." Scott confirmed. He lifted up his shirt to show clean skin. No signs of injuries. Scott pulled his jersey down. "It happened the night we got Lydia out of Eichen House. I healed. When were all together again, when we were a pack."

"The Beast doesn't have a pack." Liam inputted.

"Not like us." Scott said after licking his lips. "We can do this, guys. No one dies tonight."

Lori, Brett's younger sister, and I were behind the bleachers looking at the bottom of people's shoes. We were hunched over as we inspected, walking underneath the bleachers. The whistle blew and the crowd cheered. Some people shot up to their feet and applauded for their teams. I grumbled. Great. This just got harder.

"Okay, maybe we should split up. You get one set of the bleachers and I get the other. We'll cover more quickly." I whispered to Lori. She looked at me and nodded. "I'll go to the other one."

I got out from being underneath the bleachers and ran to the other set. Loud grunts and groans followed by thuds came from the lacrosse field. Stopping, I turned to look at the game to see Devenford players lying on the ground. I looked over at Scott and Stiles with wide eyes. Stiles caught me looking at him. I spastically waved over to the injured players. Stiles winced and pointed towards Kira. Her eyes were glowing orange underneath her helmet.

"Ah great." I grumbled. Liam went in for another player, running straight to Scott. Scott nodded to what Liam told him and went to the middle of the field. Brett and Scott both crouched down, their sticks flat on the ground. The whistle blew and Brett scooped up the ball. He ran towards the net. Kira sprinted towards him. Brett ran straight to her, shoving her to the ground. The crowed all gasped.

Brett turned around to face her, saying something. This didn't make Kira happy. She raised her stick and swung it at Brett's helmet causing it to fly. Brett landed onto his back. The ref went to Kira and told her to get off the field. Kira walked off the fields, heading my way. She shoved her shoulder into mine, making me stumble. I looked at her wide eyes. Lori walked up next to me, staring at Kira. Lori looked back at Scott. Scott nodded his head. Lori took a step forward to go after her, but I caught her arm.

"Be careful. Her fox is controlling her. The fox is pretty lethal and won't hesitate to harm you." I told her.

"Got it. You're going to be okay with the shoes and the bleachers?" Lori asked. I smiled.

"That's easy. Just be careful." I let Lori's arm go and she ran off, following Kira.

I was still checking for a bloody sole. Nothing. Nothing so far. I sighed, running a hand through my hair. I just needed to check two more shoes and then the bleachers are cleared. I looked up to see that one of them was Hayden. It can't be Hayden, Liam was with her when they both saw the Beast. I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder. I went to grab their hand, twisting it behind their back.

"Ow. It's me, gah. It's just me. Ow." Stiles muttered. I immediately dropped his hand and sheepishly smiled.

"Sorry." I whispered. Stiles rubbed his wrist, licking his lips.

"Who's left?" I pointed to the black converse. Walking forward, Stiles went to pick up the shoe. The person moved their foot away. Making a face, Stiles put his hand underneath the shoe and lifted it up. Once again, the person moved their foot away. Stiles roughly grabbed the shoe and tried to look at the sole. The person kicked it away. I stifled a laugh, covering up my mouth.

"Oh, you think this is funny?" Stiles murmured at me.

"Hilarious." I grinned. Stiles narrowed his eyes at me. He grabbed the shoe again, pulling it towards him. The person kicked their foot away, resulting with Stiles hitting his head on a metal bar. My mouth dropped as a hallow clang sounded. "Stiles. Are you okay?"

"Ow." Stiles said, holding a hand against his forehead. He stumbled away from underneath the bleachers, using the metal rods to keep him steady. I followed after him, he seems clumsier than usual. He stopped next to the side rails of the bleachers. Then he fainted. I let out a tiny shriek and went to go help him up.

"Stiles? Stiles are you okay?" I shook him. He groaned and fluttered his eyes.

"I'm great." He muttered, blinking. He tried to stand up but he stumbled a bit. I gave him a look. "I'm totally fine."

"Stay here, I'll go get you an ice pack or something." I helped him up and leaned him against the bleachers. Once I knew he wouldn't faint again, I ran to the nurse station they had with the concession stand. I walked up to the stand and saw that it was currently abandoned. Tilting my head to the side, I looked around. No one was here. They won't miss an ice pack...right? Quickly grabbing one from the ice chest, I ran back towards Stiles. I gently placed it to the bump her grew. "Here."

"Thanks." Stiles muttered, staring at me as he raised his hand to hold the ice pack. I let go once he pressed it against is head. Stiles sighed, making a face as he propped his elbow against the bleachers.

"No problem." A loud ringing screeched throughout the area. Stiles pulled the ice pack away from his head, covering his ears. I flinched, covering my own. Stiles and I looked on the field to check on Liam. Liam's eyes glowed yellow and let out a soft growl. Liam ran past us and towards the bus.

"Liam. Liam, wait!" Stiles called out. Liam jumped off the ground, raising his hand. The Beast was in mid-air, it's own arm raised to attack.

"Liam! You idiot." I groaned, pressing my charm. My sword grew in my hand. Sighing, I ran after Liam, knowing very well that I was going to have to save his werewolf butt.

"Nevah! Wait!"
