Chapter 4 - Stolen Away
POV: Grian
Location: Evo server - portal to 1.7.10(or something like that)
I smiled as I looked at my friends. It was time to finish the portal to the next update.
"Would we stay in this version if I placed it right here?" SystemZee asked, bedrock in hand as he circled an incorrect spot on the ground.
Everyone laughed a bit while I answered, "No-" but was cut off by InTheLittleWood saying, "What's that you love, 1.3.2?" Everyone laughed at that and I ran up to the portal while InTheLittleWood ran down.
"Alright, I'll go first," I said, bedrock in hand.
Someone mentioned how they loved that someone else had TNT in their hand while I broke the glass where I needed to place the bedrock.
It was part of the top dot and I jumped up and placed the bedrock.
Some people congratulated him and InTheLittleWood ran up to place his bedrock.
He let out a little "Boop!" as he placed it and ran back down to everyone else.
"Zee," I urged, telling him that it was his turn.
SystemZee ran up, bedrock in hand, but MiniMuka ran up as he broke the glass shouting, "Wait, wait! I don't want to go back! I don't want to go, I don't want to go." Some people laughed at that as he returned to his spot by everyone else, a smile on his face at the joke he made.
"Go on," I encouraged Zee.
SystemZee placed the bedrock and the portal activated.
Someone said, "There we go," while everyone reacted to it activating in different ways.
InTheLittleWood ran in first and fell down the hole behind the portal, shouting "Cowabunga!"
I followed quickly, a grin on my face as I shouted "Geronimo!" as I fell.
We all fell down, excited for the next update.
~Time Skip~
I managed to defeat the wither and I stated, "I remember the Wither being way harder than that. They must've made him super easy in this version." I picked up the nether star and smiled.
Later
It was time to defeat the ender dragon. On the way through the portal, we got separated and each had to defeat our own ender dragon.
Finally, with a large usage of beds and arrows shooting the ender dragon's healing crystals, I killed him.
Tons of XP fell where he died, a portal and an ender dragon egg appearing on the ground. I ran up to it, a proud grin on my face.
"Guess that's the End... Completed," I said as well as a few other things.
"It's been fun," I said to no one in particular before jumping into the portal.
The end screen appeared in my face, as it was supposed to. However, instead of the credits for the creation of Minecraft, it was a conversation that everyone seemed to see.
I narrowed my eyes as I saw the words "'Watcher 1' and 'Watcher 2.'" Why does the name Watcher seem familiar? I wondered.
The conversation went on for a while. The Watchers seemed to be reminiscing about Evo, but I could tell there were darker motives behind their words. It came with being a Prime Admin.
They mentioned me and a few mistakes I made with the Watchers in the past.
Watcher 2 mentioned that they were getting off-topic and Watcher 1 got it back on track.
That was when we all realized we had each killed our own ender dragon.
Soon, Watcher 1 said, "When you return, nothing will be the same. You will have to find a new way to survive."
"But you will also have to go on with one less of you, Ten will become nine," Watcher 2 said, making my heart drop.
"That's right. Evolution will continue, progress will be made but without the empire. Grian will have to be taken." Watcher 1's words made my heart stop.
I suddenly remembered why the Watcher symbol seemed so familiar. It was the mark of the admins' enemy. I wanted to get out. I wanted to yell that I didn't choose this.
"Well, he won't really be leaving will he? He'll still be watching," Watcher 2 said.
Watcher 1 replied, "Of course he will. He'll be joining us."
Watcher 2 said, "Maybe we should take him now?"
"Let's wait until the end," Watcher 1 decided.
I watched in horror as the Watchers bid the Evolutionists farewell.
"Grian, I think it is time for you to come with us now," Watcher 1 said, addressing me.
"Yeah, I think so too," Watcher 2 agreed.
I felt my body grow still and the armor surrounding my body disappear. I ascended to join them, a false sense of calm falling over my mind. However, my subconscious was still screaming at me to get out of there but there was nothing I could do.
The Watchers stayed silent as I arrived, both of them watching as their name implied.
"Welcome, friend. Would you like to send them on?" Watcher 1 said, looking at me through their pale purplish-white mask.
"It would be my pleasure," I found myself saying. I turned to the Evolutionists, a mask appearing on my own face. "Good luck everyone, I am sad that this is my fate.. But I want you to remember my heart will be with you all, and I will still be on the server in your hearts and in spirit. Good luck in the next chapter of Minecraft Evolution. I look forward to watching you all."
My words came from my mouth but I did not choose them. It was a trick to get the Evolutionists to move on without me.
The trick worked. The Evolutionists faded from sight, leaving me with the two Watchers.
I turned to look up at them, a look of false serenity on my face.
Their faces twisted into cruel grins. "Welcome, Xelqua," The first said, the one with a braid.
Then, everything went dark, my memories of the times before Evo vanishing. I was left as a stolen soul.
(939 or so words)
(A/N Here we go! To the part I've been wanting to write from the start!)
(Also, I legit went to Grian's last Evo video just to get the scenes in this mostly right. I prefer things to be mostly accurate XP)
