Chapter 20 - Scars
(Two updates in a day or so? Wowww)
POV: EX/Verix
Location: Scar's base
I put a hand up to my mouth, realizing what I did. Scar stared at me in shock.
"I'm a bit rusty in Galactic but..." he trailed off, his eyes wide. "You shouldn't be able to know it."
I let out a quiet growl and turned away.
"You asked why my aura is purple, how can you see it?" I asked without looking at him. "Well..." Scar said hesitantly.
I turned to look at him and stepped back in shock. Pale blue wings spread behind his back, his eyes glowing white. "Y-You're a Vex," I stammered. He smiled slyly and made his Vex attributes disappear, the glow of his eyes vanishing. "Vex-cursed player, yes," he replied.
"Now, what are you?" he asked, crossing his arms. I sighed and turned away. "I can't say," I said with a frown. "Why not?" Scar asked quietly.
An image of myself and Grian-Xelqua- tortured and bleeding out appeared in my mind. I couldn't say anything.
Quietly, I answered, "I may get in danger." Scar fell silent. He let out a sigh. "I won't ask," he said, looking away. "Thank you," I quietly said, relief filling my voice.
He remained silent for a few moments until asking, "EX, where's Mumbo?" I turned to look at him, my surprised expression hidden from his view. "He hasn't responded to anyone's messages since yesterday and I find out you just suddenly came here... I wanted to ask," Scar said, holding his wrist.
I sighed, my shoulders dropping a bit. "I wanted to see what I could do and I possessed him. He had less magic than I thought he did and he reacted badly... I didn't mean to hurt him," I answered quietly, guilt filling my voice as I looked away. Scar smiled sadly. "Will he live?" he asked. I nodded in reply. "Then you don't have to worry about it," he said, his smile growing.
I looked at him and met his gaze. "How do you stay so positive?" I asked. He shrugged. "I know what it's like to be in bad situations and I've learned it helps to look on the bright side," he answered. His voice quieted and his smile faded as he continued, "I know what it's like to be hurt."
He shook his head and perked up. "But there's no point in dwelling on the past because you can't change it. What you can change is the present. You are in control," he said, his smirk returning. I smiled a bit and nodded. "Thanks, Scar," I said quietly, a hint of gratitude in my voice.
I sighed and closed my eyes for a moment. "Grian was watching him this morning. Stress has probably taken over for him by now," I said. Scar nodded slowly. "You'd better go find him," he suggested. "He could probably use your comfort." I nodded and turned away.
I quickly gave him back his elytra. "I think I have enough durability on the one Grian gave me to make it back to the Shopping District," I said to him. He nodded. "Stay safe, EX. And don't let the other hermits get to you," Scar said. "They only remember you for what you did rather than what you are now." I nodded. "Thanks, Scar," I said with a slight smile. He smiled. "Any time," he replied.
"Bye," I said, walking off. "Bye," he replied.
I spread my elytra and rocketed off, remaining close to the water so that if it broke as I was gliding down to the ground, I wouldn't fall, crash, and possibly die.
I made it back but my elytra broke just before I reached the land. I crashed into the water, letting out a quiet gasp at the cold temperature. I swam to land and dried myself off, pulling the broken elytra off.
I realized I wouldn't be able to make it to Grian's base without an elytra so I headed to the nearest nether portal. However, once inside the nether hub, I got a bit lost. It took me a while to actually find Grian's portal and go inside.

~POV CHANGE~
I blinked my eyes wearily and shook my head, trying to get rid of the cloud of sleep over my brain.
I looked up as my communicator beeped and lifted my arm to look at it.
The notification said that it was from a Prime Admin. My eyes widened as I tapped on the notification.
Prime Admin Myriel: Announcement for all admins. An Admin meeting will be held immediately. Come to the Admin HQ. We have much to discuss.
My mouth gaped open as I read it. I shut it and realized I needed to leave immediately.
I went to the Hermitcraft chat on my communicator and typed something out.
Xisuma: All hermits, I have to leave the server for a while. If there are any problems, notify Scar or Tango.
ZombieCleo: what about Mumbo? I thought he is put in charge when you have to leave the server for a bit
I sighed, knowing I had to tell them.
Xisuma: Mumbo has been accidentally hurt. If you see EX, don't do anything to him. He did it but it was by mistake.
joehillsays: Mumbo's hurt?!
docm77: that's not good
Zedaph: oh no!!
Xisuma: he's fine though. Like I said, if there are any problems, take them to Scar or Tango.
I turned off my communicator and stood up, my gaze running around the room. Guess I have to make the portal, I thought.
I walked over to an empty area in my base and closed my eyes. My hands glowed purple as I formed the portal. Soon, a pale golden rectangle of light hovered in front of me.
Letting out a hesitant breath, I stepped forward, disappearing into the portal. Once I was through, it closed shut.
Xisuma has left the game.
I opened my eyes to see the portal room of the Admin HQ. I stepped out of the portal and looked around, surprised at the number of admins coming out of the portals.
I went down the stairs of the Hermitcraft portal and followed the crowd of admins to the Meeting room.
After a short while of walking, I made it to the large meeting room. I headed inside and went to sit down in the Echelon Ostrum section.
I looked around as the seats began to fill. Once everyone was inside, the doors of the Meeting room shut. As usual, I was surprised to see that the table had the exact number of seats needed for all the admins.
I looked to the front of the table as the female member of Echelon Auraruis stood from her chair.
"We have an urgent matter to discuss," she began, her gaze sweeping over the large number of admins seated at the table. I noticed with a feeling of respect that she didn't seem daunted by the large numbers.
"As you may know, Prime Admin Heroth has recently retired. He is not joining us tonight because he has already done his duty to Minecraft. However, as some of you may be aware of this, we used to have three Prime Admins. 7 years ago, we had a meeting that notified you of the departure of the Third Prime Admin. However, he has not returned since." A few gasps sounded around the room and Myriel had to raise her hand for silence. "A few years ago, we launched an attack on the Watcher Academy and lost. However, we found something out. Those who lasted till the end of the fight will remember the Initiate with the golden magic." She paused, her gaze running over the number of admins again. She spoke again, her voice growing quieter, "I have reason to believe that the Watcher Initiate with golden magic is the Third Prime Admin." A shocked silence fell over the table. My eyes widened as I stared at the now-First Prime Admin.
Someone raised their hand. I noticed it was Hypixel. She allowed him to speak. "How do we know this for certain?" he asked, a dubious look on his face. "The Initiate looked nearly identical to the Third Prime Admin. And, it is also very rare for a Watcher Initiate to have golden magic so early in the Years," she explained.
"He wasn't that young," some admin commented. "In order to become full Watchers, Initiates go through 6 years of training. That generation of Initiates was in Year 3," Myriel replied. "So basically," another admin began. "He wasn't supposed to have golden magic." Myriel nodded and answered, "If he was a normal Initiate, he wouldn't have had golden magic."
"What I want you to do is keep an eye out for someone with an odd aura. He is definitely out of Year 6 and has been sent to a server. He may be accompanied by another Watcher but we do not know. Be careful, I do not think he remembers being an Admin," she warned, her voice growing a bit quiet as she finished the sentence.
My brain began to run at a million kilometers an hour as I tried to wrap my head around what she said. One thing came to mind. Could he be...? My eyes widened again. No... He can't... He could. EX was at the Academy. So was the Initiate. EX never had the chance to meet him before the Academy because he was on Hermitcraft. I froze in shock. Who is Grian?
"Minecraft needs him. Keep your eyes out. Meeting adjourned," Myriel said, breaking through my thoughts.
She sat down and the other admins stood. I glanced at Myriel as I stood and she met my gaze. She knows, I thought with wide eyes.
I turned and walked out the door, aware of Myriel's gaze following me until I was out of sight.
The journey back to the Hermitcraft portal was barely noticed as I tried to figure everything out.
I entered and was sent back to Hermitcraft.
Xisuma has joined the game.
The pale golden portal appeared long enough for me to step out before disappearing again.
I walked over to my bed and sat down, my head starting to hurt with all of the thoughts.
I let out a mildly frustrated growl as I pulled off my helmet, setting it down beside me.
I leaned over, my elbows on my knees, and my hands placed on my forehead.
I looked up as I heard a sound and spotted someone wearing red standing in the doorway. He came inside, his expression hidden by his helmet.
"So," he began. EX pulled off his helmet, his white and black hair falling out and gathering around his shoulders. "We do not look like twins."
I let out a chuckle and nodded. "No, not really," I replied, running a hand through my brown hair.
He came over and sat down beside me, setting his helmet beside mine.
"How'd the meeting go?" he asked, setting his elbows on his thighs and clasping his hands together. I stared at him with a suspicious look. "How'd you know about the meeting?" I asked in reply. He chuckled. "I felt you using the admin magic to leave. Normally, you don't have to use that much to leave the server," he answered. I nodded. "Yeah."
I cleared my throat. "Well, uh..." I paused, trying to figure out what to say. "We found out that a Watcher Initiate from your generation might be a Prime Admin," I said quickly to just get it out. He froze, his eyes widening. "You know who it is, don't you?" I asked, reading his expression.
He stood and took a few steps away, anxiously running his hand through his hair. "Uhm, yeah," he answered. "Do you?" he countered, looking at me. I nodded. "I have a guess, yes." EX blinked. "Are you going to tell him you know?" he asked. I shook my head. "He doesn't even know," I answered. EX nodded. "I can see that," he said.
"I mean, they did wipe our memories of what came before our last server. Or at least, they were supposed to," he trailed off a bit during the last sentence.
"How do you think you're supposed to get your memories back?" I asked quietly. He turned away and sighed. "I don't know," he answered.
I stood and walked over to him. Before he could react, I pulled him into a hug. His arms stuck out behind me for a few moments while his brain tried to catch up. However, he wrapped them around me when it had caught up.
"We'll figure it out, okay?" I said. He sniffled slightly and nodded. "Thanks, Xisuma," he said quietly.
"No problem, Evander."

(Have some brotherly happiness! <3)
(Hope you enjoyed!)
(Also, the meeting is what I wanted to fit into this chapter when writing the last one but I didn't think I'd be able to since I had to finish the stuff with Scar and EX. Turns out, I had enough space for it! :D)
