Chapter 16 - Arrival
POV: Grian
Location: Hermitcraft season 6
I let out a surprised gasp as I stumbled out of the portal onto the green grass.
Verix fell beside me and looked around in surprise.
He immediately got up and started looking around, his face now covered with his gray helmet.
"What-" I coughed, remembering to stop speaking in Galactic. "What is it Verix?" I asked with concern in my eyes as I stood up.
"This server... Is controlled... By Xisuma." Verix's gaze snapped to look at me, causing my skin to crawl slightly in discomfort.
"H-How do you know?" I stammered in confusion.
He looked away with a growl. "We're twins. I just know these things," he replied.
He looked back at me. "I'm sorry, Grian," he said, using my first name. "I'll be around but you must not let anyone know I'm here. Please."
I sighed and nodded. "Fine," I replied reluctantly.
He let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you." He turned to walk away but paused and glanced back at me. "Also, call me EX now. Xisuma may end up explaining that to you," he said before running off into the trees and disappearing.
I turned to look at the portal from where I stood halfway down the hill it was on.
It began to glow a bit and I watched in surprise as a bunch of people just lagging out of the portal.
"Oh. My. Goodness." I said, backing away a bit in fear of all of the people. "Many people are lagging out of a portal," I said with a laugh, causing others to laugh as well.
A bunch of people questioned who I was and I replied with, "Hello!" rather than really answering.
My gaze was drawn to one person in particular as they yelled, "For Sparta!" and ran at me, giving me a small push that sent me backward a few blocks. He immediately apologized by saying, "Sorry, I just felt that when we ran to you." He ran back up the hill, leaving me chuckling.
Someone oddly familiar said, "I've got a lilac for you," and placed a lilac bush beside me.
"Oh thank you," I said, getting distracted by wondering why she seemed familiar.
I heard someone say, "Wrong server everybody, back in the portal," and I laughed along with some other people.
Some more jokes were made and I finally got to ask the question I needed an answer to.
"Uh, how does... Hermitcraft... Work?" I asked before laughing.
Someone exclaimed, "Non functionally!"
An older looking hermit said, "Like a great big psychotic dysfunctional family."
My attention was drawn to someone very familiar when they said, "I'm not sure about psychotic but okay." I realized that it was the admin I had saved during the attack.
I reasked my question and Xisuma began to go off on a short tangent to try and explain it to me. He told me to ask the question again, which I did, and summed it up by saying, "It's us playing Minecraft together, geez."
I chuckled with the others and noticed that the same girl from before gave me some seeds. I thanked her and finished meeting everyone.
Then, everyone scattered. Xisuma gave me a map of the island we would be staying on as well as a compass before leaving. I decided where I wanted to go and headed out.
As I watched some of the hermits joking around by attempting to push each other out of the boats, I smiled and decided, I'm going to like it here.

~POV CHANGE~
I looked through my purple-tinted visor at the newest hermit before leaving with a wave.
As I headed to my new home, I began to wonder why he seemed so familiar. However, no matter how hard I tried, I could not figure out where I knew Grian from. It was a bit frustrating but I didn't let it get to me too much. I figured I would figure it out eventually.
I found a place to stay and soon created a starter base that would last me a while.
Things seemed good.

~POV CHANGE AND TIME SKIP CUZ THE START IS KINDA BORING~
I looked up at my work-in-progress base and smiled, already proud of the three tiers I had made so far.
I headed inside the big one and down over to my terribly unorganized storage system, my new elytra serving me well.
As I searched through my pile of Shulker boxes, I came across the one that contained all of my items from the Academy. I panicked for a moment before remembering that non-Watchers couldn't see Watcher items unless the Watcher in the server was revealed.
I relaxed and continued searching through the Shulker boxes for the items I was looking for, a chicken mask, and a bunch of eggs.
I found them and grinned, knowing what my new plans for the day were.
I soared high above the Shopping District in search of hermits to prank. I spotted someone and tried to see who it was. It was Xisuma.
I giggled and swooped closer to the ground before beginning to fire eggs at him.
He let out a surprised yelp as the eggs hit him and baby chickens began appearing around him.
He looked up at me and laughed. "Hey Grian!" he called.
I laughed too. "Sorry, I don't know a Grian!" I called in reply before spamming more eggs and flying off.
He chuckled to himself, glad I was having a good time, then moved on with what he was doing.
After spamming eggs at a few more hermits, including Stress and Doc, I moved on and returned home.
I took off the mask with a smile and hid it in one of my chests.
I had used all of my eggs so I knew I needed to stock up on those again if I wanted to go out and do that again.
Poultry Man wasn't leaving any time soon.

~TIME SKIP AND POV CHANGE~
Grian gazed up at the G-Team base, a smile on his face. The Civil War had just ended the day before and he was proud to say G-Team won.
He turned to look over at Team S.T.A.R.'s base and noticed some of the members in front of it, likely doing the same thing Grian was doing: reminiscing.
Grian spread his elytra and soared over to them.
As he got closer, he realized it was Xisuma, Doc, and Ren.
Xisuma looked up and saw him, waving friendlily at the red-clad hermit.
Doc and Ren noticed him next and greeted him as he landed.
"Hey Grian," Ren said with a smile.
"Hey," he replied. "Reminiscing?"
Ren smiled more while Doc just listened, Xisuma's expression unreadable because of his helmet.
"I think the war is a bit too recent for us to be reminiscing but it still feels right to be here," Ren replied.
Grian smirked and nodded. "Even though we were enemies in the prank war, I'd never actually want us to be real enemies," he said, getting slightly sad and rubbing his wrist with his opposite hand.
To his surprise, Doc replied, "It would turn into a real war and things would be a million times worse than the Civil War." He smirked, his arms crossed as he looked at Grian.
He chuckled. "Good thing that's not going to happen any time soon," he replied. Doc and Ren nodded in agreement while Xisuma wandered off, his gaze fixed on the base.
"You okay, Xisuma?" Grian asked, his smile fading as he looked at the admin.
He turned to look at him and chuckled nervously. "Yeah, I'm fine. It was good seeing you, Grian," he replied, clearly not okay.
However, he didn't want to pry. "Okay," he said before putting on a forced smile. "Well, see you guys later!"
With a wave, Grian rocketed off into the sky and to the nearest nether portal.
His gaze ran over the battlefield, memories of the battle still fresh in his mind.
He smiled and headed into the portal once he reached it.
The new server was treating him well and he didn't want to ever leave.
But sometimes, they don't have a choice.
