Janet's P. O. V

"What do you think you were doing?" Kiara asks me while I run to the window and look for the two guys.

I stomp my foot and push at the wall in anger.

Those guys escaped, again. I missed catching these sneaky people for the third time now. I now seriously want to know who the hell this is.

"Janet!" Kiara screams this time and I snap out of my thoughts, a little shaken up.

"Yeah, I-uh came looking for Andrew and Delna when I didn't spot them back stage," I say the truth because lies haven't been working out for me.

"Are you sure that's what you were doing?" Kiara asks me, her tone soft but stern and I roll my eyes.

"This is what I was doing, you don't have to believe me though," I say sarcastically and her expression softens.

"Guys, common, results are getting announced," Jason announces and I nod at him before giving Kiara one last look and walking out.

I walk towards the auditorium and I hear footsteps behind me along with hushed whispers.

Yeah, talk talk like I'm an alien. But, where did Delna and Andrew go away?

"Qualifying at the second position is Crescent High School," the compere announces and everyone around me screams and yells. The backstage team is hugging each other, Kiara and Jason are hugging each other tightly and rest are clapping and howling.

I am just too overwhelmed to actually react. I can feel my wide smile and the long stuck breath slowly leaving my mouth. I can feel my hands suddenly relaxing a little and I'm starting to feel normal again.

Kiara and Jason must have realised their hugging because they sprang apart and Kiara came and hugged me awkwardly. I hugged her back awkwardly.

I hate this.

And the reason of all this mess is not even here. I won't lie, I expected him to be here with his team, but he just disappeared. Like it doesn't even matter a little to him.

Andrew and Delna have been hugging and having their moment ever since the announcement. We had found them in the auditorium itself when we had returned.

Weird.

Kiara pulls back and focuses her attention on Delna and Andrew, avoiding turning towards Jason. Jason also seems to be looking everywhere but in our direction.

"Alright guys, I suggest you'll get a room," Kiara says while waving her hands frantically and that's when the two realise what they were doing. They both pull back but keep staring into each others eyes.

Kiara sighed."Okay, I rest my case."

I smile at them slightly and the moment on the beach flashes in my head.

What was that really? Over time, so many things changed. So much happened between the both of us. Or maybe it happened only for me.

No, that can't be possible. The teasing, the moment in my room, the moment at the costume shop, the rehearsals and then finally the beach, all this involved the both of us. It can't be only me.

But why is he running away from it?

"Janet, walk faster will you?" Kiara hollers from ahead.

I snap out of my thoughts and nod my head.

"Don't worry, I'll walk with her," Jason walks up to me and she nods awkwardly before looking ahead.

I catch the exchange and see a smile very slowly creep up on Jason's face. I shake my head.

We, the drama team minus you-know-who, are going to the Great Escape to celebrate our win. The team with all its high spirits is walking ahead while I, in my not so high spirits, am walking behind.

"Don't shake your head at us Janet. You shouldn't now at least," Jason says and I narrow my eyes at him.

"What do you mean?" I ask and unconsciously, Justin Bieber pops into my head.

"What I mean is, now even you like someone, so you should know what it is like when you have feelings for someone," he says and I immediately look away before looking down at my feet.

"I-uh don't know what you are talking about," I say and he chuckles. I am still looking the other way, avoiding his gaze.

"Yeah, whatever you say Janet. Actions speak louder than words. Your eyes looking for him back at the auditorium when we won, he following- I mean, a few of his gestures for you during the rehearsals, they all talk for themselves," he says and I stare at him with narrowed eyes.

"Look at you. Who would have believed that a few weeks ago, your life mission was to be invisible," I say and he half smiles.

"Let's just say a lot has changed," he says and makes a circle around himself with his hand.

I smile.

Truer words haven't been spoken.

"Yeah, alot has changed," I say and my mind goes back to my previous thoughts.

"So, are you going to ask her out or no?" I ask Jason and he jerks his head in my direction, his eyes a little wide.

I laugh at his reaction."Two minutes ago you were talking like a love expert and one question brings you back to a few weeks ago," I say with a smile and his expression calms a little. He takes a breath, trying to retain his composure.

"I'll have to speak to my love expert if I want to do that..." he says and I narrow my eyes at him.

"What a hypocrite Jason! You didn't want me or Delna to interfere in this and now you have a love expert!" I say, putting a dramatic hand on my chest.

"Hey! It's just a little good boy-to-boy advice okay?" he defends himself and I roll my eyes.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night. Anyway, who is this love expert?" I ask and he smiles.

"It's easy to guess," he says and I just stare at him, my mind blank. He gives me a dead pan look when I don't say anything.

"Common! Is it that difficult? Didn't you notice the sudden bonding between me and Steven!" he says and I nod really slowly, realisation dawning upon.

"Oh yes, I remember that little exchange between the both of you on that day at the rehearsal when you first walked in in the new avatar," I recall, the incident playing in my head.

"It did strike me as peculiar but I dismissed it, thinking it's some boy-to-boy bonding," I say, quoting him from some time ago.

I look away, my mind strolling back to those unwanted thoughts again. Beside me, I hear Jason sigh.

"Janet, on a serious note, all I want to say is, be careful. Think about it," he says and I turn to him with a confused expression, unaware of the direction of this conversation.

He must have understood because he then elaborated."What I mean is, that while I don't agree with Kiara and your other friends regarding Steven and your relationship, I'm scared they are not entirely wrong. He has got some dangerous secrets and anyone near him is subject to danger. Janet, he's not a bad guy and I know that he will protect you no matter what or die in the attempt, but are you sure you want that? For the both of you. Think about it. And know, that whatever your decision, I'll always support you," Jason said and I couldn't help the smile on my face. I wanted to hug him but I wasn't sure of it.

"Thanks you Jason, you have no idea how much this means to me," I say and give him a side hug. He mirrors my action and just then Andrews voice comes from ahead.

"Guys, I don't think we should celebrate at the Great Escape today. Doesn't seem very appropriate for the occasion. How about we throw a full fledge party at my house?" he finishes and the small crowd screams in agreement. Just then Jason's phone pings and he quickly checks it, shielding the phone from my vision.

I just shake my head.

Boys. Like I was interested in his message.

"Oh good, I agree with him for once," Jason says and I sigh.

More walking. All I want right now is to sit somewhere under the blanket and feel bad about myself. Low, I know. But a girl has her moods.

"Well, I'm guessing from your expression, you don't really want to party?" Jason says and I nod.

"Well then you can chill in Andrew's bedroom, the right one on the first floor," he says and I nod Absent-mindedly.

Andrew's bed feels like heaven right now.

We reached his house and because I really liked Jason's suggestions, I agreed and did as he said.

Thank God Andrew's bedroom is clean. I switched his table lamp on and that's when I realise...

How is it that Jason knows the exact position of Andrew's bedroom in his house? He mentioned it like he specifically wanted me to come to this room.

Maybe he must have come here before.

And just then, I hear the window slide open...
