Rita Lawrence slept peacefully in her bed, till she was woken up by her alarm from her phone and she turns it off, she yawned as she got out of her bed and opens her curtain of her small apartment window. She squinted from the sunlight, while looking out her window of her small apartment of Reseda. It almost a few days till school starts, so she wanted her last few days of her summer vacation to be worthy.

As Rita grabbed her clothes from her closet and puts them on, she went to her floor length mirror to look at her appearance, and begins to brush her hair. Rita is a beautiful fifteen year old girl, she has beautiful long gold blonde hair that past her shoulders with pink streaks on her front bangs, beautiful blue eyes that shine like sapphire gems, and her lips are a soft pink. But what capture her true beauty, is that her skin is as white as a pearl.

After she got changed and finished brushing her hair, she place her hairbrush down, then she exited her bedroom and heads to the kitchen to make breakfast. While she's cooking breakfast, she heard an alarm from her dad's bedroom beeping, till it stops meaning that her father turn it off, and as she set the plates down at the table and pour some orange juice for her and coffee for her dad, her dad came out of his bedroom dressed, and her father is none other than, Johnny Lawrence.

It's been thirty-three years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny's life has taken a rocky turn, after he lost the tournament to Daniel LaRusso, he tries to forget his past that constantly haunts him. Rita smiles at her dad as he sits down at his seat.

"Good morning dad." Said Rita smiling at her dad.

"Morning sweetheart, how did you sleep last night?" Asked Johnny looking a bit hangover from last night.

"I slept great, but you kinda look like you've gotten hanged over from last night." Said Rita looking at her father.

"Thanks sweetie." Said Johnny smiling at his daughter. "And the truth is yes I was hangover."

"Of course." Said Rita rolling her eyes.

As Rita and Johnny start having their breakfast, Johnny turns on the tv and the first thing that came up is a movie with a bunch of men shooting some guns at each other, but Rita wasn't paying attention to the movie as she look at her phone over Instagram.

After breakfast, Rita grab both their plates and starts washing them in the sink. After cleaning and putting away the dishes, her dad ask her to get the mail, so she exit her apartment and goes to their mailbox, till she bumps into a Hispanic boy around her age, who was getting the mail as well.

As she looks at the Hispanic boy, Rita thought that he was the cutest boy she have ever seen in her life, she never met any cute boys other than her other best friends Eli and Demetri, but the new kid seems handsome to her eyes.

"Hi, I'm Miguel Diaz, my family and I just moved here to 109." Said Miguel introducing himself to Rita with a smile.

"Nice to meet you Miguel, my names Rita Lawrence, my dad and I live across you from that apartment." Said Rita smiling at Miguel, pointing at her apartment.

"Rita, that's a pretty name for a beautiful girl like you." Said Miguel causing Rita to blush, and Miguel's eyes widen realizing what he had said. "Oh I mean. . . What I meant to say is. . . I mean. . ."

"That's okay, I always get that from my friends, so you can see why people refer to me as pretty girl." Said Rita smiling at Miguel.

Miguel smile back at Rita at how kind she is, as they both stare at each other's eyes, they blush a bit and their hearts beat a bit softly as they look at each other. Then they heard a clang sound and turn to see Johnny putting down a trash bag and a red toolbox, as he closed his apartment door. As Johnny picks up the trash bag and the tool box, he was heading towards the trash bins, and then Miguel goes to Johnny to introduce himself, with Rita following him.

"Hey, I'm Miguel, my family and I just moved into 109." Said Miguel smiling at Johnny and Johnny looks at him.

"Great. More immigrants." Said Johnny rolling his eyes.

"Dad!" Said Rita glaring at her dad, Miguel smile at her and look at Johnny.

"Actually, we're from Riverside. But anyways, I was just wondering if you were having trouble with your water pressure, cause I know our sink's being a little weird right now and. . ." Said Miguel continuing till Johnny starts throwing away the trash bag and heard bottles inside. "Oh, bottles go in the blue bin."

"Ha, I told you so dad!" Said Rita smirking and Johnny looks at Miguel while ignoring Rita.

"Listen, Menudo, my daughter and I lived in this shithole for over ten years, the pipe's don't work, the fountain's full of piss, and the only good thing about being here is I don't have to talk to anybody, so nice knowing you." Said Johnny as he grab his tool box and hugs Rita. "I'll see you after work sweetie, be safe."

"Okay dad." Said Rita smiling at Johnny as he walks to his car.

"Okay, well. . . Have a nice day, I guess." Said Miguel looking at Johnny.

As Johnny drives off to his job, Rita looks at Miguel, who seems a bit hurt at how Johnny greeted him, she smiles at him as she puts her hand on his shoulder, causing Miguel to look at her.

"Don't mind my dad, he's nice once you get to know him, and it's like home once you get comfortable." Said Rita smiling at Miguel.

"Thanks, so do you go to West Valley High School?" Asked Miguel looking at Rita with a hopeful look.

"Yeah, but on the bright side, it looks like you and I are going to the same school." Said Rita smiling at Miguel.

"That's cool, I was wondering if we could go to school like a couple?" Asked Miguel till he realize what he said. "WAIT. . . THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT. . . I mean like a couple of friends. . . Oh god."

Miguel felt embarrassed after saying that to Rita and blush really red, Rita thought it's cute what Miguel said, that she grab his hand, causing Miguel to look at Rita as she smiles.

"Sure, I would like to walk to school with you Miguel, besides none of my best friends live close here, and I don't like walking to school by myself." Said Rita smiling. "In fact, once school starts, if you want, you can get a ride with bear friend Luna to school."

"Sure, that'll be great." Said Miguel smiling at Rita.

"If you want, I would love to be your new friend Miguel, I never had a friend here at Reseda, and your the first one I made today." Said Rita smiling at Rita. "Well besides my four best friends, but you know what I mean."

"That's cool." Said Miguel smiling at Rita.

"Well, I better get back inside, I have a few chores to do, but I'll see you later." Said Rita smiling at Miguel.

"Yeah, I'll see you later Rita." Said Miguel smiling at Rita.

As Miguel walks back to his apartment, he wasn't looking where he is going and ends up bumping into someone's car, causing Rita to giggle at him and Miguel blush in embarrassed at what he did. He tried to act normal and goes back to his apartment, Rita smile and goes back inside her apartment.

Rita starts cleaning up the apartment as she vacuuming the rooms, wash the laundry, and gathering her fathers trash for two hours. After finishing the chores, Rita enters her bedroom and starts doing her own activities. She took out her sketchbook and diary from her backpack and sits on her bed as she starts sketching.

Rita grew up loving visual and performing arts and chemistry, since she's always creative when she was a little girl. She starts sketching out new outfit ideas that are based by the poems and songs she wrote in her diary, along with the type of themes that always inspired her. After a few sketches, she starts writing in her diary about her summer and what she done.

After putting away her diary and sketchbook in her backpack, she log into her computer and watch the videos of the All Valley Karate Tournament of 1984. When Rita moved in with her father, he taught her a bit of karate to defend herself from bullies, and she was able to do them perfectly as she was taught, he would even tell her about his time when he did karate and how he was a former karate champion.

However when Rita ask her dad about the All Valley Karate Tournament of 1984, he gets tense up and doesn't say anything about it. All he told her was that he lost that tournament and it changed his life. But Rita knew that it had to do something to do with John Kreese, and so she decided to let it go and continue watching the video.

The afternoon went by and Rita did her usual activities in her bedroom, after she finished practice her karate lessons, she place her computer on her desk and she saw a photo of her with her mother, Gloria Rodrigo, when she was four years old.

Rita frowned in sadness as she picks up the photo frame of her and her mother. For all her life, she always have great memories of her dad, but she barely has any great memories with her mom, because she died of a mysterious accident when she was four years old, and she had lived with her father since.

All that Rita knows about her mother was that she was born in Bueno Aries, Argentina, but moved to the USA when she was eighteen years old, she was kind-hearted and beautiful, has a great talent of singing and dancing, but she also has so much confidence in her, which is where Rita gets it from.

The only good memories Rita has about mother is that how they will bake sweeties together, Gloria will always sing to her and write songs together, they will go to their favorite bakery and park, and how they will have a great family moment with her friends together.

Then as Rita place the photo frame down, she got a message from her best Luna asking if she wants to spend the day with her, Eli, and Demetri at Eli's house tomorrow. Rita smile at the message and reply with a yes.

As Rita exited out her bedroom, she went to get a soda from the fridge, as she look at the time on her phone and realized her father hasn't come home yet, she decided to go for a walk for some fresh air. So she puts her phone in her pocket and grabs her keys as she goes out of her apartment.

An hour went by and it was getting dark as the night sky appeared, but Rita didn't mind at all as she loves to see the stars twinkle in the night sky, as Rita heads back to her apartment while drinking her soda, she starts to hear some angry voices from the mini mall.

"What the hell are you doing?" Shouted a male voice near the mini-mart. "Why you got to blow up our spot?"

"Dude, I. . ." Said a familiar male voice in a bit of panic.

"Man, he thought we were in college, dumb-ass." Said the angry male voice.

"I didn't know you guys were trying to buy beer." Said the familiar male voice as it sound scared." I'm sorry."

Rita began to realize that the voice belongs to Miguel and the other voice sounded a bit familiar, so she starts going to the mini-mart to see who was there. As Rita arrived at the mini mall, she saw Miguel getting pushed around by Kyler and his goons, then Kyler grab something out of Miguel's hand that he bought in the stores.

"Ooh, what do we got here?" Said Kyler smirking at the bottle. "Yeah, what do you got. . . Pepto. Oh, shit, someone has frickin' diarrhea."

"Hey, we should call him 'Rhea." Said Brucks smirking and laughing at Miguel

"Give it back, dude." Said Miguel trying to get the bottle back. "It's for my grandma."

"Oh, it's for your grandma." Said Kyler starts pouring the pink stuff all over Miguel. "Take that."

All of Kyler's friends began laughing as Miguel got the pink liquid all over his head, Rita began to feel so angry, that she starts stomping towards them and throws her drink at Kyler, causing him to get all wet, and all the boys look at Rita's direction as she glared at them.

"Hey, leave Miguel alone you asshole!" Shouted Rita glaring at Kyler.

"Well, what do we have here, if it isn't Rita Lawrence." Said Kyler smirking at Rita. "I see that you gotten more beautiful than ever."

"Oh shut up Kyler, leave Miguel alone!" Said Rita glaring at Kyler with anger.

"Oh please, why do you care about this guy Rita, he's just a loser, wouldn't rather hangout with the popular guys like us and Yasmin?" Said Kyler going closer to Rita.

"Why would I hangout with a bunch of bullies, you guys are mean, rude and you only think about yourselves, I never wanted to hangout with a mean girl like Yasmin, and I wouldn't even date a jerk like you." Said Rita glaring at Kyler and his goons.

"Oh come on, you rather date a guy like Rhea here. . . Look at him, he's a pathetic loser just like that guy with the freaky lip." Said Kyler smirking while pointing at Miguel.

Kyler friends began laughing as they agree with Kyler, but Rita got so angry after what he said, that she swings her leg up at Kyler's crouch with a kick and and punch him by the face, causing his nose to bleed.

"Don't you dare speak that way about Eli, you're not even half the person he is you asshole!" Said Rita as she glared at Kyler.

Kyler got angry from the kick and punch Rita gave him, that he punch Rita right in the face really hard and kick her stomach, causing Rita to fall to the ground, which cause Miguel to get angry at what Kyler did to her.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Shouted Miguel as he runs towards Kyler but was punch by him and was push to Johnny's car.

"Hey. . . That's my daughter you hurt asshole, and if you lay one more finger at her, I will kill you!" Said Johnny as he glared at the boys. "And watch the the car, man!"

Rita look up and saw her dad getting up from the curb, she was shock as to wonder how long has he been standing there and see Miguel getting harass. Then Miguel got up and goes to Rita and helps her up, now she has a black eye from the punch Kyler gave her.

"Are you okay?" Asked Rita looking at Miguel.

"I'm fine, but are you okay?" Asked Miguel checking on Rita's face.

"I'll be fine, I've had worse before." Said Rita groaning a bit.

"Who's this dude?" Asked Kyler as he look at Johnny.

"Just leave the dork alone, and don't you ever touch my daughter again!" Said Johnny glaring at Kyler and his friends, Rita looks at her father with a proud smile.

"You see this guy, eating his dinner at the mini mart like a bum." Said Kyler and his friends laugh at Johnny.

Miguel and Rita both look at Johnny and saw that he was getting really angry at what Kyler said, and they both back away a bit knowing that it was about to get really ugly if Kyler keeps mocking Johnny.

"Wait, I think I know this guy, he's the jerk-off that cleaned my dad's septic tank." Said Kyler laughing at Johnny.

"That explains why he smells like shit." Said Brucks laughing as well.

"All right, trust me, you guys are pissing off the wrong guy on the wrong day, all right?" Said Johnny looking angry and Rita started to get worried.

"Really?" Asked Kyler looking at Johnny with a smirk.

"Yeah, really." Said Johnny glaring at Kyler.

"Get the hell out of here, loser." Said Kyler pushing Johnny a bit.

Rita got angry of Kyler pushing her dad, she saw Johnny tried to stay calm and not doing anything, and before she could say anything or do anything, Johnny kick Kyler right at the face, causing Kyler to fall back into the floor. Miguel got shock and amazed at what Johnny did, but Rita smile at her dad, because she recognized that technique since Johnny taught her. Johnny groan in pain as he hold his leg, and Rita guess that he hasn't done that in a long time, even though he taught her. Even the boys were shock that Johnny kick Kyler as they stood there.

"Oh shit, let's get him!" Said Brucks as he and the others boys began attacking Johnny.

Johnny shove Brucks and AJ aside roughly as he grab a hold of AJ's arm as he punch Brucks aside, then he kicked Rory by the stomach as he let go of AJ's arm, then Johnny kicked Kyler by the stomach as he was about to attack him again, he punch Rory by the stomach as he was about to attack him, he sweep kick AJ's leg, causing him to fall to the ground, and he kicked Rory's face as he was about to get up.

Then Brucks charged at Johnny and smashed him against the pole, Rita started to get worried for her father and wanted to help him, till Johnny punches Brucks by the face shove him to the car. Rita and Miguel were both so amazed at how Johnny did those amazing moves, even the homeless lady got really interest as well.

"Holy shit, how did you. . ." Asked Miguel looking at Johnny till Kyler attacked Johnny from behind and punch his stomach.

"DAD!" Shouted Rita trying to go to her dad but Miguel pull her back to him.

"No, I don't want you to get hurt again!" Said Miguel pulling Rita close to him and Kyler hold Johnny in a choke hold.

"What's the matter, having trouble breathing?" Asked Kyler holding Johnny in the choke hold.

Then Johnny starts punching Kyler with his shoulder towards his stomach, causing Kyler to let go of him, then Johnny flip Kyler over to the floor and look at the boys.

"Is that all you got ladies?" Asked Johnny looking at the boys and they got up.

"Come on Kyler, let's go." Said Brucks as he help Kyler up.

"Get off me!" Said Kyler pushing Brucks away from him.

Then Kyler tried to swing a punch at Johnny, but Johnny was able to dodge him, then he kick Brucks by the face, AJ suddenly punch Johnny right Rory, getting a hold a him as AJ was about to punch Johnny again, then Johnny hit Rory by the head, causing Rory to let go of Johnny, Johnny punches AJ and punches Rory causing them to fall to the ground.

Then Kyler came up to Johnny to attack him again, but Johnny stop him as he hold Kyler in a choke hold and Kyler was on one knee. Then a blue and red light appear, meaning that the cops have came as they pull up from the parking lot and running to Johnny.

"What's the matter, having trouble breathing?" Asked Johnny repeating what Kyler said to him.

"Hey, get off the kid!" Shouted the police officer as he sprays pepper spray all over his eyes.

"DADDY. . . Wait please, he didn't do anything wrong!" Shouted Rita trying to get to her father.

"Wait, this guy tried to protect us!" Shouted Miguel as he tried to defend Johnny.

But the cops just taken Johnny to the police station, leaving Miguel and Rita alone in the mini mall, while Kyler and his goons ran to the car and drive away. Rita got upset and angry, she's upset that her dad got taken away by the police, and she's angry that it was all Kyler and his friends fault that they started the fight.

"Are you okay?" Asked Miguel looking worried for Rita.

"Honestly, I'm not okay, my dad just got taken away." Said Rita as one tear came out of her eye. "And it's all Kyler and his goons fault, speaking of which, are you okay, Kyler really hurt you back there."

"Yeah, I'm a bit bruised, but I'll be fine, but you look worse from the punch that guy gave you." Said Miguel checking Rita's face. "Oh, your eye looks bad, let me take you back to my place so my mom could check on it."

"Oh no, I wouldn't want to bother you and your family." Said Rita looking at Miguel.

"No I insists, you help me, so let me help you." Said Miguel as he look at Rita.

Rita look at Miguel and saw that he wants to help her, so she nod her head, but she went inside the store to buy the medicine that Miguel bought for his grandmother, since Kyler spill it all over Miguel's head, and they both went back to the apartment. But thanks to the black eye Kyler gave her, she could barely see.

So Miguel starts carrying Rita in a bridal style, causing her to blush a bit and wrap her arms around Miguel's neck as they head to the apartments. Then a few minutes, Miguel and Rita have arrived at the building, Miguel got out his keys to his apartment, and as he open the door, he enter the apartment with Rita in his arms.

As they enter the apartment, Aria saw a women that happens to be Miguel's mother, Carmen Diaz, and his grandmother Rosa Diaz. They both smile and was about to welcome Miguel back home, till they saw Miguel with Rita in his arms, and they got worried.

"Oh my, this poor girl, Miggy what happen to her?" Asked Carmen getting worried as Miguel place Rita gently at the couch.

"Mom, this is Rita our neighbor, her father was defending us from some bullies that jump at us, and he was taken by the police by mistake thinking that he was attacking." Said Miguel explaining everything what happened.

"Oh my, how are you my dear?" Asked Carmen looking at Rita.

"I'm okay, aside from the black eye Kyler gave me, I think I'll be fine." Said Rita as she wince a bit and Carmen goes to the fridge and gets Rita an ice pack for her black eye.

"Here you go sweetie, put this ice pack on your eye, it will help with the pain." Said Carmen as Rita place the ice pack at her black eye.

"Thank you so much." Said Rita smiling at Cameron.

"Wow Miguel, nunca pensé que tendrías novia ahora mismo." Said Rosa in Spanish while smiling at Miguel.

"Yaya!" Said Miguel blushing really red in embarrassment.

"Mama, por favor!" Said Carmen in Spanish and Rita giggled.

"No, no soy su novia, solo soy una nueva amiga." Said Rita in Spanish causing Miguel and Carmen to get shock.

"Woah, you can speak Spanish?" Asked Miguel in shock.

"Just a bit, my mom is Buenos Aires, in Argentina, and I learned a bit of Spanish from her." Said Rita as she smiles.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Said Carmen as she smiles.

"Yeah, so where's your mom?" Asked Miguel looking at Rita and she frowned a bit.

"Uh. . . She died in an accident. . . I was only six years old." Said Rita looking sad causing Miguel to feel guilty.

"Oh. . . I didn't mean. . . I'm so sorry." Said Miguel as he feels so much more embarrassed.

"Oh, I'm so sorry sweetie." Said Carmen placing her hand on Rita's shoulder.

"It's okay, I do miss her, but I know she's looking out for me." Said Rita as she smiles softly. "But my dad is the only parent I have."

"Why don't you stay with us for the night, sweetie?" Asked Carmen smiling at Rita.

"Oh no, I don't want to bother you guys." Said Rita looking at the Diaz family.

"We insist, you help me Rita, so let us help you." Said Miguel as he smiles.

Rita thought about it for a bit, and she accept the offer to stay with them for the night. Of course, Rita thought that it will be okay for her to sleep on the couch for the night, but Miguel insisted on letting her sleep in his room for tonight, Rita smile at how kind he is, then she began calling the one person she never thought she would call, but has to so she can get her father out of jail. Then after the phone call, she enter Miguel's bedroom and gave her some extra clothes for her to sleep in. After she got changed, Miguel offer Rita to let her sleep in his bed, while he sleeps on the floor, and they both sleep for the night.

The next morning, Rita woken up and got changed into the outfit she was wearing last night, then after she got out of Miguel's room, she saw Carmen made breakfast for her, along with Miguel, she was so grateful as she eats with them.

After they had breakfast and Carmen went off to work, Miguel and Rita both wait outside of their apartment for Johnny to come back. While Miguel is looking over his phones and Rita is fixing her nails a bit, they both saw Johnny's car pulling up and as Johnny got out of his car, Rita runs towards to her father and hugs him.

"Dad, I'm really glad you're okay." Said Rita as Johnny hugs her back and saw Miguel coming towards them.

"Hey, I just wanted to say thank you." Said Miguel as he look at Johnny.

"All right, well, you said it." Said Johnny as he walks with Rita to the mailbox and Miguel follow them.

"So last night, was that, like, Tae Kwon Do or jujitsu or MMA or something?" Asked Miguel as he look at Johnny.

"It's actually karate." Said Rita answering Miguel's questions.

"Yep. Old-school karate." Said Johnny correcting his daughter.

"Do you think you could teach me?" Asked Miguel as he keeps following Johnny.

"What?" Asked Johnny looking at Miguel with an annoyed look. "No."

"Dad!" Said Rita looking at her father in shock.

"What, come on, when school starts, those guys are gonna make my life miserable." Said Miguel trying to convince Johnny.

"It's not my problem." Said Johnny after getting his mail.

"You made it your problem when you beat up Kyler and his goons last night." Said Rita frowning at her father. "You taught me some of your karate."

"Again, not my problem sweetie." Said Johnny closing his mailbox. "And that's also different, because you're my daughter."

"If I just knew a little bit of what you knew then we would be. . ." Said Miguel as he tried to speak.

"Forget it." Said Johnny frowning at Miguel. "I don't do karate anymore. . . All right. . . Besides, I need to find a job."

"Wait a minute, find a job. . . Oh dad, please tell me you didn't get fired from another job again?!" Asked Rita looking at her father with a frown.

"Well, you can open your own karate school." Said Miguel as he give Johnny an idea.

"It's called a dojo." Said Johnny correcting Miguel.

"Well, you could open your own dojo." Said Miguel correcting himself.

"Look, I'm not getting into this with you, all right?" Said Johnny looking at Miguel. "I'm not even sure I'm allowed to be around kids right now, besides my daughter. All right, you want my advice. . . Stop being so annoying. . . Maybe you'll stop getting your ass kicked, okay."

Then Johnny walks away to his apartment leaving Miguel a bit heartbroken while Rita got upset and disappointed that her father wouldn't help Miguel teach any karate, since he did defend them last night from bullies. Rita place her hands on Miguel's shoulder causing him to look at her.

"Miguel, I'm so sorry about that, I'll try to convince my father to see if he could train you, and if I can't, I can teach you some karate, since my dad taught me." Said Rita smiling at Miguel.

"Really, thanks Rita." Said Miguel smiling at Rita.

"Your welcome, and thanks again for letting me stay with you and your family." Said Rita smiling at Miguel.

"Your welcome, it's the least I can do since you help me." Said Miguel smiling at Rita.

Then before Rita went back to her apartment, she hugs Miguel as thanks for letting her stay with him for the night, it cause Miguel to blush really deep, and hug her back. Then Rita went back to her apartment and tried to speak to her dad about trying to teach Miguel karate.

"Dad, you can't just say no to Miguel about teaching him karate." Said Rita frowning at her father. "Especially after he offer to let me stay with him after you were taken away by the police."

"Look Rita, I'm not going to teach that kid karate, or get involved with this." Said Johnny getting his keys out for their apartment.

"Again, you didn't seem to have problem of teaching me karate, and defending me and Miguel last night from Kyler and his goons." Said Rita glaring at her dad.

"And again, that was different, you're my daughter and I had to help you defend yourself." Said Johnny unlocking the door. "And those jerks hurt you and I had to make sure you're safe."

"That's my point dad, I can't be able to protect Miguel from bullies at school." Said Rita looking worried as they both enter their apartment. "And besides dad, maybe if you could. . ."

Before she can continue, Johnny and Rita saw a women sitting on the couch watching some tv, which got Johnny to get shock and confused on how she got into their apartment, but Rita realized who it might be since she know who she called.

"You got Encore?" Asked the women looking at the tv.

"Who the hell are you?" Asked Johnny looking at the women and then looks at Rita. "Rita, who is this?"

"Well, dad, you see. . ." Said Rita as she was going to continue.

"You know those little red stickers that say "further reduced"?" Said an old man at the refrigerator, Johnny and Rita look to see it was none other than Sid, Johnny's stepfather and Rita's grandfather. "That means spoiled. . . You know that, right, you are feeding your daughter bad meat, boy."

"What the hell are you doing in our apartment, Sid?" Asked Johnny as he look annoyed.

"Oh, that's some thank-you I got." Said Sid as he rolling his eyes. "Who do you think bailed you out. . . Again, after getting a phone call from your daughter."

"I never asked you for anything." Said Johnny as he goes to his room to change.

"I think that little incident at Applebee's would've taught you to keep your hands to yourself." Said Sid frowning at Johnny.

"Hi grandpa Sid." Said Rita as she looks at Sid.

"Hello Rita, I see that you are growing more beautiful just like your mother." Said Sid looking at Rita.

"Thank you." Said Rita getting a bit uncomfortable and looks at Sids nurse Rhonda. "Would you like something to drink miss?"

"No thank you dear, and please call me Rhonda." Said Rhonda smiling at Rita and Sid picks up the picture frame of Johnny's mother when she's young.

"You know. . . When I met your mom, she really knocked my socks off. . . Beautiful. . . Blonde. . . Tan. . . Tight." Said Sid remembering Johnny's mother. "Little did I know l'd be taking care of her schmuck kid forever."

"Yeah, Sid, you were the stepfather of the century." Said Johnny as he goes to the refrigerator for an ice pack after last night.

"Well, high praise coming from a world-class daddy like you." Said Sid as he look at Johnny. "How old is Robby now. . . Fifteen. . . Sixteen. . . When's the last time you saw him?"

That got Rita to flinch a bit as she knows that it was a tough subject for Johnny. What her friends never knew is that Rita has a half-brother name Robby Keene, he and Rita both have different moms, but as kids they both have the same dad. Rita lost her mother when she was six, while Robby still has his mother, but was barely around for him.

Rita and Robby have a great sibling relationship with each other because they love each other and help each other at any situations, but they don't live together because Robby and Johnny have a strain relationship, Johnny was always there for Rita, but he was never there for Robby and so he never see's him.

"Just get the hell out of here, man." Said Johnny glaring at Sid.

"I'll get the hell out of here when l'm goddamn good and ready." Said Sid glaring back at Johnny.

"Sid." Said Rhonda frowning at Sid.

"What?" Asked Sid glaring at his nurse.

"Blood pressure." Said Rhonda as she informed him.

"Ah, keep watching your bullshit judge show, will you, Rhonda?" Asked Sid as he look annoyed. "And stay out of this. . . Jesus, god."

Rhonda and Rita both rolled their eyes as Sid got out a check and goes to Johnny as he tried to cure his bump.

"This is why I'm here." Said Sid as he gives Johnny the check.

"What's this?" Asked Johnny as he grabs it.

"Well, you know, I told your mama l'd take care of you always, buts. . . In this case, I think even she would cut me some slack." Said Sid as he look at Johnny. "I'm buying you out of my life."

"I'd rather be homeless than take money from you." Said Johnny as he ripped the check.

"Oh, well, hell. . . Yeah, okay." Said Sid as he looks at Rhonda. "Rhonda. . . Lunchtime. . . Call Art's, see if they got that belly lox."

Then Rhonda got up as she and Sid were about to leave, and Sid looks back at Johnny before he leaves.

"l'd say get your life in order, but, uh, at this point, you're like the meat in your fridge." Said Sid as he left and Rita looks at Johnny with a sad look.

Then Rita goes to her bedroom to change into a different outfit for her hangout with her friends. She still didn't feel right about calling Sid to bail Johnny out, but he has to call him to help her dad. After she got changed, she went out of her bedroom to see her dad watching tv while drinking beer.

"I'm sorry dad, I didn't know who else to call." Said Rita looking a bit upset.

"It's okay Rita, I put you in that situation anyway." Said Johnny drinking his beer.

"Don't let Sid get to you dad, you're a great father unlike him." Said Rita as she smiles.

"Thanks sweetie." Said Johnny smiling a bit.

"Look dad, I know you don't want to hear this, but maybe you should consider of opening a karate dojo and teach Miguel a bit of karate, you did have to defend us from Kyler and his goons, and it can easily help you make money." Said Rita looking at her father. "Speaking of which, what did you to get fired from your job yesterday?"

"All I did was place the tv to where the women wants it hang at the wall, till she complains I place it the wrong wall, and I told her to stop bitching at me, and she called my boss and get me fired because she thinks I called her a bitch." Said Johnny drinking his beer. "Seriously, some women are crazy."

"Yeah, some women can be making sense dad, and not many women like being called a bitch." Said Rita looking at her father.

"Anyway, why are you dress like that?" Asked Johnny looking at Rita's outfit.

"Yesterday, I got a text from Luna saying that she wants to hangout today at Eli's house with her, Eli, and Demetri." Said Rita as she fixes her bracelet. "Don't worry dad, I'll be careful and be back by 10:00, besides I'm a Lawrence!"

"That's my girl!" Said Johnny as he smiles at Rita.

"And dad, just please think about teaching Miguel some karate, and maybe open up a karate dojo, cause I don't want us to be on debt." Said Rita looking at her father.

Then Rita hugs her father and he hugs her back, then she grabs her purse, her phone, and keys, and head's outside of her apartment to meet her friends.

Rita went to a store to buy some of the chocolate and candy, she and her friends love. Then after a half-hour later, Rita arrived at Eli's house, Eli's mom greeted her with a hug and says that the Luna and the boys are downstairs waiting for her.

So Rita went downstairs and saw Eli and Demetri playing Mario Kart as they both have game controllers, while Luna was watching a music video in her phone, and Rita smile at the sight of her three best friends.

Eli has dark blonde hair and blue eyes, and has a scar on his lip, while Demetri has dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Luna has long brown hair that reach past her shoulders with a purple streak and brown eyes. Rita smile at the sight of her three best friends.

Rita, Luna, Eli, and Demetri have all been best friends ever since they were in kindergarten, but they all met in different terms. Rita and Luna both became best friends since they were babies, cause their mom's are close best friends. Rita and Luna were both artistic popular as they donned themselves as "Artistic Hipster Sisters" and excelled in art and science together, they both won a couple of art and science awards together, and create music videos together.

Eli was born with a cleft lip, that when surgically repaired, resulted in a scar running from his lip to nose. He was bullied due to his scar, but found an equal in fellow outcast Demetri, whom he has met since kindergarten, and they were both stereotypical unpopular nerds. Eli and Demetri donned themselves "binary brothers" and excelled in academia together, winning a coding competition at a computer camp.

The four of them have always stick together throughout kindergarten, as they all love to hangout with each other playing video games, watching movies, and make videos together. However as they all reach to high school, many student began judging why they all hang out together.

Eli and Demetri endured the bullying and torment at the hands of older students, and tried to stick to themselves, while Rita and Luna got admirers and making new friends, even the popular tried to encourage them to leave Eli and Demetri, but they refused and still stick with them. No matter how different they are or their status in school, they will always stick together no matter what.

"Hey guys, one of your favorite girl are here!" Said Rita smiling at her friends.

"Hey Rita, what took you so long?" Asked Luna putting away her phone.

"Sorry, the line at the store was long and I was looking for our favorite candy." Said Rita smiling at her friends.

"Hey Rita." Said Eli as he blush at the sight of her.

"So, I guess you guys started without me?" Said Luna sitting next to Demetri.

"Oh come on, you know we can't start without l our favorite beautiful blonde maiden." Said Demetri smiling at Rita and Luna. "And I'm glad that our beautiful brunette maiden, Luna is back from her two week vacation from Seattle."

"Speaking of summer vacation, how was your summer at Seattle Luna?" Asked Rita looking at Luna.

"It was great, my mom, my baby sister Charolette, and I went to see my grandmother with my stepdad, and it was the best." Said Luna smiling about her vacation. "My grandma was so happy to see us, we even to the Seattle Tower and the view was amazing, grandma is also excited to meet Charolette."

"That's great, Luna." Said Rita smiling at her best friend.

"Speaking of which, how are you doing, after everything that happened with your dad?" Asked Demetri looking at Luna.

"Well, to be honest, I'm happy that I don't see him that much, he barely has time for me and always ignores me, and keeps bragging to mom about his rich new life with his new wife and son." Said Luna as she shrugged. "But I'm glad that she met Walter, he's a really sweet guy and takes care of us, I'm also glad to have Charolette as my new stepsister, she's so sweet and cute."

"That's great Luna." Said Rita as she smiles.

"How about you guys, how were your summer's going?" Asked Luna smiling at her friends.

"Mine and Eli's summer going good, we play Dungeon and Lords, check out new comics in the comic store, and making our Binary Brother videos." Said Demetri smiling at Luna.

"That's really cool, what about you Rita, how's your summer?" Asked Luna looking at Rita.

"My summer is great, I've visited Auntie Betty at her restaurant every Friday and sing for the customers, I've also been getting a bit of tips from the customers, and I've been hanging out with Eli and Demetri and always beat them at Mario Kart, I've been writing some new songs lately, and I've also been helping my dad lately." Said Rita as she smiles.

"That's cool Rita, but anything new happen?" Asked Luna as she smiles.

"Actually, there is something new, I have a new neighbor, his name is Miguel and he's going to our school." Said Rita as she smiles.

"Oh, a boy, sounds like someone has found a new boyfriend." Said Luna as she smiles.

"What. . . He's not my boyfriend, he's just a new friend that I met." Said Rita as she blush, not noticing Eli's small frown.

"Whatever you say." Said Luna as she smirks.

"Oh, and I also have been visiting my mom's grave." Said Rita frowning a bit in sadness while Luna, Demetri, and Eli feel bad for Rita.

"We know you miss your mom so much, but I know she's still looking out for you and your dad." Said Eli as she holds Rita's hand. "And I know she'll be proud of you right now."

"Thank Eli, that really means so much to mean." Asked Rita smiling at her friends. "So, what should we do first, play Mario Kart and then watch a movie, or watch a movie and then play Mario Kart?"

"Why not play Mario Kart first, since the game was already set." Said Luna as she smiles.

So they all start playing the game, as Eli gives Rita the controller, she grabs it till her hand brushed his hand, causing Eli to blush a bit and Rita smile at him. So the four best friends began playing Mario Kart for two hours, Rita won ten games while Luna won eight games, with Eli won three games and Demetri only won two.

"I don't understand, me and Eli won this game many times, how can we possibly lose to you two?" Asked Demetri in shock.

"I guess we just have a knack for it." Said Luna smiling at Demetri.

"Okay so what movie should we watch, "The Lion King," or "101 Dalmatians?" Asked Rita as she pulled out old Disney movies.

"The Lion King," because let's face it, it's awesome and funny, especially with Timon and Pumbaa, they are literally the funny ones." Said Luna as she smiles.

"Will get the popcorn while you two get the movie ready." Said Eli as he and Demetri head upstairs for popcorn.

The girls prepare the movie as Luna place the disc in the DVD player and Rita prepares the drinks and the chocolates they bought, then after a few minutes later, Eli and Demetri both came down with two bowls of popcorn.

"We got the popcorn." Said Eli smiling at the girls.

"Cool, we got the movie ready and have the chocolates set." Said Rita as she smiles.

So they all start the movie as they sit together. Eli was sharing Rita some popcorn, while Demetri share some popcorn with Luna, they even have some of chocolate and thought they were delicious. Rita reach out for some more popcorn till Eli's hand was in top of hers, as he was also reaching out for more popcorn at the same time.

Eli looks at Rita, and she looks at him and gives his a soft smile, Eli blush a bit and got the popcorn, and looks away a bit with a smile. Rita giggled softly as she looks back to the movie. Demetri and Luna both saw the small scene and smirk together. After seeing the whole movie, Luna's stepfather texted her saying that he's here to her up.

Rita and Luna look at the time and realize that it was getting late, so they say goodbye to Eli and Demetri as they hug them, Eli blush a bit hard as he feels Rita's soft blonde hair, and the two girls leave the basement as Eli and Demetri decided to play Mario Kart again, as Luna enters her stepfathers car, Walter offers Rita a ride back home and she accepted. Then a few minutes later, they arrived at Reseda, Rita thank Walter and Luna for the ride and heads back to her apartment.

As Rita enters her apartment, she was hoping to find her dad pass out from drinking or still watching tv, but a she saw that the chair is empty and the tv screen was crack, and Rita shook her head in sadness.

"Oh dad, I just hope that you will change soon, all I want is for Robby to love with us, so we can be a family." Said Rita as she goes to her bedroom, she changes into her pajamas, and went to sleep.

The next morning, Mackenzie got up and got dressed, then as she left her bedroom, she saw that her father isn't at the kitchen and realize that he must've went somewhere, so she had her breakfast and went out to take the trash, and as she went outside, she saw Miguel taking out the trash and goes to him.

"Morning Miguel." Said Rita as she smiles.

"Oh, morning Rita." Said Miguel as he smiles at Rita.

"Has my dad stop to think about teaching you karate?" Asked Rita as she looks at Miguel.

"No he hasn't." Said Miguel as he look upset and Rita felt bad for him.

"You know Miguel, if you really want to learn karate so bad, maybe you could ask your mom if you can have karate lesson." Said Rita as she looks at Miguel.

"I can't Rita, my mom doesn't like violence, she'll flip out if I ask her." Said Miguel as he look at Rita.

"Oh I see, I'm guessing that since your mom is a nurse at the hospital, she often see's many patients get hurt from a fight." Said Rita as she looks at Miguel.

"Yeah, and as you can tell, my mom doesn't want that to happen to me." Said Miguel as he shrugs a bit.

"I understand that, your mom wants to make sure your protected, so you wouldn't get hurt, but sometimes learning how to fight does help." Said Rita as she smiles.

Miguel smile at Rita as he was grateful of her trying to cheer him up, then as soon as they were about to head back to their own apartments, they both saw that Johnny was behind them and kinda startled them.

"Oh dad, you're back." Said Rita as she smiles at her father and Johnny looks at Miguel.

"Are you sure you're ready?" Asked Johnny as he look at Miguel." Cause once you go down this path, there's no turning back."

"You're gonna be my karate teacher?" Asked Miguel as he look surprised and excited.

"No, I'm gonna be your sensei." Said Johnny as he look serious.

Miguel got really excited that he is finally going to learn all about karate, while Rita is proud of her father of deciding to teach karate, and then Johnny began to speak.

"I'm going to teach you the style of karate that was taught to me. A method of fighting your pussy generation desperately needs. I'm not just gonna teach you how to conquer your fears." Said Johnny as he give Miguel a speech. "I'm gonna teach you how to awaken the snake within you. And once you do that, you'll be the one who's feared. You'll build strength. You'll learn discipline. And when the time is right, you'll strike back."

Miguel is so excited that he's finally going to start learning karate, then Johnny explain that he will start training in three days and starts to go find a new dojo, as he goes back inside his apartment to look for the check that his stepfather Sid gave him, and Rita looks at him with a smile on her face.

"Congratulations Miguel, you are finally going to learn karate." Said Rita as she smiles.

"Wait, aren't you going to learn karate as well?" Asked Miguel as he look at Rita.

"You know, maybe I should join to learn karate as well." Said Rita smiling and Miguel smile that Rita will join.

"Awesome!" Said Miguel smiling at Rita. "I can't wait to learn Karate with you."

Rita smile at Miguel and gave him a hug before she goes back to her apartment, as she enters her apartment, she saw Johnny fixing up the check that Sid gives him yesterday.

"I'm proud that you are doing this dad." Said Rita as she smiles at her father. "So, what made you changed your mind?"

"Well, today I ran into Daniel LaRusso after I went to pick up my car." Said Johnny looking at his daughter.

"Daniel LaRusso, the auto guy from LaRusso's Auto Group?" Asked Rita and Johnny nodded. "Okay, are you going to explain to me what really happened to your car?"

So Johnny starts explaining to Rita about his past and Daniel LaRusso, and while he was explaining, little did Rita know is that soon this whole karate business will bring on some new people to learn karate and some old enemies from the past.
