[01] Party
The music boomed throughout the room, clammy bodies overcrowding the whole area. Alyssa came up to me with a smirk adorning her blood red lips.
"Out of all of the nerds, I least expected you to turn up here." She said, sarcasm dripping from her words.
Her eyes scanned down my choice of clothing, tsking under her breath at every turn.
I raised a brow with a bored gaze. "And, your point?"
"Nothing, enjoy yourself." She mused, flipping her hair as she waddled her way to her clique which consists of bitchy cheerleaders.
I ignored their disgusted looks thrown in my way as I slid my way past the sea of bodies to the kitchen.
Peering into the fridge, I selected a can of coke before spinning around.
I nearly collided into someone, causing the person's drink to spill onto my white dress. I groaned, watching as the orange liquid stained my mother's dress.
It was the only dress she had left behind ever since her death. Looking back, this dress has been trapped in the closet for five years.
Just when I decided to bring it out and let it shine once more, it is now ruined.
"I'm sorry." A husky voice made me snap my head up as I tried my hardest to hold my glare.
It faded the moment I saw who it was.
One of the most popular jocks, vice-captain of lacrosse team and the boyfriend of Nancy, vice-captain of cheerleading team.
Nathan Skyes.
He still looked the same with his messy brown hair, his cleanly-shaved stubbles as the smell of aftershave filled my nostrils.
I sighed with disappointment.
I can't look at him, not when my crush for him still remained even after so long. No matter what happens, he will never notice a nerd like me who only wore oversized sweaters and thick-rimmed glasses.
"Miss? Are you okay?" He asked with concern, giving my shoulder a light tap.
I was snapped out of my thoughts as I hurriedly nodded. He pointed at my stained dress with amusement flickering in his eyes. "Are you sure about that?"
Looking down, I sighed, facing him once more as I chuckled sheepishly. "I think I will find a way to get this off."
"Come on, follow me." He said firmly, holding onto my hand as he pulled me along with him.
And just like that, I followed behind him as he led me through the dancing bodies. He would look back every now and then to look at me before turning back to where he was going.
My eyes traced down the outline of his muscled back as his shirt stuck to his skin due to sweat.
I gulped, hating the fact that he was affecting me this much. I shouldn't be feeling this way when he was already attached to a beautiful girlfriend.
