thirty-three
Lisa's smooth shoulder muffled out his screams as he pressed his face on the crook of her neck.
"Fucking asshole!" Mikhail yelled, his voice now begging to strain from all the shouting he'd done in the past hour.
Amjad had always been a spoilt manwhore, whose faults had been veiled by their parents. And yet in some strange way Mikhail had looked up to his brother, but now he lost that too.
He lost his brother, his faith in his family and now he was losing his mind over the girl he lost his virginity to.
All that in a week.
"Just let it all out." Lisa said, patting his back.
In a moment of desperation he had called her, for he had no one else that would understand him. And like always, Lisa had been loyal and kind enough to lend him a shoulder to cry on.
But they both knew that this wasn't going to fix their relationship. Some things had to be let go of.
So an hour later, when Mikhail 's anger had lulled into just pain and hurt, Lisa placed a hand on his knee and glanced into his eyes.
"Your brother is a homophobic swine, and that girl got into a car accident. You can't fix any of that and you can't blame yourself." Lisa said. "But you can be there for her if she wakes up."
"What about us Lisa? I'm still in love-"
"You're not in love with me. You just wanted to be so you could get over her." Her voice was dead, her face blank of any emotions.
"It clearly hasn't worked."
Mikhail had hurt her. He saw that now.
