"Make sure you get everything." Mum called after me.

"Yeah, don't worry. Allahfez." I yell before slipping into the car.

I drive into the main lane and begin to  make my way to the big Tesco on the other side of town.
I make another mental check of all the groceries mum sent me out to buy, making sure I know everything.

The inside of my car is all soft leather that remains polished due to how much I've taken care of it.

This baby was my priced posession after all.
This was my pretty little Porsche that everyone stared at in jealousy.

Too bad I couldn't use her to her full potential in town, I'd get fined and possibly have my license taken.
But thank fully we'll be out of the country for two weeks soon, and although my car wouldn't come with me, I'm sure I'd find something else to drive fast.

I pull into the parking lot of Tesco, which is surprisingly empty for rush hour.

The inside of the store hasn't changed much, so I know where everything is kept as I smoothly navigate my way with a trolley.

At the biscuit aisle I see Maryland cookies, and although that's not one of the things my mum asked for, I'm sure she wouldn't mind one extra item in the bag.

I quickly wheel my way towards the cookie shelf, but being an idiot I end up bumping into someone in the process.

"I'm so sor-" The apology dies into my mouth as I look up at the person I ran into.

Those familiar warm brown eyes, the jet black hair, the caramel skin and the sharp edged jawline.
The only thing missing was the mischievious smile he always had plastered on his pink lips.

Mikhail's mouth was slightly agape this time, as our eyes met.

Memories began to flood into my mind, all the wrong ones. All the ones I'd blocked a long time ago.

One look into his eyes told me he was thinking the same.

"Hey-" He began to say something, but I didn't give him a chance.

I wheeled the trolley away, Marylands forgotten, and made my way to the cash point.
I'd  get the rest of the stuff from another place.

My hands where shaking as I loaded my shopping onto the counter, the shame and guilt started washing through my like it did two years ago.
I knew this meeting was inevitable after all, considering we lived in the same area, but I'd prayed for it to not happen.

Only recently had I begun to think that perhaps I'll never have to see him, but I guess that if Allah wills it, anything is possible.

"That'll be £20.52, please." The cashier tells me.

I slip my bank card into the machine, type the pin and wait a few moments for the transaction to happen.
As soon as it's done I take my bags and speed walk towards the exit, not wanting to risk seeing him again.

But I was too curious for my own good, so I turned around a last time.

And there he was in the line at a cash point, looking straight at me.

But this time there was a smile.

Ever ran into someone you didn't want to?
