Lost memories
The doctors ran several tests on Felix, leaving all of you to wait anxiously outside his room. After what felt like hours, the doctor returned with the results.
Doctor: "He's fine. There's no internal damage, and his vitals are stable. You can go in and visit him now, but please notify us immediately if anything seems off."
Relieved, you and the others entered the room. Felix sat up slightly, his face marked with confusion.
Felix: "Guys... what happened?"
Changbin: "You got into a car crash."
Felix's eyes widened in shock.
Felix: "Oh my God. Really? Give me a phone—I need to call Aria and let her know I'm okay. She must be so worried."
The room fell silent. Everyone exchanged confused and worried glances.
Chan: "Aria?"
Felix: "Yeah, my girlfriend Aria. Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Chan: "Felix... what's the last thing you remember?"
Felix frowned, clearly trying to recall.
Felix: "I went on a date with Aria, and then we attended her granny's birthday party. Why are you asking?"
A pit formed in your stomach.
Chan: "Y/N, call the doctor."
You nodded quickly and rushed out to fetch the doctor, explaining the situation. He returned with you and stood beside Felix's bed.
Doctor: "Mr. Lee, can you tell me what year it is?"
Felix: "It's 2021. Why is everyone asking me weird questions?"
The doctor sighed, his expression grave.
Doctor: "I'm afraid you've lost your memories of the last two years, Mr. Lee. It's currently 2023."
Felix: "What?!" His voice trembled. "2023?!"
The shock in his voice mirrored the turmoil you felt inside. You froze, trying to process what you'd just heard.
The doctor continued, speaking gently.
Doctor: "This type of memory loss isn't uncommon after a traumatic head injury. With time, reminders, and familiar interactions, it's possible for the memories to return. For now, take it slow and be patient."
The doctor left the room, but an uneasy silence lingered.
Chan: "Felix... Aria passed away two years ago."
Felix's eyes widened, and his face went pale.
Felix: "W-what?"
Chan: "After your relationship was exposed, she couldn't handle the hate. She... she took her own life."
The words hit Felix like a train. He froze, his hands trembling.
Felix: "I... I should've protected her," he whispered, tears falling freely as he buried his face in his hands. "It's my fault..."
You stepped forward hesitantly, sitting down on the edge of his bed.
Y/N: "Felix, please don't cry. It's not your fault."
He looked up at you, his tear-streaked face full of confusion.
Felix: "Do I... know you?"
The question felt like a dagger to your chest. You swallowed the lump in your throat, forcing yourself to answer.
Y/N: "Y-yeah. You do. You just don't remember."
You quickly stood up and moved away, unable to hold back the tears threatening to spill. It hurt—so much—to see him look at you like a stranger.
Days Passed
You decided to stay by Felix's side, hoping your presence might help jog his memory. You cared for him, spoke to him, and tried to remind him of the bond you shared. But every time you offered to help, Felix would push you away.
Felix: "I can do it myself."
Or worse:
Felix: "I don't know you, so stop trying."
Despite his coldness, you stayed, hoping things would change.
It was dinner time, and everyone sat together in Felix's room. You sat beside him, silently eating, when he accidentally spilled his soup on himself.
You immediately jumped up to help.
Y/N: "Are you okay? Did you get burned?"
You reached for a towel, carefully wiping away the spill, but Felix jerked back.
Felix: "Why do you keep helping me?!"
His voice was sharp, cutting through the air like a knife.
Felix: "I told you I can do it myself! Just stay away from me—I don't even know you!"
The room fell silent, everyone too shocked to respond. You stared at him, blinking back tears that you couldn't hold in any longer. Without a word, you turned and ran out of the room, your heart breaking with every step.
Back at the Hotel
You threw yourself onto the bed, curling into a ball as the tears flowed freely.
Y/N: "He hates me..." you whispered between sobs. "What if he never remembers me? Will he hate me forever?"
You didn't hear the door open or the sound of footsteps rushing in.
Hwa-young: "Y/N! Y/N! Are you here? Please answer me!"
Her worried voice echoed through the room, but you couldn't bring yourself to respond.
Lee Know spotted you curled under the blanket and rushed to your side, throwing his arms around you tightly.
Lee Know: "I was so worried when you ran out like that."
You sniffled, your voice trembling.
Y/N: "H-he hates me... What if he never gets his memories back? What if he hates me forever?"
Hwa-young sat on the other side of the bed, gently rubbing your back.
Hwa-young: "Shh, don't say that. He doesn't hate you. He's just confused right now."
Lee Know nodded firmly, his voice steady.
Lee Know: "We'll get through this. But you need to calm down and rest first, okay? You've done so much already."
You nodded weakly, breaking the hug and sitting up. Hwa-young handed you some pajamas and waited while you changed.
After you settled back into bed, Hwa-young tucked you in and patted your back gently.
Hwa-young: "I'm staying with you tonight. I know you—if I leave, you won't sleep at all."
Her voice was soft, comforting. Despite the pain in your heart, her presence soothed you, and soon, exhaustion took over as you drifted into a restless sleep
