Five | Acceptance In Enemy Territory

>Five | Acceptance In Enemy Territory<

Midoriya stared dryly at the fish, a blank expression pasted onto his face with a disappointed flicker in his eyes, but his lips betrayed him as a smile was etched across his cheeks. He was so sure he would do good. Midoriya placed down his fish and chopsticks across the bowl.

"I'm going to my room." Muttered Midoriya getting up from his seat. He went to his room and saw Shigaraki sitting on the spinning chair, swirling around in Midoriya's room, "why are you here?" Asked Midoriya.

"I just wanna know how well you did," said Shigaraki with his eyes open widely, "you did do good, right? I can't afford my only piece to be lost."

Midoriya looked towards him with a smile on his face, "we'll just have to see."

"We'll have to see? What do you mean? You've failed me already?" Asked Shigaraki insensitively.

Midoriya turned to look at him, his eyes held no sense of happiness or joy but one of anger and disgust, though his mouth gave the opposite reaction and instead began to smile, "I've just obtained a quirk, whilst you've had this gate warping quirk since the start," He argued, "one can't just learn straight away."

"This isn't my quirk child," Midoriya looked at the man baffled and confused by the statement he said, Shigaraki took this as a chance to elaborate, "this is one of my acquaintances quirk. Kurogiri." Said the man and there a ghastly figure appeared from the shadows, his whole body was a black mist as he neared Midoriya.

"A pleasure to meet you Midoriya. I'm sorry for eavesdropping on all conversations you've had with Shigaraki here, but I can tell you'll be a useful asset in the villain league. Very useful." He said politely which confused Midoriya, "I'm second-in-command at the League of Villains, I do hope we get along."

Midoriya looked at the man and gave a huge smile, "pleasure's all mine. So it was you who provided me with the elements."

"Why do you always smile? Isn't that some hero bullshit?" Asked Shigaraki with a frown, he didn't like heroes just as much as Midoriya, if not his hatred was much worse and despicable. Midoriya's smile wasn't sinister or evil, not a smile which can make heroes tremble in their boots, instead it looked ever so genuine and so this didn't make any sense.

Midoriya willingly answered, turning away from Kurogiri for a brief moment, "so when people see me destroy their hero with a heroic smile, they'll see the truth," he smiled wider, "they'll see how heroes are just liars."

The heavy thumping of footsteps coming louder and louder signalled for Shigaraki and Kurogiri to go into hiding in the room which they did. Inko bursted through the door and immediately kneeled down onto the floor, on the palm of her hands was a letter, it looked official and had a stamp on the middle. Midoriya grabbed it off the palm of his mother's hand and she left the room.

Midoriya sat on his desk and tore the letter in half, out came a small piece of device which projected out a screen which caught him off guard but he soon recovered, he looked onto it and saw All Might on the screen which made him sneer in disgust.

"Why is he on the screen?" Growled Shigaraki from behind, Midoriya shushed him quickly and listened to what he had to say. Kurogiri followed behind.

"Is this on? Testing, testing, one, two, three," said All Might with his stupid, large grin stretched across his face, "anyways kiddo, you did exceptionally well on the written test, surpassing many but you've failed on the physical exam due to lack of points." Informed All Might.

"Knew it. My quirk is still lacking," Sighed Midoriya, "oh well." His hand reached for the device but then All Might's projection didn't disappear, his projection stayed despite being told what he needed to be told.

"But wait, there's more! Behold this screen!" He yelled and Midoriya confusedly looked up at the screen, there he saw was the girl he saved, asking Present Mic to hand over half her points to Midoriya which caught him surprised. Present Mic informed and elaborated on the fact that she wasn't allowed to do such a thing.

Present Mic explained she wouldn't have to.

"Is she stupid?" Grumbled Midoriya.

"We were looking for more than just smashing robots," said All Might, "did you think the department of heroics were going to reject you for doing such a thing? Perish the thought! It may be cheesy but that's in the job description! Midoriya Izuku: 60 points, Uraraka Ochako: 45 points. Meaning you passed kid."

Midoriya was baffled by the predicament he was in, "still doesn't explain why I was told by him." He muttered. It was as if All Might heard the boy ask the question and had answered him.

"The reason for me being here, I happened to see you out their kid, remembering what you had told me and despite what I told you, you still continued onwards. I am honestly ashamed to tell you, a promising kid, to give up on his dreams. That you cannot become a hero. But you prevailed!" Said All Might, "I can't wait to teach you in U.A. Midoriya."

"All Might teaching in U.A huh?" Said Midoriya whilst Shigaraki beside him looked beyond angry.

"You saved someone? Why? You should've left her!" He almost yelled but Midoriya signalled to the door and pushed his fingers to his lips.

"I didn't save her for the reason you think I did for, I realised that a hero school wouldn't just kick me out for saving someone, so it was purely for my own benefit. She was even willing to donate points," lied Midoriya getting up from his desk side and looking towards Shigaraki, "we'll speak later, why must you always come when my mother's around?"

"I could just kill her--"

"No. You will not. Go." Harshly said Midoriya. Shigaraki reluctantly abided and warped with Kurogiri out of the room. Midoriya went towards the bedroom door and opened it, his mother was pacing quickly back and forth, looking down at her intertwined fingers which hid underneath her chin, "I got in."

The three words chimed in his mother's ears, three words she wasn't expecting to hear but wanted to hear the most, three words which sounded so nonchalant but yet it resonated in the pit of her heart, three words she will never forget her once quirkless son had said to her.

Inko almost fell onto the ground and wept in tears of joy for her once quirkless son, she got up almost immediately and pushed a hug onto Midoriya, which he complied with and returned, "it's spectacular Izuku! Your father's quirk must've helped you." She beamed, grabbing his hands and twirling around in a circular motion.

"It did kinda, but it was mainly your quirk." Smiled Midoriya.

"My Quirk? Oh no, this is only good for when you wanna reach for the nearest tissue." She joked with Midoriya who gave a light chuckle, "speaking about tissues, I need to get some right now." She quickly stumbled to the living room, grabbing a box of tissue and blowing her nose into it.

Midoriya had a spark in his thought of realisation in his mind as he gulped saliva down his suddenly dry throat, there would be a day in which his now proud mother, would see him fighting against who he was suppose to be. A hero.

He didn't want to lose her, despite her quickly telling Midoriya indirectly that he should've given up, she was the only one who treated him normally, whether it was due to her motherly tendency or not, Midoriya couldn't bring himself to tell her. Or kill her.

-

After having a comfortable nights sleep, Midoriya got dressed up into his new U.A uniform and was tying his shoe laces at the front door, it was done sloppily and rushed but he left it and continued to the front door.

"Izuku! Do you have a pack of tissue?" Inko called out getting a yes in response, "how about your handkerchief?" She asked again worriedly which made Midoriya turn to her direction and show a wholesome grin across his face.

"Yeah mom. But now I gotta hurry!" He yelled opening the front door.

"Izuku," she stopped him in his trail, he rose an eyebrow and turned to his suddenly quiet mother. Midoriya tilted his head to the left, his two-toned hair bobbing a little on his head, "you're ultra cool now."

He gave a softer smile and looked into her green irises, "I'll see you soon mum."

His journey to U.A seemed so surreal in his eyes, sometimes he thought he would one day awaken and see that what everyone in his surroundings had told him would come true. This journey he yearned for all his years from a child till a few months ago seemed so fake. So unrealistic. A hallucination.

Now this pathway was one of danger, a pathway of war and pain and a pathway of death. Midoriya was more than willing to take to show the lies of a hero's laugh. The lies of a hero's smile when saving many people.

"I hope I don't have to see those three." Muttered Midoriya to himself silently, he was talking about Katsuki Bakugou, Tenya Iida and Uraraka Ochako. He gripped tightly on his backpack and headed straight for his new and old dreams.

A/N: I probably should've mentioned this before, and I was so caught up that now I finally realised it. Tomura Shigaraki's quirk isn't Gate Warp, not at all, not even in the slightest. This belongs to Kurogiri who wasn't revealed until now. Sometimes I feel so stupid to leave such an important detail so I'll have to go back and alter my work to explain this.

Tomura Shigaraki's quirk is in fact Decay, anything he touches will begin to decay, artificial or not. All fingers must be touching this object/thing/being for it to fully take control though, so if three fingers skim the surface no effect will take place.

((I did plan for Izuku to arrive at school on this chapter but decided it was best to have it separate.))

(Edit) : I got 406 readers! I go to bed for one second and I awake to see that I've gotten a LOT of readers. Thank you so much, l almost screamed. 😂
