The Following Night

A welcome home party was thrown for Russell DeWitt's return. Mostly everyone from Bixler Valley was there, celebrating his return. Rosie was there along with Kenzie, and Rosie hasn't smiled this much since she she saw her mom ten years ago. She was happy for the first time in a long time and she has someone to saw that happiness with.

Xander.

Xander asked her to be his girlfriend and she was over the moon about it. Xander cares deeply about Rosie and loves her very much. Rosie was worried about not having any family to stay with, until her mom's sister, Katy, came in and offered to let Rosie live with her. Katy moved to Bixler Valley not to long ago and is relieved she is away from that nasty man of a father.

"Okay, lets get the three DeWitt generations together," Kenzie smiled as she and Rosie approached the three boys and Xander's mother. The three boys posed together.

"Does this mean you'll be coming around more often?" Charlie asked his son.

"Yeah, dad, and not just for the holidays," Russell nodded and looked at his son.

"Smile guys," Kenzie said, lifting up her camera and snapped a picture of them.

"I think I might finish up the school year here in Bixler," Xander mentioned and looked right at Rosie. "There's someone here that I can't leave."

Rosie blushed as he said that and Xander winked at her, before she and Kenzie walked away.

Cara Jean walked up to Kenzie and Rosie.

"Xander!" Rosie called to her boyfriend.

"Look who it is," Kenzie smiled, gesturing to Cara Jean and her found dog.

"Cars Jean Spool of the fifth grade," Xander greeted.

"And Skyler McMuffin," Rosie added.

"Where'd you find him?" Xander asked.

"Get this, he was under my bed the whole time," Cara smiled and the trio was shocked.

Xander mentally yelled and Rosie gripped his hand to keep him from freaking out.

"This is why I don't do lost pets," Xander told the girls and Rosie smiled.

"He's not a pet," Cara Jean protested. "He's my best friend." She walked away, cooing over her pet and the three chuckled.

"I, uh... I gotta admit we make a pretty good team," Xander admitted and Rosie smiled.

"Yep, and I got the biggest story of my life," Kenzie added.

"My dad's in jail and I live with my aunt now," Rosie smiled and Xander smiled down at her.

"And I got my father back," Xander sighed. "Partners?"

"Partners," the girls agreed.

"Rosie," Rosie looked over and her Aunt Katy came over.

"Hi, Katy," She smiled and hugged her aunt. "What's up?"

"I have something for you," she smiled and Rosie was confused until Katy pulled out a beautiful gold locket.

"Oh my gosh," Rosie smiled at the locket. "It's my mom's locket. How'd you find it?"

"Before your mother passed away, I took it off her and kept it for ten years," She explained to her niece. "Since she couldn't give to you when you turned sixteen, I thought I could do the job."

"That's a beautiful locket," Kenzie smiled as Xander squeezes Rosie's hand.

"I wish she could've been here to give it to me," Rosie admitted and Katy gave her a sympathetic smile.

"I know, sweetie," Katy said and hugged her. Xander looked at the small blonde with sorrow. "But, if she was here, she would be so proud of you."

They pulled away and Rosie smiled softly.

"Very proud," Xander added and kissed her cheek.

"Here, put it on and I'll take a pic " Kenzie offered and Rosie turned around so Katy can put it on her. Kenzie pointed her camera at the duo and the two smiled as she snapped the picture.

"Beautiful," Xander said and Rosie blushed, twiddling with her locket.

Rosie leaned against the support beam of the house and Xander approached his girlfriend with a cookie.

"Got you a cookie," he smiled and handed it to her. Rosie took it and smiled up at him.

"Thank you."

So, the biggest question is, did I get the mysterious beauty? Well, by the looks of it, I think I did. I mean, she's here with me, and her jerk of a father is in jail. I'd never thought I would fall for someone like I did with Rosie, but when someone as mysterious and beautiful as Rosemary comes in your life, you never let them go. Never

Xander looked at Rosie's lips and she grinned, setting down her cookie on the table. Rosie leaned up and the couple kissed with their arms wrapping around eachother. Xander's around Rosie's middle and Rosie's around Xander's neck.

Hey, mind giving me some privacy? Trying to kiss my girlfriend here.
