As far as I'm concerned, your book is your book. You only have two very important guidelines to respect. 

1. Your book will be an end of the world scenario. Meaning it could be some form of apocalypse or whatever 

2. You must talk about the environment and how its important to make changes. You can incorporate it as the reason your world is falling apart or say if the characters had made changes they wouldn't be there right now. 

Why these guidelines? Because this contest is here to raise awareness on the environment.

En ce qui me concerne, votre livre c'est votre livre. j'ai seulement deux limites à vous instaurer. 

1. Votre livre est un scénario de fin du monde. Il peut donc être apocalyptique ou je ne sais quoi. 

2. vous devez parler de l'environment. Ca peut très bien être la raison pour laquelle votre monde est en pleine destruction, mais vous devez en parler. 

Pourquoi? parce que ce concours est là pour parler de l'environment, de faire comprendre aux gens l'importance d'agir maintenant;
