Chapter Ten: Bakugo Versus Midoriya

Ama's POV-

Thankfully, we aren't the first ones to face off against each other.

Tokoyami, Tsuyu and I gather with the rest of our classmates in the waiting room, the first teams to go up against each other are going to be the most entertaining to watch.

The villain team is composed of Bakugo and Iida, and while I believe the role suits the hot headed hedgehog I can only wonder how Iida would fare in this situation. He seems like a stickler for rules so I can't really imagine him as a villain.

The hero team? Midoriya and Ururaka, which is why I'm saying that this match will be particularly entertaining. It's obvious that Bakugo and Midoriya have a history together, and not a nice one at that, It's evident by the way the blonde treats the curly haired boy.

I hear my sister's heels click against the floor, and I look over to see her leaving the room with Kirishima and Sero. They're probably going to talk strategy, we should do that as well, I think to myself.

As soon as Zai and her group are out of earshot, Tsuyu speaks up. "So Ama, how does your sister's quirk work?" she asks, resting a finger on her chin. "I mean, we shouldn't go in blind at all."

Tokoyami and Tsuyu's eyes widen as I explain, the former furrowing his brow as if deep in thought. "That makes sense, and she didn't use it in the assessment test because it really wouldn't do much at all," the birdman says in a quiet tone. "Sadly we don't have a counter for that, how do you think she'll use it?"

"My guess is that she'll try to separate herself from her group. She'll probably leave them to guard the weapon and stall us for as long as possible," I reply, resting a hand on my hip. "I wish I could create earplugs for you guys, but my creations remain attached to my body."

"Well the counter is simple," Tsuyu says. "If she does separate herself and tries to incapacitate us, we will leave you to deal with her while Tokoyami and I go for the weapon. That way she can't affect us, and it'll be more of a fair fight."

"True, but we shouldn't underestimate her or her teammates. Tsu, you will most likely be our biggest ally here."

"What do you mean?" The frog girl asks, tilting her head.

Tokoyami smiles a little bit before answering. "Your mobility will allow you to get around Sero's tape easily, and I can distract Kirishima for you to get close to the weapon and snag it."

"Sounds like a plan," I say, turning my attention back to the screen. Midoriya's team ran into Bakugo, who seems to be ignoring Iida's pleas and actually appears to have cut off their communication entirely. We can't hear anything they are saying, but I watch as Ururaka runs on ahead of Midoriya.

"What if we are the villains though?" Tsu asks then, tilting her head. "I think we should make our top priority catching Zai if that's the case, you and Tokoyami could stay back and defend while I try to sneak around and capture her as soon as I can."

"That's actually really smart, we also have to remember that she has a ton of gadgets at her disposal," I reply, leaning against the wall beside me.

"Zai is their wild card, and a glass cannon. You just need to make sure you get the drop on them, because Zai is more flexible and agile than she appears."

"I feel like Sero is also a challenge, he's built for either hero or villain in this scenario since both sides can win by capturing the other team," Tokoyami adds. "The only one I don't see as much of an issue is Kirishima, but we should never underestimate our opponents."

Tokoyami has a point, and I wouldn't be surprised if my sister has something up her sleeve. She was very secretive when coming up with her costume, so I don't know what any of her gadgets do except for her radio and microphone.

I can only wonder what my sister has planned.

"What are they saying?" I hear Kirishima say, my sister taking her place to stand beside me. Seems they've returned, I think to myself as Zai smiles down at me. "These fixed cameras don't have any sound."

"I gave them micro-transceivers to communicate with, along with the building's blueprints." All Might replies before holding up a roll of white tape. "Also, this is capture tape! Tying this around your opponent is sufficient proof of capture!"

"So they've only got fifteen minutes, but the heroes don't know the location of the weapon right?" Mina asks, and All Might nods with his signature smile on his face. "Then the heroes are at a serious disadvantage here!"

"It's like Aizawa told you before, now say it with me!"

Everyone save for myself and a couple others cheer with All Might, shouting 'Plus Ultra!' at the top of their lungs. I merely keep my eyes on the screen as Midoriya and Bakugo seem to be having a heated battle. The former dodges the explosive boy's attack once again, earning many gasps from the rest of our classmates.

"He's amazing!" A wrestler looking boy named Sato says with wide eyes. "Going toe to toe without using his quirk against the top scorer of the entrance exam!"

I don't know, Sato. I watch as Midoriya attempts to secure Bakugo with the capture tape, but it's not enough to hold the blonde. After a moment Midoriya turns and runs down one of the hallways, effectively pissing Bakugo off.

I'm not sure if he is using Bakugo's rage against him or what, I think to myself. But it's apparent that he's skilled in making split second decisions. Running seems to be the best option, since it's clear that Bakugo has no interest in Uraraka. The green haired boy needs to think of a better strategy though, it will only buy him so much time.

Iida probably knows that if anyone were to go ahead, it should have been him due to his engine quirk. Ururaka doesn't seem like the type to be a good asset in this exercise, not to be rude or anything. She just seems more suited to rescues than battling villains.

They had no choice but to have Ururaka go ahead and split from Midoriya, I realize, crossing my arms. Bakugo would surely follow wherever Midoriya went, and when looking at both teams potentially going head to head..

Midoriya and Ururaka wouldn't stand a chance.

I shift my attention to Ururaka, who is watching Iida from behind a pillar. Seems she's found the weapon, I think to myself as Iida appears to be immersing himself into the role of a villain. The girl does her best to stifle her laughter, but Iida notices and zeroes in on her location immediately.

I also notice there aren't any objects in the room beside the weapon. Iida must know that her quirk allows her to levitate anything she touches, so he probably moved anything she could possibly get a hold of.

There isn't much time left for them to win, so I wonder how exactly they'll pull this off.

I cover my mouth in horror as Bakugo pulls a pin on one of his gauntlets, releasing a massive explosion that blows a hole right through the side of the building. "I thought this was just practice!" Kirishima shouts in worry. "Sensei, shouldn't you stop him? He's crazy, and looking to kill!"

Midoriya barely manages to get back up as Bakugo stares him down, a smirk plastered on his face. I look over at All Might, who looks like he's about to beat the angry Pomeranian's ass right now. "Bakugo, use that move again and I will forcibly end the match. You will lose."

"Using massive attacks like that is a good way to get your own stronghold destroyed! Whether hero or villain, it's a bad move, and a good way to lose points!"

Bakugo screams in frustration before charging at Midoriya again, but as the green haired boy prepares to block it, Bakugo instead uses a small explosion to change his position in the air. He ends up behind Midoriya, blasting him in the back and sending him forward.

"He used his first attack as a smokescreen, before altering his position in the air. Then followed up with another explosion.." Todoroki summarizes, and now I notice his hero costume.

What the hell am I looking at? I think to myself, raising a brow in confusion. Half of his body is covered in ice, and his eye on the same side is glowing red. Then again, I guess it's better than grape boy.

The bi colored boy meets my gaze, raising a brow before making his way over to me. Shit, I was staring at him for too long! I think to myself, my eyes immediately going to the floor.

"Your cape is twisted."

Uh.. what?

I blink a couple times in surprise as Todoroki gestures to the piece of my cape that connects to the front. Sure enough, the fabric had gotten twisted somehow and I didn't even notice.

"Oh, uh thank you," I reply, unclipping the cape and straightening it out.

Todoroki merely shrugs as he turns his attention back to the screen. "No problem. I'll be honest, I was hoping I'd get to fight against you in this training." His voice is very quiet, so he's probably a wallflower like myself or simply just shy. Maybe not the latter though, since he is talking to me just fine as is.

"Really? Why is that?" I ask, a confused expression on my face. Most people want to fight against Zai or with her at least, which is fine because it means I'm not bothered much by people. I don't mind my sister taking the spotlight.

"Your sister has an aura of mystery about her, because hardly anyone knows what her quirk can do right now," he says. "Your quirk is like Momo's, but I have a feeling you would put up a bigger challenge than either of them."

Momo's quirk allows her to create objects like myself, only she can separate them from her body. She has to know the specific material it's made of to create it though, while I only need sunlight to make whatever I need.

"I don't mean to be rude, but they are both recommended students," I respond, turning my gaze to the screens. "I don't want to think any of us are better than the others until we see what we are capable of."

I hold myself back from blowing up at him like I did with Momo earlier, I don't want a repeat of what happened. Zai would force me to apologize, and I'm not sure if this boy would forgive me as easily as Momo had.

"Fair enough, sorry. I mean no disrespect to your sister, or Momo for that matter." Todoroki says, and I notice a slight pink tint covering his cheeks. "I just think it would be interesting to spar against you, that's all."

"Well, Todoroki. I'm sure if you ever want to practice you could always ask," I say slowly, surprising myself with the words that come out of my mouth. Then again, it's not like it's a big deal right? I've sparred against Zai, it's just another form of fighting.

No words needed when a fist to the face does the job just fine.

Freaking Todoroki's smile gets me every time, such a cute bean~ And then he goes all kickass and I'm left with whiplash.

Shoto Todoroki- Quirk: Half Cold, Half Hot. He can create ice from the right side of his body, and flames on his left! He prefers to use the ice side though for personal reasons!
