Dedeciated to my favourite person in the world, Giratinalord10 and my furbaby, Luna. ( I know you can read this Luna, you're smart enough to steal my spot on the couch. )

Rolling around in the linen sheets, the orphan stayed restlessly awake. Maybe stealing Mrs.Diablo's cup of coffee wasn't worth it. She counted sheep, pigs, horses, dragons even, and still found her eyes fixed on the peeling paint on the wall. Her environment seemed to reek of bleak and charmless pattern, as there were 6 evenly aligned beds, 3 on each side, and a window on both sides.

Her friend, Jackie Johnson, or J.J, noticed the long-haired girl angrily counting sheep on her nightly trips to the restroom.

"One darn sheep. Two darn sheep. Three darn sheep."

"That triple dog dare wasn't worth it was it?" Her older, mature voice, had a chuckle in it as Jackie whispered.

"No."

Jackie saw Silver's head poking out of the blankets, revealing blue-green eyes, looking almost like turquoise. The moon seemed to reflect a bit on her eyes, and the green shone like gold.

The 14-year old girl chuckled in a light manner and proceeded to go to the bathroom.

"Wait." Silver sat up and whispered loudly. "Why does coffee make you stay up?" Though she was nearly 10, her knowledge was a bit limited.

She shook her head in a disbelieving manner and left the bedroom.

Sliver clutched the blanket and plopped back on the bed, a bit loudly. "I'm never doing a Triple dog dare ever again." She proclaimed to herself, as her eyes meet the dark corner of the wall. If she stared there long enough, she could imagine the monsters in her stories sitting there, creeping in the black. Sometimes she could imagine dragons with scales darker than a black hole, with red eyes and grey tipped horns. She stared for a good while but returned to the comfort of linen blanket over her head.

Jackie closed the bathroom door and sat back down on her bed, yawning. "I don't know about you, but I'm tired as a sloth." She grabbed her blanket and pillow, adjusting it to her needs. "Goodnight Sliver."

"I wish I could have a good night." Silver said in a hissy fit. "But goodnight."

Eventually, the caffeine wore off and left Sliver exhausted at 3 in the morning. Even though they wake up at 9 for their routine, she was still given time to dream.

She bounced on the clouds like any 9-year-old would, happy and carefree, not knowing clouds are actually a gas and you can't stand on them. But this is her dream. Don't shatter it.

The clouds were a light pink, the area around her seemed to go from a peach-orange to a mix of purple and pink.

She jumped high in the air, but instead of landing on the clouds like a fluffy pillow, she fell right through, getting cloud in her eye. She quickly wiped it away and looked around as she fell endlessly. Surprisingly, Sliver was not scared. Until the sky grew darker with storm clouds.

C'mon, change it back, it's a dream, I can control this. She closed her eyes and thought to herself.

But the thunderstorm grew, and just like if she was staring into the corner of the room, the black-scaled dragon creeped out of the darkness, prowling.

She took deep breaths and was able to lucid dream. Making another cloud below her, she floated high in the air, but the dragon noticed her.

Oh no.

Her cloud started to zip all around the place, as she hung on for dear life. She didn't want to hit that peach pink ground anytime soon.

Where are you going, you vroom vroom piece of cotton candy? She yelled to the cloud which was now zooming towards the thunderstorm.

Oh no.

She braced for impact, only for a thunderbolt to strike the cloud, sending it flying towards the ground she did not want to touch.

The dragon started flying towards her, muttering something in a corroded voice.

"Wchka eup."

"Wahk up." The dragon was getting dangerously close.

"Wake up!" A tall figure nearly spat at her. "Maybe you should steal more of my coffee, it would certainly get you out of bed faster." It was Ms.Diablo.

A new morning, new problems.

this is a teaser because I dont have the whole story planned and set in stone yet, but I wanted to introduce y'all to the characters. I'm not sure when I'll publish more chapters, but hopefully sometime soon.
