CHAPTER 15 - shopping
CHAPTER 15 - Second emergency
"Hey old man," I greeted as I entered the common floor, the Avengers all gathered in the couches next to the large windows.
"Hey sweetheart," he said back before looking up; "Old man?"
"Sweetheart?" I replied sassily, referring to how he hadn't called me that since... Ever. He mumbled something instead of ACTUALLY replying, and I instead went ahead and stood in front of Natasha, who stubbornly ignored me.
"Hi," I said to get her attention.
"Hello," she said, not looking up from her phone.
"Helloooo," I repeated in a singing voice and started swaying from side to side in front of her.
"Does anyone know what's wrong with my daughter?" my dad joked as he looked at me, still dancing in front of Natasha.
"Yes, she wants the assassins attention," I replied, feeling weird refering to myself in third person. I sighed before pulling out my phone.
Starkling: NATASHA!!!!!
I heard the different avengers phones beeb as they pulled them out, only to sigh when they saw my name.
Widow: Geez Vee
Starkling: You were only looking at your phone
Starkling: And now im on it
Starkling: Hi
Official Stark: Ok im leaving this chat
Ant🐜: I feel left out
Starkling: You ARE left out. U arent even an avenger
Ant🐜: Am too
Starkling: U wish
Ant🐜: I'm more avenger than you
Bruce: You do know this chat is for emergencies, don't you?
I rolled my eyes.
Starkling: Literally NO ONE is gonna use a facebook group chat in case of an emergency
Starkling: Except for me
Starkling: I have an emergency
Ant🐜: AGAIN?!
Starkling: Don't worry, it's a girls emergency
Ant🐜: Cassie's calling gtg bye
Bruce: What does 'gtg' mean?
Legolas: Ah. Chocolate is in the cabin.

Bruce: Oh where are you going?
Widow: 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Starkling: GEEZ IT'S ABOUT CLOTHES YALL
Official Stark: 'Yall'? All those private teachers was a waste
Starkling: I'd be saying that if I had a daughter smarter than myself as well😎

Starkling: U??? did not??? pay??? literally???

Official Stark: Aha! That counts
Starkling: whatever you say, old man
Widow: Vee, what do you need?
"Why are you all looking at your phones?" I looked at Pietro, who looked weirdly at all of us.
"Wait, you're not in the chat?" I asked before clicking my way into members.
"Weird," I mumbled as I added Pietro Maximoff and Wanda Maximoff.
Starkling added Pietro to the chat
Starkling added Wanda to the chat
Starkling changed He's fasts name to 'He's fast'
Starkling changed She's weirds name to 'She's weird'
Starkling: Wanda, Nat, we need to go shopping

Starkling: And she's magic
Starkling: GET IT??!??!!
Official Stark: Why are you going shopping??
Starkling: Birthday party. Need a dress.
Official Stark: What about the dresses you already have?
Starkling: Dad
Starkling: No
Bruce: Your dad is right, Vee, there's nothing wrong with wearing the same dress twice
Starkling: Definitely not
Starkling: Except for this time
Starkling: Also dad u lille hypocrite don't think I don't know you're getting a new suit

Bruce: How do I leave the chat?
"Come on guys!" my dad exclaimed, breaking the silence; "This is a parenting decision, if I wanted her to give an allowance I would have!"
"Well," I started; "You kind of do."
"What?"
"I mean, I do get allowance from your account," I explained while letting my fingers dance over the locked screen on my phone.
"How? Wait - Pepper?!"
"It's not her fault! You're a billionaire, she thought I deserved to enjoy it too," I explained with a shrug.
"You guys are impossible," my dad stated tiredly.
"I wanna come." I looked up from my Armani bag and at my dad, standing in my doorway.
"'Scuse me?"
"I want to go shopping with you," he repeated himself, not a trace of joking in his voice.
"You want to go shopping with me?" I asked suspiciously; "Why?"
"Because I want to get you a dress, okay, can we just go?" he asked as he gestured to the hallway.
"Why do you want to get me a dress?" I stubbornly asked, crossing my arms above my chest as my dad rolled his eyes.
"It's a dad thing, okay? Getting his daughter a dress. Just let me have this, please," he asked. I nodded slowly.
"Okay."
"What about this?" I suggested, spinning around in the dark red dress with my arms raised.
"Ohh, I like that one," Wanda complimented, sipping on the complementary champagne in the shop.
"I don't," Natasha commented; "It's a bit too... Big, you know? You want something you can go dancing in, too."
"Good call," I agreed as I turned back to the dressing room. I pulled the curtain, and unzipped the back of the dress - thanking myself for my hypermobility.
"How long is this gonna take?" I heard my dad whispering from the plush chairs outside the changing room.
"You're the one who wanted to come, Tony," I could hear Natasha reply calmly. I took the next dress on the rag - a white one with little silver thingys all over it and started putting it on.
"We've been at this for hours," my dad complained, and I could practically hear Natashas smug face.
"But we still need both Natasha and my dress, too," Wanda commented, her sokovian accent become less noticeable by the day.
My mind immediatly went to Pietro and his accent. His draga mea's, how he would swear under his breath when he got frustrated enough and how his eyes lit up whenever he smiled. I shook the thoughts out of my head and straightened the white fabric.
I once again removed the beige curtain and did another spin.
"Looks great," Wanda commented - she'd liked literally every dress I'd tried on.
"It's too...""White, right?" I interrupted Natasha; "I feel like a doll."
"Try the green one we found," Natasha instead suggested, making me nod thinkingly.
"Yeah, that's a little less... Princesssy, you know?" I agreed.
"You could try the blue one on I found?" my dad suggested. I looked at Natasha who discreetly hid her smile behind the tall champagne glass.
"Yes, I will, I will go do that," I said awkwardly before sending Wanda a desperate look as I pulled the curtain again.
I looked at the blue dress my dad had found. A big, black and boxy belt seperated the top from the skirt, which hung baggily beneath it. I sighed as I pushed it aside and found the one I'd originally wanted to try on. The red fabric made it stand out, and I decided to try it on.
"Opinions?" I asked as I once again removed the curtain to see three avengers looking at me.
"It's perfect," Natasha began.
"It looks so good on you. I say that's the one," Wanda voted.
"It's a little... couldn't you find one with sleeves?" I looked down at the dress. The spaghetti straps didn't exactly cover a lot, and it did show a bit of cleavage, but nothing too inappropriate for a party.
"The skirt is long," I mentioned.
"It's slit," my dad replied.
I rolled my eyes; "I like this, I'm gonna buy this."
"Fine," my dad muttered; "at least we'll be done shopping."
"Actuallyyyy," I dragged the word out.
"We still need shoes," Wanda excused.
"And Nat, you really should get some kind of accessory for your dress, maybe like a necklace or something," I suggested. She nodded thinkingly.
"I don't really have anything that goes with it, do I?"
I shook my head, making my dad moan as he buried his face in his hands.
