Anyway, let's get to the chapter.
◇─◇──◇───◇──◇────◇
You sit there in silence, hearing multiple people call your name. Hometown was a pretty small town with limited residences, so there weren't many places to hide or to..well think. You gave that excuse to yourself so your could leave the house, with no further thought of wanting to make things easier for people.
Of course, only Moon knew where you were, so she walked back inside the house to write. She knew that you hurt, so she didn't want to disturb that. But she was indeed worried about you.
Although your house was quite far away from where you were "thinking", you could hear your father, Susie, Her parents, and Ralsei calling your name. You just wanted to sit here forever and look at the stars. You didn't want to go home. But then again.
You wanted to go to Noelles house and tell her "Hey congratulations, Susie likes you better!" But that thought just made you feel more sour. Although you wanted to blame Noelle for everything, it wasn't her fault. You look down at your knees, your bandaids had fallen off, making your cuts and bruises hurt more than they already have.
You hated every moment of your life. All those times you made yourself look like an idiot. All the times you tripped, all those times you thought to smile. You regretted everything.
You wanted to leave and never look back.
But even though you felt like killing her with every ounce of your being,
You. Still. Liked. Her.
"AAAAAGHHHHH"
You shout out of anger and frustration, your hands over your head and your face showing stressful emotion. Why can't you just get the hell over her? She didn't like you at all but you still hopelessly hold on to her. What the hell?
"Oh shit."
Your family and friends had heard the shout and were running toward the cemetery situated on the left of the chapel. You decide that running into the trees was the only option. So you do, and you run up, trying to run through the trees but appear at the flower shop that Kris' stepdad owned. You remembered that it would usually be straight across, so you run straight.
But you don't appear there.
Instead, you appear at a pond, with trees surrounding it, and the moon glowing on the surface of the water. Everything looked beautiful, ethereal. You thought you stepped into a picture, until-
"THERE YOU ARE!" Susie says taking you by surprise. She held you by the wrists and your father came out. He was out of breath and had to sit on one of the tree stumps that he saw to catch his breath. Apparently, your father told Susies parents not to worry, so they went home when they heard you shout.
"WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?" Susie says angrily. "YOU WORRIED ME AND YOUR FATHER!" You realise that she didn't mention her own parents, but you didn't correct her. Susie lets go of you, clearly upset. Ralsei comes out of the trees and bushes, adjusts his glasses and looks up. "Y/N!" He says, clearly worried sick for you. He hugs you (well your legs because he can't reach.) for the longest time, his shoulders shaking signifying that he was indeed upset and was crying.
You didn't want anyone to cry for you, but Ralsei..He wouldn't have stopped if you told him to. And even if you wanted to stop him. You couldn't. You were frozen in place, and you felt yourself getting upset. You regretted making yourself look like an idiot, but maybe this one time you can let yourself slide. Your eyes watered and your cheeks grew hot, and before you knew it, you were crying.
You knelt down to Ralsei's level and hugged him close. Out of all this, it was nobody's fault. But yet Ralsei, he blamed himself for nearly losing you, and you knew that, but you didn't want him to think that way. Your father stands up, and smiles for the first time in a long time. You look at him. You had never seen him smile like that before. You wipe your eyes, amazed.
The last time you saw that smile, was when you were going through the photo albums your family had. His wedding day. That was when you saw it. And you looked at him.
For the first time, you have Everything You Need.
Right in front of you.
You had Susie, Ralsei and your father.
And of course you always had your father, but for once, he was happy.
He was sincerely happy. And for once he loved you with every bit of his heart.
He looks at you and Susie.
"You guys need a good talk. I'll be expecting you guys back before midnight." He takes Ralsei gently by the hand.
Ralsei smiles. "Maybe you guys can finally have se-"
"RALSEI NO. BAD FLUFFY GOAT."
Your father looks at both of you and straightens his tie. "Speaking of which, who taught him sexual health? He was going on about it for the longest time."
"That's what she said." Susie says.
"Who taught him?"
You and Susie both point at eachother.
"WHAT?? I DIDNT?!" You say, confused.
"Y-YES YOU DIIIIID!" Susie mused, clearly not wanting to take the blame.
Your father rolls his eyes. "Ugh, doesn't matter anymore. But next time, leave it to the expert." He points to himself. "Ew dad no!" Your dad smile and laughs. "Anyway, sort yourselves out! You know I'm not too favorable of drama, Y/N." Your father then leaves with Ralsei in hand, the rustling of the trees and bushes growing silent as each second went by.
And as they were leaving, you swore that you heard Ralsei say "I hope they name one of their kids after me." And then your father laughing. But you just looked down instead, not wanting to know whether it was reality or just your imagination.
Then the hurting awkwardness bites you right in your non existent balls.
But you knew that you had to start first. You don't know how to explain the problem at hand, and you knew that maybe you took it the wrong way. So you just decided to be honest, something that you struggled with, along with confrontation. You look at Susie, who was looking at the pond. You didn't blame her, it was indeed beautiful.
But not as beautiful as her.
"Ugh look at your cheesy ass." You mentally slap yourself.
"Hey...I'm sorry for taking everything the wrong way.." You start off. She looks at you, clearly surprised that you were the first one to speak. You clear your throat and continue.
"It was just, when I first saw Noelle staring at you in class, I just, grew a little overprotective, okay?" Susie looks at you. "She was staring at me in class?" You nod. "Yeah. She likes you. A lot. When I tried asking her for the report, she just told me to not talk to her. And then she just left"
Susie nods. "Yeah, I saw that one. I was wondering why. I thought you told her it wasn't Christmas yet".
You giggle. "Nah, Christmas is cool." Susie smiles. "I didn't mean the "Noelles the best girl ever" you know?" You look at her. "I only said that to push my opinion. She's alright, but she isn't the best."
Oh no, you aren't ready for this.
"Ralsei told me that Noelle may not like you, but now I see that's probably true. But just know that you can't please everyone." She approaches you, and stands next to you.
"Trust me, I've tried." She says, shaking her head and looking at the ground.
"Tried to please everyone?" You say, looking at her sympathetically. You knew how it felt to want to please everyone, and it was hurtful.
"Yeah." She says simply, not knowing what to say.
"Well I don't know what everyone else is seeing, because I think you're perfect the way you are honestly, so even if you don't please immediate society..." You turn to her, with a serious look in your eyes.
"You please me."
Susie looks the other way and coughs into her hand. "Sorry, was that cheesy?" You say, half flustered, half giggly. "Nono, thanks I just-" you got her. You knew it, and you smirked.
"I'm not used to anyone saying that I'm "perfect", you know? I think that's a little bit of a stretch." You smile and roll your eyes. "You're only saying that because you are." You wink, not knowing why exactly. "sTOP BEING CHEESY!-"
"Well do you get the message?" You say crossing your arms. You didn't think that it would get so cold. But you stayed silent about it.
"I GET IT OKAY?" She says, obviously not wanting to take your words into account. She then looks at you and takes off her jacket. "Nono, it's fine!" You say, not wanting her to give you any more effort. "I'm not cold." She rolls her eyes. "Yeah, not cold my ass. Put it on." She throws it at you and you scowl at her, before giving in and smiling, putting the oversized purple jacket on.
"Hey, what's the time?" You ask, not wanting to take your fathers words for granted. She pulls out her phone. "Uh...it's 10:30." You nod in thanks. "Oh, no rush then." You both sit in silence. Both looking at the pond.
You mentally cuss to the awkwardness, but the silence was beautiful and you both knew that you both enjoyed eachothers company. She pulls you toward her, and you jolt in surprise.
"Y/N, I know you're cold." She says, before wrapping her arms around you. "Oh, than-" "don't. I wanted to do this, to be honest." "O-Oh" you say, smiling and looking to the stars, mentally thanking them for this beautiful night.
This scene was indeed a beautiful picture.
