Cody's POV
"I hope you can swim." Mercy stated flatly and dove head first into the water.

"Mercy!" I shouted. Instinctively I took off my boots and dove down into the dark waters, following the small silhouette that I could see.

I heard a plunge from above, but didn't pay any attention to it. The water got lighter as I swam up to the surface. When my head popped out of the water I gasped for air and looked around the shores.

"So you can swim." Mercy stated from the shore. I swam over and pulled myself out of the water and onto the sand. Right as I was in the sand, Jade popped out of the water with a loud gasp.

"You two are nuts! One day you will get yourselves killed." She sassed and pulled herself out onto the shore.

"What did I tell you though?" Mercy said and motioned to our surroundings. It almost looked like the cove, but behind where we surfaced was a large waterfall. It was about 70 feet high, from my perspective. There was a little opening for the water to drain out into the ocean. Around the water was sand that soon turned into a soft, bright green grass. I'll admit, it's a beautiful place.

"I don't have the words." Jade uttered, astonished. "There's nothing like this on Catalina."

"I found it one day when I crashed in the cove. I fell in the water and it pulled me here. I have to find another entrance though. My parents are getting suspicious that I always come home and my clothes are wet but it's sunny outside." Mercy explained.

"Ugh speaking of parents, I gotta go meet mine for a 'little chat' which is what my dad is calling it. See you guys later." Jade said and disappeared in the water.

"...so.." I hesitated. "You think you'll share this place with anyone else?"

"Eh,  let's just keep it between us for now. It'll be our little secret." She smiled slightly, I looked over to her to find her looking at the water. "Oh I can teach you how to skip rocks!" She suddenly shouted, snapping me out of my trance.

"Um..."

"Come on!" She said and grabbed both of my hands and pulled me towards the water. "Okay to start you want to find a small, flat rock." She stated and scowered the shore. "I found two!" She handed me a rock. "Hold i like this." I llooked at her hand and mirrored how she was holding the small rock. "And you throw it by just slightly flicking your wrist." She threw the stone and it skiped along the surface of the water about 3 times before plunging down.

"Wow. Like this?" I said and tossed it how she did. It skipp along the water then plunged, causiong cheers from both of us.

"Exactly like that!" She shouted, then laughed. We both laughed for a while, then sat back down on the shoreline. We heard faint roars from the other side of the huge wall. "Do you hear that?" She said and stood up slowly. I pulled  out my knife but she turned and faced me. "Put that away you know we don't kill dragons." She snapped.

"Sorry." I apologized. "It's on the other side of the wall."

"Thanks genius." She said with a sarcastic smile. The dragon roared again. "Toothless?" She muttered before running to the water and diving down. I sighed and dove in.  I swam through on the same path that we came through, and about 30 seconds later, I rose from the water into the sunny atmoshpere.

"Cody come on! Toothless is trying to tell us something!" Mercy shouted as she slipped into her boots and ran to the dragon. I trotted out of the water and ran to my boots. I slipped one foot into a boot. "Cody seriously could you go any slower."

"Well I could go slower. Is that what you want?" I replied sarcastically. She stood, glaring at me. "Okay I'll go faster."

"You better." She mumbled then turned to Toothless.

"Okay I have my boots on. Why are we in such a hurry?"

"I don't know but I think I'm gonna listen to the dragon that can turn me into ash in a single second."

"i will agree with you on that." I stated simply, running to catch up with her. Her yak tail was soaked with water. (remember, that's their version of ponytails. I figured the new name fits their time period more)

"Ugh my hair is so annoying when it's wet." She complained and pulled the ribbon out of her hair. It dropped down to her mid back, glistening in the sun. I looked at it, astonished.

"Has anyone ever seen your hair like this?"

"Well my parents but that's it."

"Then may I be the first to say it looks beautiful." She stopped and stood straight.

Mercy's POV

Did... did he just say my hair looked beautiful? I didn't know how to respond. I just stood frozen, letting my cheeks turn pink. I looked back at him slightly.

"Thanks." I replied with a smile. He grinned. Toothless nudged my leg, making me move forward. "OKay Toothless I'm walking." I laughed and pat his head. "Cody come on."

"Coming." He responded and ran up to my left side. "So...."

"So.."

"What do you think Toothless is telling us?"

"Maybe that there's something going on in the village that we need to see?"

"Sounds reasonable." He shrugged. I looked at my boots.

"I'm soaking wet my dad is gonna be curious."

"What do you mean by curious?"

"Well when your daughter shows up covered in water with her hair down, something is different." I smiled. We walked out of the thick trees, ending up by the academy. "Toothless where to bud?" He motioned his head in the direction of the Great Hall.

"More visitors?" Cody assumed.

"I don't know. Maybe. Sounds reasonable." I quoted, making both of us smile. "Let's go up there."

"Lead the way."

We were walking up the hill towards the stairs to the Great Hall, when Toothless picked up my right leg, turning me towards my house.

"Oh is it at the house?" I looked at him. He gave the best nod that he could, then bounded in front of me. "You know I don't run very fast Toothless." He sat patiently as I caught up to him.

"Do you want me to wait here?" Cody asked.

"You can come with us." I started. "I mean, I don't see why not."

"Alright then wait up!" He joked. He ran up the hill to where Toothless and I were, then we walked towards the house.

"Do you think something happened to your parents?"

"No Toothless would've stayed at the house. Either he came to find me o one of my parents sent him to find me."

"How did he know where to look?"

"Well first, that's where my dad first trained Toothless, then that's where they would always hang out, and soon where him and I hung out."

"So the cove means a lot to your family doesn't it?"

"Oh definitely. A lot has happened there."

"I can tell." He said as we arrived at my front door.

"Just stay here while I check it out, okay?"

"Alright. I'll be out here." He stated as I walked inside.

"Dad? Mom?" I called out as I shut the door.

"Oh Mercy they're upstairs." Gobber said as he dried his hand and hook with a towel.

"Ok,did they send Toothless to find me?"

"Yes."

"Well, why?"

"I think it's better if you go upstairs and see for yourself." He stated as guided me up the stairs.

"I can walk up the stairs by myself thank you Gobber." I sarcastically stated. 

"Just get in there." Gobber replied and shoved me through the open door. 

"OKay okay geez." I mumbled as he shut the door behind me.

"Oh Mercy you're here."  Allysa stated as she walked up to me, then began guiding me down the hallway.

"Yeah so what is this about?"

"I think your parents will explain it better then me. I've never been rerally good at explaining things. Unless it's to the twins. Then it's easy."

"How can explaining something to the twins be easy?"

"I'm not quite sure." She started. We arrived at my parents bedroom door. "Ah finally."

She pulled the door open and I stood frozen with shock.

Late and short I know but I love you please don't hate me

I was having writers block for SO LONG!!

But then I watched HTTYD 2 (which I bought on DVD today) and then I could write forever.

Anyway, I made my sister and mom watch it.

They cried.
