Mercy's POV

I woke up to the sound of floorboards creaking downstairs. I grabbed my bow and arrows, then quietly tip-toed out of my room and down the stairs. Once I got downstairs, I didn't see anyone there. I shrugged and went back towards the stairs, but I heard it again. I immediately froze and listened. It came back, but there still wasn't anyone here. It sounded like it was coming from under the house. I stood still for another moment, before everything started to shake.

Astrid's POV

I woke up abruptly when I felt the house shake. I noticed Hiccup bolt up right after I was up.

"What in Thor's name was that?" I said once the shaking ceased.

"I have no clue. Where's Mercy?"

"I don't know she should be in her room." I said. He darted straight out of bed and across the hall.

"She's not in there. Mercy! Where are you?" He shouted.

"Downstairs! You guys felt the shaking too right?" I heard a quiet response. I got out of bed and ran downstairs after Hiccup. Once I got downstairs, there was nothing there but a big hole in the floor. "Down here!" I ran over and peered over the edge of the hole. I saw Mercy standing at the bottom in the middle of the hole.

"Hiccup this is familiar." I said.

"Too familiar. Go get the gang and bring them here." He said. I ran upstairs, got changed, and flew to Allysa's house first. I knocked on the door to see her dressed.

"Oh Astrid I'm glad you're here there was shaking all over the island everyone's gone mad!" She said.

"We felt it too now we need the gang at my house now."

"Okay why?"

"Hiccup told me too. You go get Snotlout and Fishlegs, I got the twins." I said and flew to the twins house. I banged on the door and a tired looking Ruffnut opened the door.

"Ruff, Tuff, we need you guys at my house right now." They stared at me blankly. "Just get to my house." I said and flew off, followed by the twins. Once we got home I saw Hiccup tying ropes together.

"Woah what happened here?" Allysa asked.

"We got hit by the shaking pretty hard." I replied.

"Guys this is awfully familiar." Fishlegs said. He started going into his weird thinking stage, until he suddenly snapped out of it. "Hiccup that wasn't normal shaking."

"Whatever it was it almost killed my daughter." He said.

"Oh no I'm fine! Just a few bruises no big deal!" I heard her shout from the bottom of the hole. "Oh and cut on my leg."

"Hiccup, the shaking was caused by a Whispering Death mining under the village." Fishlegs pointed out.

"I thought we got rid of those?" I said.

"They must be looking for food." Hiccup said as he lowered the rope into the hole.

"Why would they need to? Don't they have thier own island?" I asked.

"Well it could be because of the weather change. Usually fish and things migrate around the oceans during different seasons. They could be waiting for the fish to return." Fishlegs said.

"Do whispering deaths eat fish?" Allysa asked.

"Usually they eat what they get from under villages like chickens. But if they aren't under a village they won't have those kinds of things, so they would have to go with the fish from the sea." Hiccup said as he began to pull the rope up.

"Correct." Fishlegs said.

"So why do we need to be here?" Snotlout asked.

"Well if there is a whispering death on this island-" I started.

"We're all going to have to drive it away." Hiccup finished.

"Isn't Toothless the alpha? Can't he just do his weird alpha trick and tell the whispering death to leave?" Ruffnut said.

"Guys she has a point." Allysa said.

"It's worth a shot but if that doesn't work we drive it out of here the old fashioned way." Hiccup said as Mercy's head popped out of the hole. She was covered in dirt and mud, along with a deep cut down the side of her theigh. "We should get you to Gobber, he has this special way of getting dirt out of wounds."

"Is this going to hurt?" Mercy asked.

"Well it won't be painless." As Hiccup said that, Mercy's eyes widened.

Hiccup's POV

"That's a nasty gash. How did you get it?" Gobber asked.

"I heard creaking in the floor so I went downstairs to look what it was, and the next thing you know, the floor beneath my feet is gone and I'm falling. I gashed it on the point of a sharp rock." She explained.

"Well all we have to do it get some water in there, and add some pressure. Should close up in no time."

"Well how long is 'no time'?" I asked.

"Maybe a little over a week." He said as he grabbed a small bottle of water.

"What happened here?" Mom asked as she came in behind Gobber.

"I fell through the floor in our house and gashed my leg on a sharp rock when I was falling."

/~flsshback~\ 

I was walking around the living room, looking for the source of the creaking floorboards. I stopped when I felt a small shake. I stood near the end of the table. When the ground started shaking again, but more violently, I ran towards the stairs. All of the sudden I was falling. It was dark, and the light of the sunlight through the windows faded as I fell further.

"AH!" I screamed when I felt something scratch down my right theigh. I landed face down with a loud thud. "Ugh ow." I said and peeled myself off the ground. I looked around and saw tunnels of just hollowed land. I went to the right and walked down the tunnel. I limped around since I couldn't put pressure on my leg, when I saw a pair of blank white eyes. There was no color and no pupil. I quickly limped as fast as I could back to where I fell.

/~flashback over~\

"Well that must've really been an experience." Mom said.

"Yeah. So Fishlegs said that was a Whispering Death tunnel I fell into."

"Yes it was but if it was digging so deep, why did it make a tunnel to the bottom of our floorboards?" I asked.

"Actually Hiccup since your house was built in a whole new spot, we didnt know there was a hole. We must've covered it with dirt, and forgot all about it. The shaking loosened the dirt and floorboards." She explained.

"We have to plug that hole before we do anything."

"Ow! Okay thanks for the heads up it was going to hurt!" Mercy shouted with a flinch.

"It needs to be cleaned now just stay still." I said and held her shoulders.

"Okay okay I'll be still." She said and froze up like a statue.

"One more rinse then we'll put a bandage on it." Gobber said as he poured water on the wound, then wrapped it with a clean bandage. "All done." Mercy tried to stand up and put pressure on her leg, but couldn't and fell. I grabbed her waist.

"Let Toothless carry you home." I said and whistled. He came running in and over to me. He nudged Mercy curiously, wondering waht happened. "Take her home bud. Slowly, she's got a nasty wound." I said and laid her on the saddle. "Don't let go of the handle." She nodded and they trotted off towards the house.

"What was that rumbling this morning?" Merida asked from behind me. I could alaways tell it was her because of that weird accent.

"Just a natural little shake no big deal." I responded calmly so she didn't freak out that there's a dragon under us.

"Alright well you might want to tell my mum about that she's lost her marbles."

"Where is she?"

"Looking for you at the Great Hall place we were in last night for dinner. I don't know what it's called." She said and walked away towards the village.

"Awrsome. I get to deal with an angry queen." I said sarcastically.

"I would say that Red Death was nicer then Elenor." Gobber said.

"Wait you know her?"

"Yup I was on that trip with you Hiccup. I pulled you out of the water whn Snotlout pushed you in." He said.

"I don't even remember you being there."

"Ah you were young." He said.

"Hiccup I have to talk to you right now." Astrid said and dragged me away by my arm.

"Okay can you at least tell me where were going?" I asked.

"Forest so no one will hear."

"Is this like super private?"

"Oh yes."

/~in the cove~\

We sat down in the grass by the pond. Astrid stared intently at the still water, as if processing how to tell me something.

"Okay you've dragged me out here to tell me something important so tell me." I said as Iooked at her. She did not move from the postition she was in, but took a deep breath.

"Hiccup this might be a weird time."

"Please just say it Astrid."

"Hiccup, I'm pregnant."

So I do hope it was good.

I'll probably update again tomorrow just because I'm not doing anything so I'll be writing.
