Quick A/N before the chapter!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that's being patient with me and my writing but this will probably be a long chapter since writing brings down my stress level and i got really stressed out today and its only my second day of school.

So here it is!

Hiccup's POV

I can not belive we just found another Skrill. And it's little and looks hurt. I had Mercy run back to the village to find Valka so shecould help us see what's wrong with it. Once they came back mom rushe over to it.

"How did you find her?" She asked.

"It's a her?" Mercy questioned.

"We heard a rustle in the bushes and being me, I decided to check it out." I said.

"Well she isn't injured that badly. Just a small fracture in one of the bones that's critical for flying. Should be healed in 3 or 4 weeks with the right treatment." She stated.

"Do we have what we need?"

"Oh yeah she just needs a splint right here." Mom said and pointed at a small bend in the dragons right wing.

"How old is it?" Mercy asked excitedly.

"Well if I counted correctly she's 1 year older then you." Mom said and pointed at Mercy.

"Really?! Dad can we keep it???" She said and bounced up and down.

"Uh it needs to heal then we have to train it. I mean her. But for now she can stay at our house." I said.

"YAY!" Mercy said and bounded around like Toothless at feeding time.

~time skip to the Haddock home~

"Hiccup this is insane we're tlking about a Skrill. Remember when on of these almost killed you?" Astrid said and crossed her arms.

"Ok number one, when are my ideas not crazy, and two, it'll be fine. It's injured and just wants a comfy place to rest. Once it's healed, we're training it."

"What if Dagur hears about the Skrill? He could come after me or you or Gods forbid ou daughter! He's crazy for Skrills!" She said loudly.

"Yes I know that's why no one is leaving the island unless they can keep a secret."

"So Fishlegs isn't going anywhere. That checks off one villager." Astrid said sarcastically.

"Astrid it'll all be okay I promise. No one will hear about our Skrill and I'll make sure of it. Now I have to go, I got a message from Gobber that he needed me at the forge. I think he needs help making saddles." I said an kissed her on the cheek.

"Dad cane I come?!" Mercy shouted from her doorway.

"Sure I need to teach you how to make one anyway if you want to ride a dragon." I said and she came running down with one boot on. "Where's your other boot?"

"Apparently not on my foot." She said and went bakc upstairs, then came down momentarily, with two boots on. "I knew something felt different."

"Come on. I'm sure the forge is full of saddles for us to fix."

"I'm excited! I was thinking about thinning out the blade of my knife so in case I'm locked up, I can pick the lock and escape."

"Smart. But I think we should worry about saddles for the moment."

~time skip~ (A/N: sowwy for all the time skips)

"Here you go Sven, brand new saddle." I said and handed the saddle out the window.

"Thanks Chief!" He shouted as he walked away. I shut the window and turned around while taking off my apron.

"Ah thanks for all the help today Hiccup. Would not have been able to get all of it done without you." Gobber said and he blew out the coals.

"No problem Gobber anytime. Where's Mercy?"

"Last time I saw her 10 minutes ago she was in her little office you built."

I walked over to her office. I extended it from mine so we could build things together and create new structures for dragons and weapons for defense. She really seemed to love it. So I built her an office where she could design her own stuff and create waht she thinks of. I opened the door sowly and peeked in. I noticed her on her stool with her head on her desk, asleep. I sighed lightly and smiled. I went over and picked her up, then caried her home. Once I walked in the door, I pushed it open quitel with my foot since I didn't know if Astrid was sleeping. But when I walked in, I noticed her at the kitchen table, eating more soup.

"Astrid you're eating soup like it's the last edable thing on this island." I whispered.

"Oh Hiccup you're home!" She said.

"Shh." I said and motioned my head down to Mercy who was still sleeping peacefully in my arms.

"Oh sorry. Go put her upstairs." She whispered, I went upstairs and placed Mercy in her bed, then ulled the blankets up to her chin. I kissed her foehead and walked out, slowly closing the door.

"How was working in the forge?" Astrid asked as soon as I got downstairs.

"It was fine. Busy. So I have a serious question, why are you always eating soup?"

"I don't actually know Hiccup. That's the funny part. It just alwyas sounds really good so I have some when I'm hungry." I looked at her skeptically. "Hiccup I know what you're thinking and I'm 76% sure that isn't it." I raised my eyebrow. "Okay I'll visit your mom tomorrow and see if she knows anything about my weird soup craving."

"Okay." I yawned. "I'mtired, you coming to bed or do you want to finish your soup?" I said and started walking to the stairs.

"I'm coming i'm coming just let me put the bowl away." She said. I went ustairs and got into my green long sleeve and brown pants. I had to get different ones since my legs got longer over the past 5 years, but I still had the same green shirt.

"I still can't believe you still have that. And now it fits!" Astrid said as she walked in and started to change. I climbed into bed and buried my face in my pillow.

"Very funny Astrid." I said but wasn't sure if she heard me or not.

"If it means anything now, I still loved you when your shirts didn't fit." She said and kissed my cheek. Sh started to walk out towards her side of the bed, but I snaked my arm out of the blankets and grabbed her hand, then pulled her onto the bed. She landed on her side of the bed, facing towards the ceilin.

"Love you too." I said and kissed her, before drifting back to sleep while cuddling Astrid like a dragon with a toy.

~the morning~

I woke up to a silent house. I figured Astrid and Mercy were stil sleeping. But once I turned over to where Astridwould be, was an empty space. I blinked my eyes and looked around the room. Nothing.

"Astrid?" I asked as I walked downstairs, hoping to see her just eating at the table. But again, nothing. I checked every possible place that she could be in the house, but she wasn't there. I went back upstairs, got into my armor and left the house and walked towards moms.

Once I got to moms house I knocked on the door. After about 5 seconds she opened the door and looked at me with tired eyes.

"Hey mom sorry it's early but I can't find Astrid anywhere and she was gonna come by today so I thought she was getting the visit done early so I came and checked." I said all in one breath.

"Well she isn't here Hiccup. Maybe with Gobber?" She said.

"I could check there. Thanks mom!" I shouted as I ran away towards the forge. Once I got to the forge I heard the banging of metal and Gobber singing.

"Well I've got my axe and I've got my mace and I love my wife with the ugly face I'm a Viking through and through..." He sang.

"GOBBER!" I shouted.

"AH! Hiccup you can't scare a man with a hook for a hand! You'll get it right through the eye!" He shouted.

"Sorry I'm just a little stressed I can't find Astrid and none of the village has seen her and I'm really concerned and was hoping you knew."

"Haven't seen her all day. Or Mercy either. She's usually in here before the un rises making new machines and things. Reminds me of when you were little. Loved coming here and designing weapons and that bola-shooter thing." Gobber said.

"This isn't the time for a trip down memory lane Gobber, I'm gonna go check on Mercy, see if she's awake and knows where Astrid is." I said and ran off. Once I got to the house which was about a 5 minute run, I ran upstairs and knocked on Mercy's door. There was no answer so I opened the door. It was empty. The blankets were messed up and the pillow was on the floor across the room. And her bow was still here. Okay, something definitely happened last night. I ran back outside for any sign of her and didn't see anything. Now I was really panicking. I ran back to the forge to see Gobber again.

"Gobber call a meeting in the Great Hall now." I said while panting.

"Why?"

"Because Astrid and Mercy are missing."
