Ish: So are we going in? 

Mau: Why we know the result,  and anyways the prize would be distributed during the farewell. 

Ish: then shall we go out?  It has been long! 

Mau: Not today,  Rags and Sanky have their next competition in 10 days.

Rag: I badly want to win that one year! Last time I lost it!! 

Mau: I know Rags,  don't worry,  I have chosen the perfect song for you both. 

San: As always!

He caresses Mauli's head.

Ish: So do the honours and tell us the song.

Mauli glares Ishaan. 

Mau: Hai Rama yeh Kya Hua.

Laksh stiffs hearing it,

Lak: I, I ha... I have some work...  You guys practice, I.. I am leaving.

Saying that he walks away without giving others a chance to speak.

Sanchi: Guys,  I feel something is wrong,  he was all fine till Mauli said the song! 

Ragini wanted to strangle Sanchi! 

Mauli looked at Sanskar,  he nodded. After all, Laksh had accepted Sanchi as his friend. 

Mau: He has some past with music,

San: That's why he was upset inside the auditorium.

Ish: and he has never attended their practice sessions too.

Sanchi nodded sadly.  In the small span of time, she had made a good bond with Laksh.

San: Okay,  Rags shall we practice,  the classrooms will be empty now.

They nodded and five of them headed to class.

Laksh was breathing hard.  An incident from the past was roaming inside his head

Per: Here you are Lucky, I was searching for you.

Laksh looked suspicious.

Lak: Why so sweet? 

Per: You know the music competition next month?

Lak: Don't tell me you are taking part! 

Per: Of course not,  how can I,  but you gave your name right,  and ta-da I chose the song for your duet.

Laksh blinked his eyes.

Per: what about singing "hai Rama yeh kya Hua" song?

Lak: Are you insane!!  You want me to sing a semi-classical song when you clearly know what I learnt are western music and not classical one.  That too by A R Rahman,  I won't be able to sing those high notes!!

Per: Lucky, don't underestimate yourself,  I know you can.

Lak: This is called self-awareness and not underestimation.  I know my abilities and I am better aware of my weaknesses! 

Per: Come on you can. Please Lucky do for me.

Lak: Why this song! 

Per: Of course because it is my favourite.  I want to hear your voice. And don't worry,  I talked to Ahana,  she is ready to sing with you.  (Passing a print out) And here are the lyrics. I downloaded the karaoke.

Laksh looked at the paper defeated. 

Lak: You spoke with Ahana,  you took the print out,  you downloaded the karaoke and you are asking me now. GREAT!! 

Per: I know you won't deny me.

Person winks! 

Laksh sighs.

Lak: But this would take time.

Per: That's why I am giving you this song no when we have a month for the competition,  you usually start your practice two weeks prior.  See you have ample time now.

Lak: So everything is planned. 

Per: Of course,  how can I be careless when it comes to you.

Laksh smiles.

Lak: You were never careless about me,  but unfortunately when it came to you,  I was careless and thus I lost you.  That was the first time when you didn't come to my practice sessions,  you wanted to hear me sing on stage. Unfortunately, I couldn't grant your wish! 

Laksh had tears in his eyes. 

Lak: I am sorry,  please come back.

He sighs and leaves home.

Next few days went with Ragini and Sanskar's practice sessions. 

The song was difficult,  but to win they had to take the risk.  Both were completely concentrated in their practice sessions.

And Laksh had finished two books at that time.  Yes, he got plenty of time as Ragini and Sanskar were very busy and the others were with them.

But the song was creating its effect on Sanskar.  He was deeply affected by the lyrics, and singing with Ragini was making it tough for him.

A week later:

After three days it was the competition.  Ragini and Sanskar had stopped their practice.  They were confident with the song. 

That day when they were leaving to home Sanskar called Laksh.

San: Laksh can you stay back? 

Lak: Yeah,  wait a sec,  let me inform Ma. 

Laksh called Ap and told her he would be late as he is going out with Sanskar.

Lak: What's the matter? 

San: I can't take it anymore!  I am going to confess to Rags tomorrow.

Laksh felt like someone stabbed his heart.  Though he was aware of Sanskar's feelings, now that he decided to confess,  he was feeling uneasy.

Lak: Why the rush, you said you were going to wait.

San: I did,  and I also said I will hold back only till I can.  I can't do it anymore. I can't even look at her properly now.  I am feeling awkward with her and she is my best friend!  How can I be awkward with her?  No, I think this is the correct time to confess. 

Lak: Then wait for three days at least,  you can confess after the competition.

Laksh was worried about the competition, in case she is going to refuse then it is sure that their friendship is going to be affected.  He knew how much the competition means to Ragini. That's why he suggested delaying for three days.

And about her reaction,  Laksh was having dual thoughts.

San: Three days are too much Laksh, you won't understand that as you don't know how it feels.

Laksh smiles inward. Yeah, he won't understand how it feels to hide your feeling to the one you love,  that too when she is with you always.  Of course, he doesn't understand.

Laksh sighs.

Lak: Okay,  I am with you.  What are you planning?  I mean how to confess. 

San: As you know she likes it simple. I am planning to confess tomorrow evening.  After class,  at the beach.  Let us tell her that it is an outing.  I will tell Mauhaan tomorrow and I need you as my support.

Lak: Of course I am with you.

Only Laksh knows how much effort it took for him to say those words. But he was honest when he said those.  He would stand by his friend.

Sanskar hugs him happily.
