Chapter 4

A/N: Just to let you guys know, I've changed the bet a little. McKelty just has to go out with Libby for two months, he doesn't have to try and get in her pants. I changed it because it was a bit inappropriate considering they're only 13 years old. Anyhow, hope you like this chapter. Love you guys :)

*Libby's P.O.V*

On my way to class after break, it dawned on me what had just happened. I'm going on a date with Nick McKelty. The guy that my best friends absolutely hate. Not to mention, Hank's dad and Nick's dad are arch enemies as well. What have I just gotten myself into? Should I cancel our date? But Nick seemed so nice when he asked me out, he seemed nervous and like he really wanted me to say yes. Maybe I should go on the date and see if he's serious about not being such a bad guy after all.

I went to our next class, maths with Ms Adolf and sat in my usual seat next to Hank. On my way to my seat, I caught eye contact with Nick and he smiled at me. I gave him a tiny, barely-there smile back, worried that one of my friends would notice me smiling at him.

"Did McKelty just smile at you?" Hank asked, his eyebrows furrowed as if Nick smiling at me was the most absurd thing in the world. Just imagine how he would react if he found out we were going on a date.

"No, I don't think so." I fibbed, before turning to face the front of the classroom.

The rest of the school day went by fairly quickly and before I knew it, we were sat on the bus on the way home. Once we got home I went into mine and Emily's room to get changed. I decided to wear a pink jumper with a picture of a skull wearing a hat and the words 'Adventure 'Til I Die', a pair of grey skinny jeans and my usual white Converse. I took my hair down and shook it out a little, letting it fall into it's natural curls and slipped on a choker necklace with a moon pendant.

After I got changed, I went into the living room, where Hank was watching Adventure Time on TV with a bag of crisps. I sat down next to him, grabbed the packet and took a handful.

"Hey!" He pouted.

"That's payback for stealing my toast this morning." I said.

"Give me back my crisps!" Hank whined, lunging for the packet. I fell back on the couch, giggling, as he landed on top of me and the packet was emptied, crisps flying everywhere.

"That was your fault." I said before Hank could blame me.

"You're the one who stole them from me!" He protested.

"You're the one who thought it would be a good idea to jump on me!" I shot back, before adding, "And like I said; serves you right for stealing my toast this morning."

"Oh get over it!" Hank rolled his eyes as he sat up, freeing me from underneath him. I whacked his shoulder playfully.

"You ruined my breakfast." I claimed.

"Yeah, and you just ruined my snack, now we're even." He said, gently hitting me back.

"Exactly, so stop whinging about it!" I hit him again. He hit me back, and soon enough I was on top of him while we wrestled. Don't be alarmed, this is a normal daily thing for us. We fought for about ten minutes, before I caught sight of the clock.

"Wait, wait," I said. Now Hank was on top of me... Again.

"What?" He asked.

"I have to meet McKelty. We wanna make sure we've got everything finished before the deadline." I said, making sure to roll my eyes so it looked like I didn't want to see him.

"Oh, do you want me to come?" Hank offered. I shook my head.

"No, that's okay. I think I can handle him on my own." I smiled, as Hank removed himself from above me.

"Okay, when will you be back?" He wondered.

"About 6." I told him.

"Okay, I'll see you later." He pulled me into a hug. Although we hug pretty much every day, I still get butterflies every time we do. I wrapped my arms around his waist and breathed in his scent.

"Bye." I said, as we pulled away. I got up from the sofa, slipped on my shoes, grabbed my school bag and called out to Rosa and Stan that I was going, before I walked out the front door. Nick and I were meeting in the library again, so I made my way there and saw him already sat down, books surrounding him, as well as the Taj Mahal model we'd started to build.

"Hi." I greeted as I sat down opposite him.

"Hey." Nick smiled.

"What are we doing today?" I asked.

"Well, since we've finished with the facts and everything, now we can just focus on finishing the model." He said, as we got on with the work.

An hour later, we'd finished the model and it was time for me to go.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow." I said as I packed up my things.

"Wait, um, I thought since we're going out on Friday, you'd want this?" He handed me a piece of paper. I unfolded it to find a bunch of numbers.

"It's my phone number..." He trailed off.

"I guess that." I giggled, "But thanks. I think I left my phone at home, but I'll text you later."

"Okay, bye." Nick said.

"Bye." I smiled, before walking out of the library. I couldn't help the part of me that felt bad for doing this to Hank. He's my best friend, and I'm going behind his back with his arch enemy. I'm betraying Frankie and Ashley as well. But it's just one date, and it's not even serious, I'm just experimenting and seeing what McKelty is really like. So it's okay...right?
