To The Rescue
"We need to find her! Who know what he'll do to her!" Robin tries to keep herself from strangling Peter. She felt better after a night's sleep, and wouldn't hesitate to grab Peter. The poor boy had been hyperventilating since yesterday and Robin was so done.
"Peter, we know, but we have to make a plan..." Shawn starts, but Peter quickly cuts him off.
"By the time we come up with a plan, he'll have had enough time to..."
"Peter, calm down and SHUT UP!" Robin shouts. Silence fills the living room as the boys stare at her in shock. "If you wouldn't talk so much, I could actually think for once. And you can't help Ace if you're pacing the ceiling in my house." Peter drops down quickly.
"Sorry." He mutters. "I'm just really worried...and scared. Scared of what he could do to Ace."
"We all are, but the sooner we have a plan, the sooner we can find her." Shawn says. Peter nods.
"Wait." Robin says suddenly. "I've got an idea. Steve will be able to help us."
"Then what are you waiting for?" Shawn asks. "Call him!"

"I'm going to put you on FaceTime." Robin hits the button and props the phone up. "Ok, Steve, we have a problem."
"What did Ace do now?" Steve replies in a resigned tone.
"Well, it wasn't something she did, but it's bad." Robin proceeds to tell Steve everything that happened since Canada. Steve listens intently. He sighs when Robin finishes.
"That's bad. Did the man have metal arms?" Steve asks.
"Yes, but he only had one." Robin replies. She notices Steve seems to relax slightly at the answer. "Why?"
"If he didn't have multiple metal arms, that's good. That means Ace's kidnapper isn't who I thought it was, which means she's not in imminent danger. All three of you, come to the Tower. I've got a way we can find her." Steve hands up. Robin looks up and sees Peter with a surprised face.
"What?"
"I just didn't think he would answer." Peter admits.
"I have him on speed-dial, Pete." Robin says.
"Why would you need him on speed-dial?" Shawn laughs.
"Oh, Peter, you have not seen Ace at her full potential."

"Stay back abit. Ace hasn't worked out all the kinks." Steve says. All three teens nod, staying near the lab door. Steve turns back toward the inside of the lab. Both robots look up as he nears. Axl growls slightly upon seeing Shawn, Peter, and Robin, but Steve claps his hands to regain his attention.
"Steve Rogers." Steve says. Max and Axl seem to scan him to ensure. Axl suddenly barks excitedly, and his once-red eyes turn to their friendly blue. Max's eyes turn to their original green. "That's some good boys." Steve smiles. He looks back at the teens. "It's alright. Just walk up and say your name. They should have you all in their database."
"And if they don't?" Shawn asks. Steve shrugs. "Well, that's comforting." Shawn mutters. Peter goes first. The bots' eyes turn orange in caution.
"Peter Parker." Max barks first, and Peter sighs in relief. Axl nudges the boy in recognition. Robin goes next.
"Robin Fareway." Both Max and Axl back almost instantly. She smiles.
"Shawn M-Mendes." Shawn steps forward hesitantly. It took the robots longer before Max barks. Axl follows suit.
"Question: What do their names stand for?" Peter asks.
"MAX stands for Medical Attention and eXploration. AXL is Attack, eXplore, and Lure." Steve replies. Both bots bark at their names.
"They're just like dogs, but, you know, the size of a horse." Shawn says.
"Axl was built smaller than Max, but has more mobility. Max was made to be able to carry medical supplies and an injured person as well." The group turns and sees Tony standing at the door. "Ace get herself into trouble again?"
"Yes. I figured Max and Axl were our best bet." Steve replies. Tony smiles, tossing a shirt at Steve.
"One of the last things she wore. You really out to hide them better." Tony laughs. Robin looks at the shirt and realizes that Steve wore the same shirt, just in a different color.
"Wait, she steals your shirts?" Robin smiles.
"One of her favorite pastimes. I catch her wearing them all the time." Steve replies, turning to Axl. "Find Ace." The dog sniffs the shift up and down. Within seconds, he's barreling toward an elevator Ace had installed to get the bots out of the Tower, Max following.
"Let's go. They won't wait." Steve says. Peter and Shawn are all the way to the elevator before realizing Robin still stood where they left her, slowing turning toward them.
"Right, yeah. Let's go." Robin says, her words slowly starting to slur.
"Robin, I think you should stay here." Shawn says.
"What? Why?"
"Because you're barely standing and we don't need you passing out on us." Peter explains.
"But I want to help Ace!" Robin complains.
"They're right, Robin. The best you can do for Ace is to rest and get your strength back. Stay here. You can rest in the lounge room, and I am sure you know where Ace's stash is at. She won't mind." Steve says.
"Okay." Robin looks at Peter. "Kick some butt for me."
"Will do."
