Change Of Plans
Yoongi's POV-
With everything going on this is the least important thing I should be thinking about.
Irene is going to be even crazier and more unpredictable with Kook, which means it is crucial that we get more insight on what she could be planning. This is why we need to nail down a game plan with Taehyung...
But it is at this point when I think of everything that needs to be done on my mental checklist that my mind starts to wander.
This is the thought process that when I try to focus on what the plan is, which we've gone over with Chanyeol numerous times, my mind instead focuses on Taehyung individually.
This is why I keep coming back to what I shouldn't be thinking about. To what I am thinking about right now. But I can't help it.
He is too close to him. To Kook.
I have been trying to push my thoughts aside but ever since Sunday I haven't been able to shake the thought. That was three days ago.
Kook has noticed my change in behavior too. I've been trying to blame it on what's going on but it's not entirely true and I think he knows that. He's too observant for his own good.
The way Taehyung and Jimin look at him. The way they are always holding his hand or pressed up against him shoulder to shoulder, I don't like it. It really fucking bothers me.
I know they have known each other for a long time. I also have seen how touchy in general the two friends can be.
Jimin is always clinging on to Yeol and of course Hoseok– I'm pretty sure the two are officially together now– and I've noticed how Taehyung hangs off of Jin and even Namjoon when he's with them as well.
So it's not just Kook they are touchy with, but it doesn't bother me when they act that way with the others. Just when it's with him.
I've always been a possessive person. It's one of the things Irene would use against me to get me riled me up.
Whether she was trying to intimidate me into thinking I could lose her to another guy or just wanting me to fuck her harder, she would use my jealousy as another way to control me.
Where I'm already on edge with the threat of him being taken away by her, him being someone who I care about and who has meant much more to me than anyone since her, it's maddening.
I need to ask him if anything is going on or if he has had a history with either of the two friends, but I don't know how.
I do know that it's not really my business as he isn't officially mine, but I'm going crazy. I need to ask him for my own sanity.
Jungkook's POV-
"I really think this is going to be great Tae. You are going to be great! Don't be nervous." I say as I press the button in the elevator for the roof before bringing my hand back to twisting the draw strings on my hoodie to busy my shaking hands.
"Please, I'm not nervous. Pretty sure I can handle a seventeen year old girl. I have had to charm my way out of situations that were chargeable offenses more than once and you don't see me in jail right now do you." He says far too casually before looking up, giving me a playful wink.
"What the fuck does that mean? What have you done?" I ask with widened eyes.
"Shhh that's not important right now. We can save our stories for the celebratory dinner you take me on when our mission has been accomplished." He teases just as the elevator doors open.
We both step out and make our way over to where the equipment is, only to see a few guys doing some weight training. Shit, no Yeri.
I nod for Tae to follow me down the small hallway to our left. I'm really hoping she isn't at the punching bags as that kind of throws a wrench in our plan but if she is we will just have to adapt.
I hold a hand up, signaling Tae to stop behind me as I peak my head around to see if she is outside.
Sure enough, there she is, punching away. Luckily I have my gym bag with me that has my wraps in it.
"Okay she's out by the punching bags. So uh... okay. Okay here's what we'll do. You can come out with me an-"
"Don't worry Koo." He sighs as he takes his phone from his pocket and starts typing, "As soon as you brought up that she has been learning to box and could be out here I thought something up for this scenario. Let's just go out there and you can put your wrappy things on."
He finishes typing before he looks at me with a smile, "I won't be out there long and neither will she."
"O-okay?" I say as I stare at him with a confused expression.
He sounds so confident. What is his plan? What is he going to do?
We make our way out to the punching bags, Yeri stopping as soon as she sees us.
She looks at me only for a moment before looking away, obviously uncomfortable with my sudden appearance.
"Hi Yeri. Your form is looking good. Maybe you don't need my help after all." I give her a smile to which she replies with a confused "Thank you."
I see her eyes drift to Tae and I watch in amusement as she looks him up and down before meeting his eyes with a sweet smile.
"This is my friend Taehyung. He came to visit me. We got a little bored so we decided to come up." I say in a casual, almost bored tone.
"Hi." She says while she bats her lashes up at him, "I'm Yeri. It's nice to meet you. I like your hair!"
"Wow! Thanks so much!" He then turns to me to punch me in the arm teasingly. "See, even she complimented my hair faster than you did!"
I rub my arm and shoot him a glare as he looks back at Yeri.
"He hadn't seen me for almost two years and when we finally did meet again he didn't say a thing. So thank you for the compliment, Miss Yeri." He says kindly with his dazzling smile.
She giggles as blush dusts over her cheeks. "You're welcome."
"Anyway," I take a seat on the nearby chair as I pull my bag onto my lap. "I was just going to start out here Tae. You can look around if you want."
"Oh you can use this bag if you'd like. I was just about to go anyway." Yeri says, eyes still fixed on Tae.
"Aren't you just the sweetest! But that's okay I'll just-" Suddenly his phone begins to ring.
He reaches into his pocket, smiling at his screen once he has the device in hand. "Oh it's Sehun! I'd better take this."
He looks back up at the two of us, "I was thinking of walking on the treadmill anyway so I'll just be inside. Thanks though!"
He beams at Yeri before turning to go back the way we came as he answers the phone.
Sehun? What the hell? What is he doing? I turn my attention back to my bag just as I hear the ripping of tape.
I look up to see Yeri removing the tape on her hands.
She must have seen me looking at her as she blurts out quickly, "Like I said, I was done anyway."
She hurries to unwrap and after a minute of silence she finishes then stuffs her wraps and water bottle into her bag and slings it over her shoulder.
"Bye!" She says with a small wave, then turns and rushes inside.
Weird.
I stand up and walk over to the glass door just as I see her cross through to exit the pool area, but she doesn't turn to the right towards the elevator, instead she goes left which leads to where the equipment is. Where Tae is.
No way. Did whatever he just did work? And that quickly?
To confirm this I wait to see if she comes back into view to cross the hall to the elevator but when she doesn't I sneak in past the pool, walking to spot from which I can see the far windows where the treadmills are lined up.
Sure enough, there's Yeri getting situated on the treadmill just one machine away from the one Tae is on.
