Chapter 5 : The Tears of a Son
"Mother, I'm coming to find you and free you from that filthy necromancer's wicked spell," Clay mumbled as he drove his beloved transport. (Sorry, I can't seem to remember the names of most of the Knights' vehicles LOL)
After a long search for his mother, Clay spotted Ruina behind a tree at Rock Wood forest. He felt suspicious as he approached the wicked enchantress in order to talk to her.
"Mother, were you spying on me?" He asked her.
"Umm, no. I was just... umm... looking at you to make sure that you're saf- I mean to make sure that you're not going to attack me," Ruina said nervously.
Clay felt more suspicious of the wicked witch.
"Mother, you're worried about me, weren't you?" He asked.
"N-N-No!" Ruina denied.
"Then where's Monstrox, and the other monsters? You came here to look for me without them knowing about it?" Clay continued.
"How... How would I?" Ruina spoke as she began to sweat. "I wouldn't do that!"
"Of course you will, mother. Because I'm your son," Clay smiled as he spoke. " I knew that there's still some good inside of you. Join us, mother. We'll fight the forces of evil together, as mother and son. The Nexo Knights will welcome you with open arms..."
"No, you don't understand, Clay!" Ruina held his hands as she spoke. "Monstrox gave me whatever I wanted. He believes in me. He respects me... You should join me instead, my son."
"He's using you, mother. Can't you see it?" Clay looked at her with surprise. "Monstrox is using you like what he did to Jestro, twice! You've got to believe me, mother. We can help you..."
"No he isn't!" Ruina denied once more. "He treated the clown boy like a pawn, along with the sculptor. But me? He treated me like I'm his daughter, his wife, his family... Whatever it is, just join me Clay! We'll rule Knighton together! Monstrox made me stronger, and I believe that he'll make you more powerful too!"
"DON'T EVEN MENTION ABOUT MONSTROX AGAIN, OKAY??!!??" Clay swung Ruina's hands away as he spoke. He had had enough of that evil necromancer.
"Clay, you-"
Clay stopped and looked at his mother.
"I'm sorry, but, no. I will never join you..." Clay said as he went into his vehicle and drove away, leaving poor Ruina behind as she too, left the forest with a sigh.
"My son, forgive me. I-I just wanted to give my best for you..." Clay could hear her say.
And for the first time in his life, he cried.
He cried, for he was blaming himself for not successfully reform his mother completely,
He cried, for he wanted to give his best for his mother, as well.
He cried, because he loved his mother, and he still does...
Ruina, she still needs more time...
