You felt a set of soft, plump lips on your own. Your eyes fluttered shut at the contact and responded to the man in front of you.

"I had to do that at least once." He said as he left the closet you were stuck in with him.

"Grant!" You exclaimed as he crept up behind you and tickled you and snapping you out of your flashback to when SHIELD fell and you two kissed for the first time.

"What? I'm not doing anything." He replied back with a smirk on his face.

"You know what your doing mister, so stop it!" You whined in between fits of laughter.

"Fine." He grumbled as he released you and you ran down the halls.

"Ward if you want it your going to have to come and get it."

"Get ready for it then darling cause I'm going to get ya." Grant Ward. The man that I've some how fell in love with. You racked your brain trying to figure out how this could've possible happened, and you came up with nothing. It was just you and him on the Providence base since you found Billy dead and turned around to see a stuck sign and pulled out the blade to reveal a sign saying: Ward is Hydra. You couldn't believe it. The lights began to flicker around you and you had sent a distress signal to the rest of the team, and SHIELD for that matter. The door locked and the emergency lights went off throughout the base. There was banging on the door and yelling. It was Ward. What were you going to do, you love the man, but you feel betrayed. You still couldn't believe it as well. Quickly you put the sign back and tried to open the door. It wouldn't budge and you screamed.

"GRANT I'M TRAPPED! HELP!" You yelled.

"Calm down (Y/n) I'll get you out in a second.

"Hurry up!" You felt two arms wrap around your waist and you jumped.

"Shhh, your alright (Y/n), I've got you. I'll always be with you."

"Promise?" You were worried that you would lose him too.

"I promise. Now we have to get out of here."

"Why?"

"Hydra's here." He said as you fled the base and went with Ward.

4 months later

"(Y/n) you have to go in there. He refuses to talk to anybody except you." Coulson said not knowing that you had visited him once before. That was after his arrival and when he was still unconscious. You still loved him, and no matter how much you tried to hate him, you just couldn't. Making your way down to Vault D was nerve-wracking but you were extremely happy to go down there. Once down in the Vault you were greeted by a white wall. You had made it transparent as Ward turned around.

"(Y/n)? Is that really you? Or is this one of your tricks to get me to talk." He yelled.

"Grant, it's me. I'm going to take down the wall so you can truly see that it's me, as long as you promise to not run off. Okay?"

"Yes." He said as his stony exterior returned once again. Before you could talk yourself out of it, you took down the wall separating the two of you and ran to him. Leaping into his arms, he had supported you as he took in your features. The person before him had the same face as you, but that could've easily been a mask. He knew it was you when he saw a tattoo behind your ear.

"Why did you do this Grant?"

"I followed Garett as he was the one who saved me."

"And you thought that he would turn you over to them again." He nodded his head.

"I missed you so much (Y/n) and I meant every word that I have ever said to you." You pressed your lips against his urgently. This kiss was nothing like the first, or second, or third for that matter. This was full of all the passion and love that had to be withheld in the past few months, the torture of being away from each other, and the urgent need to be as close to the other as possible.

"I love you too Grant." You said as the wall came back up and was white.

"You guys have two hours. I'm only doing this for (Y/n), Ward." Skye said.

"I like the sound of that don't you darling? (Y/n) Ward. Sounds even better when I say it." Grant said as you smiled at him, and he smiled back with pure love and adoration.

Two months after that Coulson let him out of the cell and he had a different room that he shared with you. He was only allowed out if he was supervised by certain SHIELD agents. It was normally you, but he actually was with Fitz one day and he seemed to have forgiven Ward since he helped save Simmons from being captured by Hydra. For the most part the team has forgiven him, but not all of them trust him anymore. You don't really care as long as he's with you. Plus a week after that, Ward proposed and now you are happily married with two kids, five years later.
