The Blok : Can't "Brick" My Stride!
"What's so good about becoming a celebu-Knight anyway?"
"It's not easy to become famous! You better stay here and keep farming!"
"But mom, dad..."
"Dwayne Digglas Johnson, you better listen to what your father and I just said! You think money comes that easy? We earn money, you know?"
"Your mother is right, so don't ever disobey us, or else..."
Dwayne lives in Diggington, the hometown of Axl. He has quite a strong build, and he wanted to become a boxer, or a celebu-Knight. His elder sister, Rockora is the only one who actually supports him.
"Scolded by mom and dad again?" Rockora asked him one day.
"Yeah... Life is tough. Way tougher than my build," Dwayne sighed as he said.
"Hey, don't let your dreams be dreams. They might've stopped you from becoming a celeb, but I guarantee, that they will never stop your dreams of becoming one. You've gotta believe in yourself, show them what you've got, little bro!"
"But how?" Dwayne looked confused. "And what have I got anyway? All I can do is farming, and nothing else..."
"You've got the power inside of you, Dwayne, and you gotta use it for good. You've got such a good build after months of farming. This is a gift, Dwayne!" Rockora encouraged him. "Nobody would've gotten such a tough build in months! I'm sure that you're good in something other than farming!"
"I-I-I once saw Her Majesty, Queen Hama Halbert with a hammer at a celebration a year ago. And since then, I would wanna try using it. I would usually swing my shovel up high in the air as if I was swinging a hammer. Maybe, a war hammer! But, I wanna try using a real war hammer... How am I supposed to do that? "
"Ain't nobody's gonna 'brick' your stride, little bro, even me," Rockora encouraged him once more. "Here, take these."
Rockora then handed Dwayne a bag of cash.
"W-W-Where'd you get these?!?" Dwayne looked surprised.
"These are my savings. Take them. You need them more than I do. It's okay, nothing to worry about. My handicrafts are selling good!"
"Oh, how would I ever thank you, sis..." Dwayne thanked her as they embraced.
"Dwayne Digglas Johnson, get back into the house immediately!"
Oh dear...
🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡
Dwayne went into his house and closed the door as his parents looked at him sternly.
"What is that you're holding?" asked his mother. "Give it to me!"
"Nononononono... MOTHER!!!"
But it's too late. Mrs. Johnson opened the bag as she and her husband gawked in shock.
"Are these... CASH?!?" Mrs. Johnson questioned him.
"What do you think you're doing, young man?!? Did you steal them from someone???"
"I-I-It was a mistake!!!" Dwayne tried to explain.
"Mother! Father! Stop this!" Rockora came in suddenly. "It's mine. The money is all mine! I gave them to him."
"Rockora Diamonta Johnson, are you crazy?!?" Mrs. Johnson yelled at her daughter. "You know how hard it is to earn money?!?"
"Mom, dad, can't you see? Dwayne is trying to fulfill his wish and dream! He is trying to reach his goal. And you two keep getting in his way! The money is mine and I earned it by myself. Money can buy anything, but what it can't buy, is the eagerness of someone to reach their dreams, their ambitions, their love for someone..."
The couple became silent.
"If Dwayne wants to become a celebu-Knight, let him be. He once told me that he wants to earn a lot of money by becoming a celebu-Knight, for us, for our family. This is his promise, and becoming a celebu-Knight is his lifelong ambition. Please, mom, dad, let him fulfill his dre-"
Before Rockora could finish her sentence, the principal of the Knights' Academy knocked on the door and came in.
"I heard it all, and I'm very impressed," praised Principal Swordmore Brickland. "Feldspar, Marbla, you two should be so proud of your children, for being so brave. "
Feldspar and his wife smiled at each other.
"Why, Principal Brickland, thank you. And we've made up our minds. We'll let Dwayne join the academy. How much should we pay?"
Dwayne and Rockora high-fived as they heard their father's words.
"Well, guess what? You can sign up for free! " Principal Brickland winked at Dwayne. "For proving that you're ready to fulfill your dreams. "
Dwayne just smiled.
"And you, Rockora," he then looked at Rockora, who in turn looked at him, puzzled.
"I've seen your farming skills as well, and I can see that you're handy with a rake. How 'bout using a mace, instead? After you agreed to join the academy with your brother?"
Rockora looked at her parents as they smiled.
"I'll join too!" Rockora agreed confidently.
"Very good. You and your brother may come after a few weeks for your first day of the Knights' Academy! Good luck!" The principal said as he left the place.
"Bye!" The Johnson family waved goodbye to Principal Brickland as they closed the door.
"See, Dwayne? I told you that you'll make it to the academy!" Rockora patted him on the back as she said.
"Gee, thanks, sis!" Dwayne had so much to say to his sister.
"We're sorry, Dwayne. We shouldn't have gotten in your way. Instead, we should've supported you," Feldspar apologized.
"Hey, it's fine, dad," said Dwayne. "You and mom did this for my own good, no, our own good."
The couple just smiled.
"Now for a stage name!" said Dwayne suddenly. "Most celebu-Knights have stage names!"
"How 'bout 'The Blok'?" Rockora suggested.
"Not bad, sis!" Dwayne praised. "But I think that this stage name is much better for dad or mom!"
"Oh, you little..." Feldspar rubbed Dwayne's head as he said.
The Johnson family had a great time. Especially Dwayne, who gained a chance to fulfill his wish, and also gained a stage name that will be known by all people around Knighton after some time. And that legendary stage name is-The Blok.
